Shuts off on its own after just 1.5 years of use. Also, Samsung isn't compatible with some of the sites we access, so the "Smart" part isn't really useful to us at all. A disappointing purchase.

The Best TV for the Best price

I just got this TV on sale from Best Buy and they also priced matched it from another store for much cheaper, plus 10% off extra. This tv has awesome resolution, I really like this 58 inch screen size. The hub features are great and work perfect. I only need the 2 HDMI ports as I only plug in my Chromecast and my android box. Has great viewing angles and has sharp crisp picture. You can not find any other TV of this size and quality for the amazing price. I highly recommend this TV.

Is this the clearance of an old model? The "H" series has been surpassed by many more recent models! Specification pictures show the apps to include Skype, yet Microsoft (the operator) has discontinued the support for this app last June 2016? Could be a lot of disappointed customers discovering that the app if there to start with, will soon be uninstalled by an automatic on-line software update from Samsung. Come on BestBuy, Come on Samsung, at least publish an update advising clients of the situation (the truth).

Picture is blurry

We purchased this TV for the 'man cave' on Boxing Week so got it for a good price. However, it is going back today because the picture is just not clear whenever there is motion. Called the online support and tried the adjustment they suggested, but it did not make any difference. I noticed that most of the reviews for this TV are positive, so maybe we just got a bad product. I do agree that the smart hub takes a long time to load.

Not a full Smart TV

This TV is marketed as a smart TV which it does have a smart hub and some options, however certain features available on Samsung smart tv's such as Samsung Smart View do not work. Broadcasting from a PC or certain Samsung smart phone models is not possible. It only has limited apps available and no google apps are available in it smart hub.

Amazing Tv Ever!

I bought this TV few months ago and it is working perfectly fine. Its very easy to set up and screen quality is just wonderful. Netflix, youtube and many other apps works very well and sound quality also.

Excellent for the price

I didn't get this one on any specials or anything. Still a good deal. Picture is perfect and I never use the smart features because they're just too slow and don't do what I want to do. I have an octa core Android box hooked up to it to make it 'smart'. I don't use the built in speakers, but a custom mostly hand built system for all my music and listening needs. Works great. I use the analog audio out. I have my old Wii hooked up to the composite inputs using a 480p and it looks amazing for a 10 year old console. I like older games, none of this head spinning 3D stuff. The only issue is really cheap build quality. The plastic feels cheap. I broke the optical out port by plugging in a cable! Doesn't matter, because I don't use any digital equipment in my custom stereo. Compared with other TVs around the same size and the price almost doubles if you want to step up few inches. Doesn't make much sense. This one barely fits on my wall. I got the extended warranty on it, it was a good deal considering how cheaply things are made these days. It's best to walk to the closest store and just look at the picture quality. No fancy enhancements or calibration need. It just looks great out of the box.

Terrific Buy

If the price does not draw you in then the clear and sharp picture will. This TV has everything you could want. Internet connection with Netflix, MLB, etc. capability. And a great size which is not too big but perfect for a medium size living room or family room. We have had a number of Samsung TVs over the years and find the quality to be top shelf. Plus the USB media port is great for watching videos. In addition the staff at Best Buy were very helpful and friendly making the whole purchase worthwhile.

Good value

I think it's all about expectations. If you want the fastest smart tv with all the bells and whistles get out your chequered book and pay for them. If on the other hand you want Samsung quality LED picture in a 58" screen at a good value this is a great choice. I do agree that the tv's processor is slow, so even on fibre op you might find using apps to be frustratingly slow. However, I use chromecast and screen mirroring for the most part and this works brilliantly. The U/I for the basic functions like menu and input selection is intuitive and more than adequate, but the real strength here is picture quality. If you're streaming or otherwise receiving an HD signal you'll enjoy fantastic picture. If on the other hand you're streaming a poor quality signal the picture will be correspondingly poor. I believe this is the case with pretty much any tv. My last tv was an LG plasma which had fantastic picture quality so my bar was already set pretty high. This Samsung does not disappoint me at all. I like this tv and do not regret my choice. I would recommend this tv to anyone interested in good value in a nice quality big screen.

Its just ok.

