I returned the product because I'm looking forward to purchase pebble 2 - primarily for its claim that it's "water-resistant". Going back to the pebble classic- it's absolutely a good buy for a smart watch. The add on apps needs improvement though. The step counter will count even if you're just sitting and shaking your hands. I was hoping that pebble would have an accurate built-in steps counter.
I loved how the battery lasted a long time. I also liked how the vibration alleged you to messages. It's simple but very functional.
However just six months after purchasing it the upper most Biron on the right popped off. After that the screen would freeze frequently.
I bought a moto360 as a replacement but it wasn't as functional as the pebble. I wanted to buy another pebble but am hesitant coz is too expensive for something that only lasts less than a year!
My issues are twofold: the actual product (physical + connectivity) and customer service.
I received this watch as an xmas gift Dec 2014. The initial setup took SEVERAL tries. Once set up, the syncing rarely worked properly (steps on phone different than steps on watchface, sync time indicated as hours ago even if it was one minute ago, etc), and syncing took an inordinately long time.
And then my watch started to pixillate in April 2015... I could not read anything on the face rendering it useless.
I contacted customer support via email and started the lengthy back and forth wait for their replies to my pictures and concerns. I did eventually receive a replacement watch... and the replacement watch also pixillated within 4 weeks of receiving it. Once again I emailed customer service with photos and this time they completely ignored me.
The aggravation with syncing issues is not worth it, but when the product is un-usable and customer service goes mute you are left with a hole in your wallet and nothing but a paperweight.
I am currently researching other wearable tech that has a better track record than this.
Really liked the watch but returned it to upgrade to the Pebble Time.
I've had my watch for over a year and a half. For a while the software wasn't compatible with my iPhone 5 and was glitchy at best. Now the watch has a hardware failure and screen has stopped working. I've been in contact with pebble - their support is horrendous as they only support via email. I've taken pictures of the issues, videos of the issues - usual response time 2-3 weeks per email. Took months to resolve any issues.
I did try to take the watch back after a few months, but missed out on the 30 day return. Had to wait until failed completely and under the extended warranty.
I'm done with pebble for now. I love the idea, I love the simplicity, but just can't live with a glitchy item
This watch does everything it said it would do and more. Great watch for the money!
This is my second original pebble watch. The first one I gave to my son.
I have been extremely pleased with the watch and what it can do for me,
especially the vibrating for both calls and text messaging. I play golf
and find it disturbing when my playing partners phones go off in the middle
of my swing. I put my phone on silent and after vibration, answer calls
at my discretion. I wish everyone would do the same.
For me there is no need to upgrade to newer models as this one
does everything I need it to do.
This watch does everything i need it to do and i am impressed with its battery life and functions. Compared to any other smartwatch on the market it is a good buy because of its price compared to the competitors.
This pebble is a great alternative to the I watch it does what it says it will do. The only thing on the pebble App Store you have to look closely and read the app discretion and you will find what your looking for. I've had mine since boxing week and no complaints I learn new things about my pebble everyday.
I have to say I love the watch . The e-paper screen is fantastic as I work outdoors and can see the screen under any light even in direct sunlight. The battery life is great (6-7 days) and it charges quickly . The face is plastic so scratches are likely but I purchased for 6 bucks a great screen and watch face protector from a company called gadget wraps ( great product, easy to use and fantastic customer service ) . The watch is easy to use and so it the app that allows you to change the watch face etc. The only complaint I have is the charging mechanism uses a magnet to attach to the watch to charge . Although this allows the watch to be water resistant ( no hole for water to get in ) and I love this feature , I find the magnet weak. The watch, if bumped while charge has a strong chance of coming disconnected . if your not paying attention when you need the watch it might not be charged . All in all I give it 4 1/2 out of 5 .
The battery life is great and it really helps with my phone battery since a lot of notifications can be dismissed from the phone.
It's simple, but it does everything I need it to.
I like the watch, but i found couple things, one is back light does not stay long than one second and no option to change it, 2nd not speaker phone, you can see the missed called but you can not do anything else. otherwise nice watch to wear it.
Does everything I was expecting. Battery life is great which for me was a major factor for picking a watch. 6-7 days of battery, just have to make sure you don't have a watch face that constantly calls Bluetooth (like some weather ones)
This is a great "smart" watch, it serves its purpose (shows you the time, vibrates when you get a text or phone call), however, the strap is very small, I have to wear it on the last notch and it's still a bit tight.
