Great Successor to the PS3

The games have amazing clarity of graphics, its really fast and the new controllers are a great improvement ergonomically and functionally.

Love it

I have never own a playstation. Up until a while ago I had a GameCube, a Wii and a DS. And I was planning on getting a new console but I wasn't to convinced about the Wii U. So when I heard about the Xbox One and PS4 I was looking forward to the new console competition. After E3 2013 I knew what I wanted and after saving for months I will say that I made a great choice. Love my Playstation and I absolutely do not regret anything. Highly recommended this to friends, family and society in general.

Why did Sony make this console?

If there is one thing about technology that I despise, it is companies that fail to deliver what customers want. Clearly PS3 had something that people used and enjoyed - a USB port that you could watch movies from. For some bizarre reasoning, that option has been removed. And do you have a huge library of PS3 games you want to play on this new console? Well you cannot. That is Sony's way of saying they do not care about their customers. You would think that after they had been hacked and all of our personal identification had been stolen, they might actually care slightly more about their customers.

Very satisfied

Very satisfied. I've had no problems or bugs, it performs well with very hardware-intensive games, the controller is comfortable, and the small, sleek design fits easily into our cabinet. Great product

Terrible compatibility

Can't play any movies/music from usb stick or usb harddrive. Can't play ps3, ps2, or ps1 discs. Don't buy it, stick with the PS3.

this machine is amazing... best on the amrket.. you cannot beat this machine. At over 10 million sold (that is double the Xbox one), I think the figures speak for themselves.

New Gen is terrible

The games for this system look just a bit better than what you are playing now with your PS3. Games are the same so I wouldn't buy this system now. PS4 has less features than the PS3 and it's not backwards compatible which is a huge thing now in gaming that these companies keep neglecting. I want it to play my PS3 discs, PS2 and PS1 games. The point to have it backwards compatible is so I can hook up 1 system to my t.v and not hook up my other systems to the t.v whenever I want to play games. Also I would sell and get rid of my other 3 systems. Instead of playing blu rays and DVD's to watch movies they really don't need to have that for a gaming console because blu rays play blu rays and DVD's. As of now probably the best consoles in terms of gaming. To me it's just more money to play the same things you've played on the PS3.

Great system guys but unfortunately xbox one is better. Play station network is terrible for connection speed.....if you can get on at all. Really a bother when you want to purchase from the store. I own an xbox one as well and if I had to choose between the two xbox wins everyday of the week and twice on Sundays. :) I find the software on the play station to be a little glitchy as well; not terrible, just not refined. Play station really needs to pay attention to the little things. Oh and the controller battery life is not the greatest either.

Pretty Good but could have been better..

PS4 is the best console on the market.. I use it for the exclusives and sports titles while everything else gets played on a PC! Sony should have charged 100$ more and made the specs better!!

Damn awesome

Mine kicks a** and for all of you that had problems with your system. Deal with it, you really think out of millions of machines that every single one is going to be as perfect as mine? hahaha....I have yet to have a problem, works great amazing picture. And why do you think companies have warranty? Cause not everything is perfect the first time. Great system always will be, BUY IT!!!!!

Not worth it

The construction of the PS4 is poorly built. The pic shows it has a stand, but then when I received it, it says the stand is optional. Graphics isn't all that great. Not much better than the PS3. Sound is OK, but could be better. The controllers are flimsy and is hard to use. I will be returning this to Best Buy.

Ps4 no good

Buy a PC computer instead. Sony will cause the next video game crash like it happen in 1983 with Atari.

ps4 the worst video game system

Major problems with the system. Do not waste your money on this system. Buy a PC computer instead. You get the same games on the PC. The PC computer has way better graphics.

Excellent system

Was using my PS3 for Final Fantasy XIV online and like many others wanted to upgrade to PS4 for the game. Got the system and it was a huge improvement from PS3 to PS4. Much better connection issues and game runs much smoother and now in fully 1080p that PS3 couldn't do.

Came from the 360 camp and the ps4 has not disappointed. Its got a great user interface, the only good controller on a PlayStation product, and a game catalog that has grown at a consistent rate

Poorly constructed console won't let you play ps3 games. Lack of games. And constantly crashes/freeze up.

Its a good system but can't seem to shake the fact that you can't change your psn online id. Seems to be the only downfall.

