Galaxy Note 8.0 is the best mid sized Tablet

This tablet is amazingly quick and fluid and it will work efficiently and reliably. I have had the tablet for the past month and did add a micro SD card to store extra media files. The battery life on the device is good and in this day and age, one is never too far from an outlet to charge wireless devices in any case. The S Pen integration is the best for an onscreen writing experience with the Microsoft Surface Pro tablets coming a very close second. The S Pen not only allows those who are more graphically inclined or those who are more literary and like writing to get more use out of the tablet but it allows for a quicker and more accurate navigation experience whether one is surfing the Net or going through apps or media files on the tablet. The speakers are reasonably powerful and has a very crisp sound to it. The screen is vibrant and the screen resolution is sharp and clear. The Tablet is also very light and makes it easy for one to hold the tablet with one hand for extended periods of time. Buy this tablet, give it an honest trial and you will see that it is a fun, reliable and efficient product.

Samsung note 8

I purchased my Samsung note 8 after owning many other Samsung products. The tablet itself is great ,but it does lack great construction like my other Samsung products. After only owning this tablet for less then 3 months the lcd screen cracked. It was never dropped. I have to warn people purchase the samsung tabs or other tablets, please stay away from this tablet as it isn't as well assembled

Poor Manufacturer Support

The Note 8.0 doesn't have enough internal memory (half of it is used by Samsung bloatware). Though there is an SD card expansion slot, it is hobbled such that it is nearly useless. Most apps will not store to it. The global PR coverage of this device is misleading... Samsung Canada has no commitment to update the OS beyond what was already outdated at launch a year ago.

Best. Tablet. Ever.

This is hands down the best tablet on the market. It is a million times better than the ipad mini. Great apps, great performance. The S-pen is really cool and makes note taking and every day stuff so much easier. You can open to apps at the same time. I totally recommend this.

most apps doesnt let it store to sd card

Memory runs out quickly. With 16g and doesn't let apps get stored in sd card makes ur tablet reach its memory full right away.

Excellent

This is my first tablet and I wanted something that does more than play games. I researched prior to purchase and liked the features of the Samsung Note 8, In particular the ability to write notes with the attached stilus and the exclusive split screen feature not available on any other table. Excellent product for the price.

Excellent price/value ratio

Got it a week ago as a gift. So far it performs really good- screen, speed, OS (I'd like an update to Android 4.2 or higher, but it is not available for Canada yet), battery, apps, connectivity, features (I really Samsung apps, eyes tracing, d S-pen, task manager, etc.). Wouldn't buy any other tablet - Note 8.0 is the best!

Productive Tablet

This tablet offers tons of features; in fact so many that I can't list them all here. I recommend you buy one and be prepared to discover lots to do with the included Samsung apps and of course the sky's the limit with this Android based tablet so just visit Play store for access to thousands of free apps. The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 looks great in white or black or any other color that might be available in your area. The 8-inch touch screen with 1280 x 800 resolution does the job for me. Movies look good as do photos, and apps. The plastic is of a good quality that makes it feel like other more expensive tablets. The included S pen fits neatly in place within the tablet so less chance of losing it and when you need it, it's right there in the tablet. I'm not a big fan of the stylus but the Samsung s-pen's design and function gives you more reasons to draw, write, clip, tap, and navigate on this device. For the most part, I found the device very accurate and responsive when taking notes with the S-pen. In terms of horse power it's more than adequate, the 1.6GHz Exynos 4412 quad-core processor is fast and with 2 GB of ram it’s easy to run multiple apps at once. The Bluetooth connectivity is the best I’ve used on a tablet. Included storage is 16 GB and with a built-in Micro SD slot you can easily bump up storage space all the way to 64 GB(Max), if you need it. One area that needs improvement is the battery. It takes too long to charge and tends to wear down quickly when playing games especially. I recommend this tablet for its quality, usefulness, size, functionality and reliability. If you’re new to Android tablets and considering buying one, put this one on your short list. You won’t be disappointed. Highly recommended