My son will love this for Christmas
The pebble classic may be old but for the price and the features offered you cannot go wrong. The watch fits well on most people, the size of the screen is good and the strap feels comfortable no matter what you are doing. The ink display is sharp and the backlight works well even in direct light. The watch can only hold 8 apps/faces but that should he enough, if you want more then that then your better off going with the newer series by Pebble. The buttons feel very tactile and click well, there are only minor instances where the button is pressed lightly and doesn't work. Charging is great on it and takes around an hour and a half from 10% to 100%, the only thing I would say is maybe the magnet could be a little stronger as it sometimes doesn't sit flush with the watch side. The main issue with the watch is the screen problem, it has been present in the watch since launch, it is not fixable after a certain point unless you open the watch up and do the bypass steps. The good thing is that pebble will replace your watch under the warranty if you have the issue, the contact is easy and can be done through the app.

Bought it primarily to be a fitness tracker, but it turned out it i s a great smartwatch. I love the battery life It lasts around 7-10 days. Big plus is that they are waterproof.
I have had this watch for just under 2 years now. Within the first year of owning this watch I started experiencing a glitch on my screen called screen tearing. Pebble was contacted and the watch was RMA'ed and they sent me a new one. Three months after receiving my replacement the problem has started again now I am waiting for my second RMA to come in the mail from Pebble. This is a known issue with their watches and can easily be found online. I loved this watch at the beginning but now it is just a big disappointment.
We bought the watch for our 10 year old type 1 diabetic to monitor her blood sugar using Nightscout. It's been fantastic. We can text her at school without her having to have her phone out when we need her to treat high and low blood sugars. The watch faces and apps are very useful. Bluetooth range is very good.
This was a frustrating experience. I bought one hoping it could be used for fitness (pedometer, swimming laps and Strava) as it has apps for each of those purposes. The email and text notification was not a main reason for buying just nice side features for my purposes.
- the bluetooth is so bad, you cannot be more than 5 feet away before your smartphone loses contact with the watch
- it unpairs entirely sometimes
- I swam for about 4 minutes, screen is dead now
- some apps are so confusing and hard to use!
I've had mine for a year now. Still looks brand new...no scratches. The battery still lasts 8-10 days. It's very nice not having to check your phone every 5 minutes to see if you missed a call or messege.
Works great for the first few weeks and then starts glitching when you scroll down in any menu. I did some research & it's a common problem. Hopefully they sort it out for the time watch. I enjoyed it while it lasted though.
I've had this watch for over 1 year now. Worked well with my Galaxy s3 and my new Galaxy s5. Battery life is great. Only complaint is the screen, it's hard to read in sunlight.
Purchased the pebble as my first smartwatch. I really just wanted a watch that would sync with runkeeper to give me real tine data while running. It was perfect for that ... for all of 4 days. Then the screen stated showing scrambled text.
After doing some research I discovered this is an extremely common problem with Pebble due to the way they manufacture the device. its not a software problem is a hardware problem so the only choice is to replace. After reading how many problems people have had i elected to return this to the store.
Guess my only option now is to give up on real time data or pay 5x the price for an apple watch.
Guess i know now why the Pebble was so cheap.
The battery is amazing! It has tons of apps for the iphone. For the price it's a GEM. I don't need color but then again I didn't have to spend an arm and a leg on it. It does everything I need it to. I really like that I don't have to haul out my phone to see texts/calls/emails. It's especially good if I'm waiting for an important contact. It's kind of cool to have weather alerts especially when thunder or tornado watches are on. It's everything I've ever wanted.
Being somewhat technically challenged I bought the watch expecting to have nothing but trouble figuring it out.
I was able to download apps and get the watch up and running. It was pretty straightforward.
Love tracking the steps and recording my sleep.
Getting email notifications on the watch is handy especially if expecting
an important one. Saves watching the phone for new emails.
Affordable and it does what it's supposed to do. I never miss a call, text, email or notifications (Facebook, Instagram, etc.). Battery definitely lasts anywhere between 5 - 7 days on a single charge with average notifications.
I have to mention though that the first Pebble I bought was defective. It had the screen distortion issue (you can read about it in Google) which is quite common. I waited for a week, did the whole reset to factory settings, and it did not fix the problem. Since Best Buy is awesome with their exchange policy, I exchanged my Pebble and the second one I got had no problems at all.
I'm very satisfied with my Pebble and I highly recommend it! I also recommend getting a skin for your Pebble to protect it from scratches as it seems to scratch very easily (hairline scratches) even though I'm very careful with it and not hitting it hard on anything.
it is easy to use. i also use an application on my iphone to know how much steps i have done and calories are burned during the day and much more. I recommend it very much.