Greatest console ever

This is simply the best console ever, and it's way better than the xbox one. The graphics are just great and beautiful, the controller : best I ever had in my hands , I upgraded mine with a 1tb SSD HD and it runs great for those who can afford it. And for those complaining about games. Wait for what's coming Like they say : greatness awaits!!

Good system

Have had it since day 1 and loving it. Its noticeably more powerful than the previous generation of consoles (PS3 and Xbox 360 which I both own). Controller feels better than the ps3, sticks are more precise and feels much higher in quality and durability (akin to the high quality of xbox controllers). Mostly just launch games out for the system but many more next gen games coming later this year. Would recommend over my Xbox One if you can only afford one of the two since the PS4 is less expensive.

PS4 Console

Anyways, Im fairly disappointed with the system, so far. I say this because there are not enough games out to date, and the graphics comparing PS3 to PS4 are not significantly different. I think down the road, the games will get better as developers have more time with the console. For now, take my advice, you dont need the system. I would wait until there are more games or a packaged cheaper bundle.

Love the system

I love the PS4, only issue is the build quality of the controller. Thumb sticks wear out badly only after a couple of hours of use, and the triggers and bumpers start to get stuck and squeak when you press them. Other than that, it's really a great system.

Great system

Amazing graphics, quality controllers and system. Renewed life to replace an aging PS3. Only wise there were more games. Seems slow to release and limit choices at lunch. Same goes for Xbone.

A few issues on the software side that are sure to be patched. Controller battery is a little questionable. Besides these few problems, nothing to complain about. This console rejuvenated my love for gaming. I'll take a console that is primarily dedicated to gaming any day over a media box. Sony is updating all the time, and stability is constantly improving. Don't let [...]$ stop you from gaming nirvana, a hard working person like you deserves it.

Best there is

I had both the Ps4 and Xbox 1, they have their ups and downs, but the Ps4 is in a league of its own, cheaper than the X1, faster and smaller, fits in tight spaces easier and doesn't look like VCR. I sold the X1 last week, Forza 5 is probably the best game out for it, and even that isn't the best. The Ps4 runs smother, cooler and the games are run in 1080p, the Xbox runs no where near that, on my 42 inch TV the Ps4 just looked better.

Kind of plain

I've been super hyped about getting this console, but now that I was lucky enough to find one I can't help but feel disappointed overall. Let's get the good out of the way: the system itself is quite sleek and attractive, the graphical power is unmatched in other consoles, and the controller feels comfortable in my hands. However, these positives are far outweighed by the negatives. First (and most importantly), there are no decent games for those who don't care about indies or shooting things! This won't change even with Infamous releasing since I found the first two to be extremely monotonous. Second, the interface is plain. Super plain. Granted, consoles don't really need extravagant UI's but this one is just boring. It's as if they took the old PS3 look and made it bigger and plainer. I find that it's a pain to get to specific tiles because you always have to scroll through these giant screens one by one. Finally, it just doesn't feel like a true leap from the previous generation of consoles. The only real differences are slightly more power and a few practically useless social features that I really don't care about. I play games to become immersed, experience the story and mechanics, or have a laugh with close friends and brothers, not to record 20 seconds of me playing 20 seconds of a game. To be honest, I felt a larger sense of "next-gen" when I first booted up my Wii U (still love that gamepad, and oh those games!). After a week of the console essentially taking up space under my TV, I'm truly feeling some regret over buying the PS4. I bought it before Sony onerously raised its price, and I still feel regret. If you're only interested in power and showing off your gameplay, and you can't afford a decent gaming PC, then PS4 is the way to go. If you're truly passionate about the type of games you play and are looking for a true next generation console, then the PS4 will probably not satisfy you right now and for the (foreseeable) rest of the year.

this item is garbage. the software is ass. the Xbox one has a much blesser software to look at. the only thing the PS4 has over the xbox is better games, better resolution, better hardware, smaller, cheaper, lighter, sleeker, and more black

100x better then Xbox one

Ps4 is awesome, quiet, quick, beautiful graphics and half the size of Xbox one. I've owned both systems for a month and ps4 get all the playing time. Xbox one is slow loading and graphics are little worst and the systems is way to brig and loud. I was and xbox guy but with this new ps4 I am now converted to Sony. I would defiantly recommend ps4 over xbox one if you can find it.