great experience with the tablet

I had been using Samsung Galaxy S3 phone for almost 2 years before I got Galaxy note 8.0. I was familiar with Samsung functions, look and feel, etc. I use this tablet now for taking some language lessons, reading, sketching, video watching, social media, picture editing and it has been working very well and I love. My husband is a big fan of Apple products and he has his iPad but I do hear him say that he would like to play around with Samsung once in a while :). So this tablet has really brought some good competition to iPad in terms of usability. In addition, the Android iOS also has an expanded variety of apps. I also like the multi-tasking feature of the tablet and allows me to take notes while I am taking my language lesson. A great gift from my husband :)

Love it!

I recently received this as a gift instead of an iPad, which is what I had requested for. Being accustomed to apple products, and this being my first Samsung device, I was very impressed with how user-friendly the note 8 is. I was able to set up and familiarize myself with the device rather quickly. What I was amazed with was how much more my Samsung tablet offers me in regards to features and functionality than other products I have tried (windows surface, ipad). The I only downside is how long it takes for the battery to charge in between uses. Other than that, love my note 8 and am so happy with it. I highly recommend it!

The perfect tablet

I am a new tablet user, this is my first. Researched a lot before my purchase, chose this one for it's newer faster technology. On a recommendation from my techie son I chose android over the ipad. I like the size, 10 inch a little too large and cumbersome, the 7 inch a little small. Note 8.0 is a great size for travelling. The camera is okay, but no worries for me I have a good camera for important shots. The battery could be a little better, but I charge it every night, and so far have not used it for movies. Samsung could have done a little better with including an operating manual of sorts, not much info in the box for us first time tablet users. I love the SPEN and the paper artist program. I know I am not using the tablet to its full potential but I am learning. Thought it was expensive at first, but I think it is good value for money. Plastic case does not feel cheap at all, and with the addition of a nice leather case it is perfect on the go. It fits nicely in onehand, nicely balanced and not too heavy. I would highly recommend it.

Worth it

I've been using this for 2 months now and it has been performing well. I use it everyday for surfing the web, as an organizer, a notebook, and for entertainment. It is absolutely handy and light, it fits perfectly in my bag. Screen display is great. I can open two apps in one time. Great tablet to have.

awesome tablet for school

I really enjoy this tablet so far. I bought a 10" note but I felt it is a little big, so I return it and bought this one. It load website with flash video as fast as my i3 laptop can load. I've use the tablet in the last 3 days, and it finally ran out. The digitized pen and dual screen mode make writing project very useful.

great tablet by samsung

Love this tablet . A notation feature is excellent. Screen resolution and brightness really good for reading. Adobe player is not available for this tablet but no big deal as YouTube and media player is available. Nice to have the sd card slot for more storage, unlike the ipad. All in all great tablet and we'll worth the high price for the writing tablet function.

A Great Tablet

I recently bought this tablet when it was on sale and so far I am very satisfied. There are definitely cheaper tablets out there for those just looking to surf the web and take notes but not many come with an integrated stylus. The pen works great, the tablet connects to wifi with no problems. It is also a great size at 8". Not too big to hold in one hand but also not too small. I do wish it came with more onboard memory. You only get about 9GB out of the 16GB. This however can be offset by not going crazy with apps and getting a 32 or 64 GB SD card. [...]

Great Product

As an owner of a Note 2 and a Transformer Infinity I wrestled with whether I would find this device useful. I love the 8" form factor. I have a Transformer Infinity but found it a bit bulky and heavy to use in some aspects. I've been very happy with the ease in which the Note 8 allows me to use it for both work or for fun. The Spen is a great feature for inputing or consuming data. I tend to use it less as a writing tool (Opting instead for a SwiftKey Keyboard) but more for drawing or quick scribbles or pushing pages around. Overall a great product, glad I got it!

