Great tablet for the price

For the price of this tablet you will not find anything better. I am a university student and this is really the best bang for your buck. It is great for notes on pdf and other files and is great to view textbooks on, The color for the screen is great and the overall build is fantastic. The peel remote app is a nice add although it is not very useful with Bell satellite boxes. I would highly recommend this tablet.

Great tablet

I wasn't sure which tablet to purchase and it took me quite a while to choose this product. I am very satisfied with this tablet. It's fast and very easy to use. I use it for watching movies reading books and playing games. For the price that the tablet is selling for its just great

Good Value

Great table for the price, no regrets. Only downside is the proprietary connector instead of a micro USB connector.

Great Product. Worth the money

I love this tablet! Very good product. I have used other more expensive brand before and always want to get an android Tab. This tab is very responsive and the price is right on the money. The wifi signal is fast and stable. Easy to set up and fun to use. I bought 2 tabs and I am going to give one to my 80 years old mother-in-law.

Great Tablet!!!

I absolutely love this tablet. I have the original Samsung Galaxy Tab for about 2.5 years now. I am just waiting for my contract to end with my provider. I love my old tablet, and was excited when doing some research that the Samsung Galaxy Tab2 was available still in the 7 inch. I like the size of the original tablet, since I am commuting to work. I like to keep it in my purse, and I find that the Tab2 is so much sleeker and lightweight. I can't help but be on it, even when I am at work. I love the fluidity of the screen and the apps are so much fun to use. I usually use my tablet for reading. I also have a Samsung SIII. It is the exact same thing, just bigger. I like that it is the same functionality and I do not have to be fumbling around to use either one. Samsung has done it again. It is so light and durable, I am not worried when my little girl wants to watch movies on it or play her cooking games on it.

Not Quite

Bought this as a replacement for my wife's beloved - sorry not supposed to reference other products (hereinafter referred to as Other Product) - which alas did not survive the ride on the trunk lid of our car. The smaller size seemed better suited for portability, but the trade off in screen size proved to be too much. It was simply too hard to properly view web pages. We found setting up this Android frustrating at times as compared to that Other Product which was more intuitive. The battery saving screen dimmer seems to have a mind of it's own despite whatever delay setting we tried. Thats apparently how they achieve the advertised battery life. The deal breaker was the less developed App store. I suppose being on the market longer, it is logical that the Other Product would have more available. My wife uses this in her tutoring of children with learning/language skills, so her need for specialized Apps is a bit more than the typical user. Available Apps for Android seemed more geared to the bubblegum user. I shouldnt slam this unit too much as it really depends on what you are looking for. The Other Product is more grown up, but if you're looking for more of a social and entertainment experience, this would probably be a better deal. Thats actually what the BB salesman said and guess what!

Simply amazing!

I am continually impressed every time I use this tablet. The interface is use-friendly, it has plenty of apps, and the performance is superb. I must admit it took me a few days to get used to the myriad of setting options, but once I got the hang of it I have not been able to put it down. Highly recommended!

My first gadget envy

I've never had gadget envy before, never been one to care about the latest iStuff, or XStationdo. But when my girlfriend was given an iPod Mini, or equivalent, I went into search mode. I found that the Samsung tablets had very high ratings, and solid reviews. Plus, it ran on Android 4.1, and our home is more Google and PC, than Apple and Mac. The tablet setup was quick and easy, and it imported everything from her Google account instantly. The screen was brilliant, clear, and sharp It was quick to load apps, and felt secure while browsing. It being only a 7" also gave it another layer of portability, and although it's mostly plastic, it still feels sturdy and high quality. After a couple of weeks of watching her with it, want got the better of me. First time for everything. I really dig this little tablet Specially when paired with a keyboard case, it's a near full function mini laptop. The only negative is, of course, battery life. It'll last a work day, but that's it. Luckily it charges very quickly which is why it got a 3for Battery and not a 2.

All is well with Samsung

Amazing product. Best buy even lived up to their price match guarantee so kudos to them. The only reason I gave it a 4 star is because it does not have a usb plug in and for whatever reason on some household wifi routers when I enter a different room with it it says network error. At home I use a Belkin router and have never had any problems to report, nor at like McDonalds or Tim Horton or anything like that. Other than that it works great and there are a lot of perks you will get after buying the product in the form of apps.