This is a great smart watch. Everything I was looking for and more. the only problem I found was that the apps that were for the iPhone were very limited.
On the iPhone I was not able to send text Sms messages from the watch. On my android phone all features are unlocked. Apple has the feature locked right down.
As for everything else, it was perfect. Also the Battery life with everyday use lasted 5 days. Got it on sale for [price]. If I only had a android phone I would have gone with the LG smart watch.
Have owned mine since roughly around the new year and nearly four months in I have no real complaints. It's a very robust device, and takes my blue collar work environment like a champion. Battery life is usually a few days unless you are using a watchface that refreshes your whole display often or getting mad notifications (which will draw the battery down to about 24 hours.)
App ecosystem is good, but beware the pay-to-play aspect and many apps of very questionable quality.
My biggest peave, and it won't be shared by many based on mobile device market share, is that there is no official support for Windows phone. I recently made the move to WP, and my smartwatch really no longer has any use for me-and won't until (If ever) Pebble throws an app together.
This is a great watch for the money! It stays connected to my cell phone really well and re-connects, (if I turn my phone off or my phone and watch are too far apart), with any problems, I don't have to do anything. I don't miss an email, text or phone call, excellent!
VERY GOOD PRODUCT
Overall a good device, but the backlight could be improved by better control of the brightness.
It was easy to setup and works good with my Samsung S4. I didn't want to spend much given that I didn't know if I would like a Smartwatch and the Pebble was a good fit. One thing it doesn't do is delver the actual text message from my S4 yet. (only tells you got the message). I know some of the other Android/iPhone apps have this. They say it's coming for my phone so I hope soon.
This is a super handy watch. A few issues though is the backlight is not nearly bright enough for my eyes... I have to use a flashlight to read it in the dark :( and also it looses connectivity every so often to the phone so it drops texts, sports updates etc... But still super handy...
It is simple enough to use, and delivers on what it says. I like getting texts and emails to it. Some times the screen glitches when your arm hits something, but easily resolved but pressing one of the buttons to get it to reset. The apps are not that impressive. It will definitely does what it was made for.
It's handy to have while driving or using your hands as you can review texts with a quick glance. It's basic which makes it nice, alarm, do not disturb etc. downloadable watch faces are plentiful and trendy. Comfortable and affordable all around great watch.
Nice and easy set up with my Iphone ! should have more free apps to work together along with the phone.
I bought the watch to assist with my photography work so I wasn't checking my phone everytime it went off in-front of clients.
I had the first watch for less than three weeks when it stopped charging. I went back to the store, they were out of them and had to order it from the online store. Three days later I had the second one. I brought it home, plugged it in, saw the word Pebble on the screen and that was it, the watch went dark.
I brought the second one back and just got my money back. The idea is great, but the technology, I don't think, is there yet.
Best Buy's return policy is awesome, the return was without hassles or questions.
Do not at all regret buying it. Super handy, and easy to use. One thing a lot of people may not know is that it is water proof. So you can, if you want, take it in the shower, or swimming or whatever you prefer. The battery life is amazing. And there are even some pretty cool apps and watch faces and such you can put on it. 10 out of 10 would buy.
Performs very well, apps work great and there are tons of them! Rarely have to charge, maybe once every 6 days. Highly recommend since it's compatible with most Bluetooth phones.
Purchased first watch and started out by working good but then went to update and would not update at all. Returned it and got another. The second one just keep distorting the screen. Returned the second one and bought myself headphones instead.
Excellent delivery service. The quality is great, and it has good apps that serves my purpose, i.e. weather, date, time,alarm, etc.

I wanted to love this watch... I had some odd connectivity issues with some apps always loading data, and notifications coming at odd times (very late usually). Very well made, but the display was little dim for average lighting areas. I'll likely try again with the next firmware. For the $ it was not enough bang for the buck.
This thing holds such promise, just not a consistent connection very well.
I bought this primarily to be able to track my pace and distance as I run with the Pebble version of iSmoothRun. It works exactly as designed and has already been a great help to me.
Over and above that there are so many great little Apps for the watch as well as a plethora of watch faces. The Weather faces are my favorites and there are more than enough to choose from.
The only problem I can find (thus far) with this great device is the spotty bluetooth connectivity.
At least once, but more often 2 or 3 times a day the connectivity will drop and I will need to power up my phone to reconnect. Now to be fair, this may be an issue with iOS 7, that's what Pebble is saying. I hope it will be updated soon to fix this.
Even with the connectivity problems though, you won't be getting this off my wrist anytime soon.