Excellent Purchase

I bought this tablet for my girlfriend for her birthday. After doing a great deal of online research & comparing all available tablets-the pros & cons-we finally settled on this one. It's fast, everything functions very well & the expandable memory(I inserted a 32GB microSD card) is a bonus. Battery life is about 7-8 hours of constant use. We are 100% satisfied & would definitely recommend this tablet.

glad I bought this tablet

All I can say is that l laughed at all the conference attendees who were typing with one finger on their I pads. Using the S-pen and combining it with pictures audio and video also blew the competition away. Moreover mine fits in my purse and in one hand. I'm buying a cover [...] which doesn't have the stand feature -this size doesn't need it. Its good for taking on vacation or for working with business documents. [...] My only wish is for the Un-useable area around the screen to be reduced to maximize viewing area.

Very Impressed

At first, the price seemed a little high, but it was worth it. I'm really loving this tablet. the s-pen is great, and l like being able to open two things at once. I'm writing this message with the pen, actually, (in my sloppy cursive writing!) I'm looking forward to using this in my second year of university instead of a chaotic mix of paper and digital files. Document/file management is a lot easier than on any other tablet I tried.

BEST tablet ever!

I am completely in love with this Tablet. I had the 7" first and in between I switched to the mini ipad because of the extra 1 inch, but when this one come out, that was no brainer! I switched immediately! I find myself being more of an Android kind of person, can't leave without my Widgets! The S-Pen is amazing and so handy, the Micro SD option is wonderful giving you way more extra storage for your music, photos and movies to go anywhere with you! The Multi-window option is a really neat feature too. Love it, love it, LOVE IT, wouldn't change it for anything! The prize is a bit steep, but if you watch out for the specials you can get a really good deal like I did. Don't think it twice, you will be super-happy with this tablet.

this tab is great, especially note taking. only one thing that i don't like is capasitive buttons, because whenever i watch video or something i hold my palm on both sides, so incidentally i press back button , that's what i hate. Other wise this note taking tab is best for anyone.

Best tablet on the market!

This is my second tablet. The first one is 10 inches and a great tablet, but for traveling I much prefer this one which is 8 inches. It feels like holding a small book. The fact that the Samsung has a pen is so great and very useful. I can't find anything to complain about...This is a great Tablet! Samsung might be a little more expensive than other tablet, but it's worth it.

No regrets

I figured it was time to get myself a tablet having gotten a 1st gen Ipad for my son and a 2nd gen Ipad for my daughter and I did my research on smaller tablets like the Ipad mini, nexus and the Samsung Note 8.0. I have to say I'm not regretting my purchase at all. I never liked the 10" tablets for my own personal use. They are too large to hold with one hand and they just aren't functionable for me playing with it at home or in public. The Note feels right in my hands (hand) although you need to be wary of the "back" button and sometimes I would accidentally hit it but it didn't get irritating. Once you're aware where it is you will avoid it unless you need to use it. Having played with the Ipad for so many years I have to say I like the additional "back" and "menu" button on the Note since one of my main gripes about Apple was only having the one Home button. Reviewers out there are claiming that the Note is mostly tailored for Artists, and others who want to use the Stylus. Well I'm no artist and I'm in love with the Note. The Stylus fit right in my hand and it has pin-point prescision and the "nib" is springy so you won't have to worry about "marking" your Note screen (like I did with my old HTC phone with a stylus). It took me about 10 mins to get the hang of writing on the Note and having it translate what I was writing to text when chatting on FB but once I got used to how to do it I love writing instead of texting. This is a fast machine as well and it had lots of things i like about it over the Ipad. Software is excellent from wallpaper to notifications and so many options under settings than the Ipad. I'm not much into using so many apps that it doesn't bother me that Google is no where near the number of Apple. It's a little confusing and redundant that Samsung also included similar apps installed of their own to coincide with Google apps installed but you can always set those aside as to which ones you prefer. Being new to Google and Android stuff (always used Apple or Blackberry) I have to say I love the Android stuff over Apple stuff. Using the Note 8.0 I feel more "adult" than using the Ipad which is just that...for the kids. Highly recommended.