Major concerns

I have two major problems - 1. When I take pictures outside, all I get is a blank gray screen. 2. I cannot transfer 'apps' to my Micro SD card.

Cool tablet

Gifted the tablet to wife, she's very happy and so am I :). No complaints with it, bought a 16GB microSD that was also on sale to use as external storage. Tablet seems a bit light to handle and so gives out that flimsy feel. Preferred the 7" over the 10" as it is way easy to type on this one, and fits in your coat pocket. Wi-fi sensitivity can be improved on as I see 2 bar when I'm about 12ft away from the AP, but my blackberry shows 4 bars and so does my wireless laptop. Placement of the power button can get to you as everytime you try to rotate the device, you end up putting the screen off. I've noticed a lag when typing. Overall, I'm very happy for what I got for the price.

Neat little thing! Got mine as a Christmas present and I love it! Having a Samsung Galaxy S3 already makes so much easier to know how to use the tablet! Love the last firmware updates, makes the tablet even better. Love the Widgets something you can not have on apple staff. And the best part if you get the OTG (on the go) cable accessory there is no need to convert movies, just watched them for you USB flash memory! And I am loving it for watching movies either from my flash drive or from Netflix. Battery life is un-real! Really have no complains about it except that maybe I would prefer 8" rather than 7". Oh well . . . maybe the next one!

Great value!!! Fantastic product!!!

I bought this tablet on a boxing week event and has become completely addicted to it since I got out of the box!!! I was actually looking for the Nexus 7, but the minute I saw the price difference, I jumped on the GalaxyTab2. This is a bang for the buck 7" tablet. Thank you Samsung for giving us this very affordable good quality product, keep it up...

Great Tablet

For the price I paid I did not expect so much. Battery life around 10 hours if you set up all the saving options available in settings and despite the extensive use of the first time setting up. Screen is lovely and very well readable (do not use the brightness auto options in this case), detailed enough to easily read my magazines on Zinio and it is what is sucking up battery more than anything else despite brightness at a low level. Speakers are not the best, although not bad, but I use high quality head phone and I am back to great sound. Internet is sometimes a bit sluggish but acceptable. Lots of apps are available for almost everything needed, most of them free. Half of the 8 GB are already taken by the preset apps and the available space is definitely enough for whatever apps are needed on top. The addition of 32 GB is plenty for documents, pictures, movies, music, etc. Having the possibility to use this tablet as an unlocked phone would take this product very high in the rank of similar tablets. Samsung did a very good job.

Sleek design, flaw in storage offered

I bought two of these for the pre Christmas sale price thinking hey, they are Samsung, and what a great price for such a product. Performance wise a beautiful device, how it is totally hobbled in design flaw. The 8 GB internal memory (only which 4 GB is actually available for your use) was maxed out in 3 days, and there is absolutely NO way to transfer apps to the external card( it will only allow movies, pictures and other files.). Total deal breaker for me. They arrived on Dec 21st, and were returned Dec 30th. I am much happier with the 32GB Kobo Arcs I bought instead for the same prices the Galaxy Tabs are now at.

Amazing product for the price

I've been looking for a dual core tablet with decent specs thats 7". I came across the galaxy tab 2 7.0 and bought it. It runs ICS and will be upgraded to jelly bean which will give you a huge speed bump plus it will have the nexus 7 layout with a touchwiz overlay. I have to say that currently it lags a bit but once that buttery smooth jellybean update comes out, it will make huge improvements. The speaker quality is pretty descent with the stereo speakers... a lot better than the iPad mono speakers. I really enjoy using the IR blaster (universal remote) its easy to setup and connects to your tv and provider... no matter what brand or cabal provider. The storage is expandable up to 32 GB so your able to put most things onto it except apps but whos going to download a whole bunch of games (apps) on a 1 GHz dual core processor... if you are i don't recommend this tablet because its not built for intense graphics. The battery life isn't bad but is certainly better than an iPhone. The screen resolution is real low at 170 ppi but is higher than the ipad mini with an even more disappointing 163 ppi. It supports adobe flash and comes pre-installed with it but when the jelly bean update comes... there wont be anymore flash player unless you download it as a 3rd party app from xda-devolpers or another source on google. I INDEED RECOMMEND THIS TABLET.