The Samsung UN58H5202 is an ok TV. The picture looks fine for my simple tastes, I have not fooled around with the picture settings too much though. The screen size at 58” is very very nice. I purchased the TV on sale, which is great. The smart hub does load slowly. If you turn the TV on you need to wait a minute or two before you can use Netflix. The Netflix app in the smart hub is good, the streams in HD ARE great looking just like Matt said below. There is a Rovio app so my children can watch the angry birds short video’s which they love. Setting up YouTube is a bit of a hassle, you are required to go to and input the access code shown on the TV screen, but this seems to be the standard way things are done for these apps. I’m glad I didn’t have to put in my username and password for youtube. But there are a few things on this low end TV (5202) that take the shine off of my new purchase. The sound is output through the back of the TV, so right away my sound has to bounce off of a wall and around a TV before it gets to my ears. I think I’ll be purchasing a sound bar to enhance my sound eventually. One of the reasons I bought the TV was for the DLNA. I have been able to get the TV to communicate with my PC’s. Browsing through my video library is clunky and slow. It works, but it doesn’t work nicely. As well as Anynet+ not being included with this TV, as you can read below if you think that you might use some of the Samsung apps for your iOS device, you are out of luck there as well. I have tried three different programs “myTifi” “Smart View” and “Smart View 2.0” all of which will not work with this TV. So there is no controlling the TV from your apple device either. I don’t have any android devices so I couldn’t test that out.

I bought this TV on black friday. When I first got this TV, the Samsung service required for the smart features to work was offline. So it was a few days before I could try Netflix or any other built-in streaming app. Sometimes the controls are laggy or don't respond at all, and I have to cycle the power to get it to work. I have to wait 2-3 minutes after the TV has been turned on before I can access the smart features. The smart interface is slow and sometimes stops responding. The TV will activate it's screen saver in the middle of a show or a game. It does this with all my devices (PS3, PS4, Chrome cast). On paper, the TV is good value. Picture is great, no complaints there. Maybe I just got a lemon. I'll be returning it this week.

Good product for the price

I bought this TV on boxing day, on line and got the delivery on 31st December and hooked up the TV on my TV mount and it works great. What I don't like is that there is no HDMI port to hook up the TV to my existing Samsung 7.1 Blue Ray Home entertainment and I could not get TV Audio through HDMI cable on Home theater so I call Samsung technical support and explained the problem to them but it seems he could not solve it. Even after spending 30 min on the phone and tried what ever he said but could not make it and he hung up the phone promising me to call me back in 30 minutes with the solution but he never called back. Late night I tried live chat online and the agent seems to be knowledgeable and told me that I have to use either AV cable or Optical cable so this TV is not compatible to deliver audio out put through HDMI Cable.

picture is good and the tv is priced at a reasonable price point for features and specs. Bought it one day before black friday at the sale price. Have to return it back to the store because no USB ports work or show up in my tool bar. bought a defective tv according to samsung.

great buy

Bought this on Black Friday. Great tv for the price. If you are into higher end features, then spend more, but just to watch tv, netflix, and play dvd's, this is the best tv for the price. Everything easy to set up and the picture only needed a little fine tuning on settings to get it right.

Can't control my amp/speakers with TV remote.

Bought this TV and was quite happy with the picture and features. Few days after bringing it home I tried to hook audio up to my stereo, only to discovered there is no variable audio out on the TV. There is a 1/8" stereo analog audio output, and an optical digital audio out on the TV, but it is fixed level. NOT controllable by the TV remote. My stereo doesn't have a remote control and I am not going to listen to the crappy internal speakers. Searching online this has been complained about for years. Not acceptable Samsung. Going back to the store tomorrow.