The tablet to Be at!

Can't say enough about this tablet, it's nearly perfect. The pen alone is reason enough to consider this over any Apple products as well as competing Android tablets. Of course the Surface pro also has a great pen experience but the cost is double. GREAT performance, screen, and awesome sound from the speakers. My only two minor issues would be, a non stock Android and the camera (SPECIFICALLY the bulge), but that's it. HIGHLY recommended tablet, and definitely worth the price.

Superb

This is what I've been looking for-- a not for the sake of a "pad" device. It is not JUST entertainment, it can actually help your life out everyday and brings out the best of your talents and experiences. Screen quality is SUPERB - simply very Samsung! The apps are not so so and so is the environment and the elegant craftsmanship- anyone can feel like a billionaire owning this one of a kind device (and OS) !

Fantastic tablet, especially for artists

This tablet is amazing. It's fast, the screen is sharp and beautiful and the S Pen really adds a lot to the tablet-using experience. The 8 inch size is also perfect and you may find that it is even more comfortable using than a typical 10 inch tablet. Note taking and drawing on this tablet is anything but a tack-on. The response is excellent and you will find yourself actually enjoying writing because of how awesome the S-Pen is. And if you are an artist, I truly believe you will fall in love with this tablet, as did I. I am an artist who illustrates and sketches regularly and having this tablet on the go, I can pull out the S Pen and within a second, I am ready to sketch. The responsiveness is really good. This tablet really is a landmark product for artists. Though the price is a bit steep, I personally think that it is worth it. Five stars. Easily.

awesome device

i bought the galaxy note 8.0 a few days after it was released and i have to say this is the best tablet i've ever used. performance wise it is buttery smooth. no lag or choppiness whatsoever even with half a dozen apps running. the 1.6GHZ quad core processor is amazing! the multi-window feature alone is worth the price of entry and it works perfectly. the tablet can play almost every video codec file out of the box no problem. i was initially weary because i had heard the screen resolution was poor. but this is not true at all. the screen looks amazing, very crisp and clear especially with HD videos playing. the twin speakers on the device are very loud and crisp. i am very happy with almost every aspect of this device. it ships with android 4.1.2 and i have yet to experience a single bug or glitch during my very extensive usage. admittedly i don't use the s-pen that much but from the times that i have, i find it very smooth and fluid. i can only name a few downsides. #1 is battery life. with maximum brightness, wifi on and multiple apps running (multiwindow) i get about 5hrs of usage(very heavy usage). if i lower the brightness and ease up on the multitasking i can get about 7hrs. also the battery takes very long to charge. #2 the device is only available with 16GB of storage and out of that only 8.9GB are available to use. i did however buy a 32gb micro sd card so that point is kind of mute. #3 is price. even though this tablet is more expensive than other similarly sized devices, i believe it is worth every penny. you get so much more out of the note 8.0 than the others have to offer. the multiwindow alone puts it in a league of its own. anyway, i HIGHLY recommend this tablet. there is nothing else in its class. the nexus 7 or ipad mini are not even in the same league.

absolutely amazing

samsung has pulled off another great addition to their tech collection. I thought i wouldn't notice the quad core processor and 2gbs of ram but after 5 minutes of use it was like stepping into a v12 car and turning the engine on. Games run smoothly, absolutely no lag, no bugs and super smooth software. Not to mention all the new features samsung has integrated into it. I previously was part of the iCommunity by owning an ipad mini but i bought one of these. let me tell you, they do not even compare even remotely, this device is the perfect size and has all the perfect features to be the best tablet for at least the next 9months to a year. I would definitely recommend this tablet to newcomers and more experienced users alike. 5/5, great job samsung!!!!!!! :)

Excellent product!!

Saw this is the US last week and couldn't resist. Exceptional machine! Slick s-pen allows you to write just like you're using a pen and paper. Feels very natural. The USB and microSD slot are a real bonus. The size is perfect- just right as an e-reader but also for viewing and annotating PDFs.