Great TV - Great picture and features, amazing

I purchased this TV a few days ago and I thought I would write this review for others who are on the fence about this model. Out of the box, the TV has a good picture. After some basic calibration it has an amazing picture hooked up to my home theater PC. From my experience for best results, turn off all artificial picture functions like dynamic contrast etc, in both the advanced picture and picture options menus. My Calibrated Settings Picture Mode - Standard Backlight - 20 Contrast - 100 Brightness - 45 Sharpness - 0 (Yes zero, very sharp at zero, anything else introduces artifacts you can see in the picture ) Color - 55 Tint - Leave at factory settings Picture size - Screen fit With those settings from SD Content all the way to Blu-ray content the picture quality is absolutely stunning for a tv of this price. The tv is 60hz, but I dont really see any issues with fast moving things like sports or even video cames. No ghosting or judder that I can see with my eyes anyways. HZ ratings don't mean what they used to with these new generation tv's in my opinion. If you want a big tv that has a very good picture, and you dont want to break the bank, this should be your first pick. The remote is fine, other people complain about it, I have no issues with it. The smart features work well. Netflix streams in HD and looks amazing. The response time of things like the web browser is a little slow, but I have the TV connected to a PC anyways, so why would I browse the web on the TV browser. I have a high end surround system, and I turned it off for the purposes of reviewing the sound quality and played the sound through the TV (Wall mounted) After playing with the EQ a little, bumping up the low end, taking the mid range down a bit and bumping up the high frequencies the sound is quite good. It does sound a bit hollow when you have the virtual surround turned off and the EQ at the factory settings. It might take you a bit to dial in the settings on the TV, but it is well worth it. You are saving a ton of money over comparable models of a similar size, and after a little tweaking I don't know anyone who would be able to tell the difference in picture between the two with the naked eye. OVERALL GREAT VALUE. I SHOULD HAVE BOUGHT TWO OF THEM.

Awesome deal for the price

Got this tv last month on a big sale....Can't be more happy with my purchase. Awesome tv for the price. Good quality picture. and easy to use smart feature. Got a wireless keyboard and mouse attached for easy web browsing as well. Working perfectly fine. The only drawback is lack of Anynet feature but I will live without it.

Good TV Bad remote

The TV it self has good quality picture and okay quality sound. Good deal for the price. However the build quality is really low and the remote is VERY sluggish and cheap.

Good Quality for the price

I've had the TV for a couple days now and I am very happy with the overall picture. The channel switching lag isn't bad either. The one thing that I am extremely shocked and disappointed about is the lack of the Samsung Anynet+ feature. This is the feature that lets your Samsung remote control other devices when they are using the hdmi port. It's pretty much a standard on all TVs and is called hdmi-cec (consumer electronics control). C'mon SAMSUNG make it a standard please!!!!!!

Great TV, set up was simple. I wall mounted it. Very light, picture is amazing and the smart feature is great. At this price point it really doesn't get any better! Big screen!! Only negative point I would have is that the speakers are a little weak. But I use a sound bar with sub anyways so it doesn't affect me! I would totally recommend this TV!!!

Amazing Value

We are very pleased with our new Samsung SmatTV. A summary of our feedback: -There is one other review that says this TV cannot be wall mounted. The connectors are in the back, but we still wall mounted ours just fine. The only difficulty was that the USB ports are on the back too, but we ran a USB extension cable so that we could connect/disconnect our thumb drive easily. -The USB functionality works very well, we tried many different formats (mkv, avi, mp4,..) and all played seamlessly. -The smart guide is very slow, but we were able to remove it and use the guide that comes from our provider (Bell) so no issues. -The picture is great, we do not notice any ghosting and video games (i.e. COD) look stunning. We got this TV when it was on a big sale, and based on how great the TV is we really feel like we've robbed best buy. Would absolutely recommend.

Great bang for the buck!

This TV represents great value for the dollar, and I got it on the Boxing week sale. 2xHDMI, 2xUSB, 1xComponent, Miracast and Game mode were exactly what I was looking for and got with this model. Smart features and DLNA are a bonus that I'll be using in the near future. 1st unit was broken, but that happens. A unit exchange from Best Buy went smoothly and they were totally easy to deal with. The picture is so good, I'm not sure I need to calibrate it. Just installed a few days ago, so we'll see how this goes. Sometimes it seems a bit jumpy, and there is a little motion blur during fast action that I could probably sort out with the multitude of settings this thing has. I'm not one to change my TV often, so I like to get features that I think will be useful for a number of years. Replacing a 7 year old 40 inch 720p/1080i ViewSonic N4060W.