worth the money

it's funny that people are complaining so much about this tablet, considering that it costs so much lesser than the Apple and Asus tablets, and yet they still compare it to those devices...and for the price during the sale, I just had to return my Blackberry Playbook which I had got for the same price (a terrible tablet with hardly any access to any apps, felt heavy and had such a bad grip), to get this piece of amazingness. Pros: the Android 4.0 with a possible update in the future, great screen quality, decent camera, nice grip, very good responsive touchscreen (compared to the Playbook, it felt like heaven), a wide selection of apps from the app store, great resolution when playing games and videos. Cons: battery life and the speakers. Otherwise, I am very happy with it. I am light user, and I am sure I don't need an expensive device such as the iPad or even the iPad mini...I use it as an e-reader, social networking, checking emails, browsing, playing games, etc. And it meets all my needs.

Not bad

I got this tablet when it was on sale [...] and I am happy with it. Major issue I have though is it runs slow sometimes and I have to keep clearing the ram to make it better. For the price it is a good tablet.

Almost Flawless

I purchase the nextbook with an android operating system by mistake, and boy was it ever a mistake, this Samsung is a King in front of that tablet. Con about this unit is the lack of moving to SD card. Pro is the ability to operate my tv from it and see the shows currently love this feature. Screen is a little grainy but you would only know that if you are accustom looking at HD tv. Moving through apps is flawless, and the ability to use your google play to download all your purchase apps from other android device makes it a plus. I am happy to see Nextflix on this unit because the nextbook I purchase could not and also did not have google i return it..I like the fact there is a rear camera but it could of use a flash and a higher mp camera. I was able to connect to my phone wifi and test the gps works great. Too bad it only have a 8gb drive I already use half of it already in the first day. Overall great product and recomend it to anyone.

Put it on my Tab!

This is my first tablet purchase though I've used a number of others that my friends have. As someone who works with computers all day I have to say it's more useful than I thought, more so than an iPad. I can connect with the Win/Linux computers on my LAN and get full access to their files in just a few touches of the screen or use a number of useful (and generally free) apps that suite my needs. The screen resolution and speed is a not quite as good as some other tablets costing much more but easily useable and I have no complaints on the battery life, it's pretty good. The 7" is nice size to carry about as well, fits into any large jacket pocket and with so much free Wifi around now it comes along for the ride more and more often. Quick Summary: Very useful tablet, great for the price, even more so when on sale!

Galaxy tab

PROS- [...] on sale -SD slot for extra memory -Back and front camera -User friendly -GPS CONS- low resolution -Poor camera -Only 8gb of internal memory -Most Android apps were made for phones not tablets -Can't transfer Apps to memory card -Slow performance If you want a tablet just for your basic needs like movies, music, pictures, Internet, books, games then this is perfect for you especially with the price but I just get disappointed every time I use my iPhone 4S and see how beautiful the pictures look and how faster it is.

Not a decent tablet

I got this tablet while it's on sale [...], and that's the only reason I got it. I tried it out before at bestbuy stores and the samsung store and it feels laggy; I thought it was because the amount of apps that were preloaded. After I got it, it was just laggy, and pretty much impossible to use. The stock OS(Samsung TouchWiz) came with millions of widgets that just slowed down the device, even doing some basic tasks (like opening the multitasking bar) took forever and was irresponsive. The design feels cheap, all plastic. The battery is horrible, I have to charge it every 4 days without using it. When I do use it, I have to charge it once a day. Considering it has a 4000mAh battery, it shouldn't be this horrible, since my iPad has a 6000 mAh battery and lasts for a week with use. It also takes forever to charge. The screen quality is good though, no pixelation or anything. The camera on the back is horrible. It's 3MP and there is no autofocus. Takes horrible shots at night. I tried to flash other ROMs on the tablet, but it just made it even laggier(Cyanogen mod, Jellybean Leaked, etc). Even reading a book (on the web or any other app) is horrible and takes forever to flip a page, and sometimes it just crashes. The speaker is horrific. The sound it produces isn't anywhere close to the sound from an iPhone or any [...] speaker accessory. Maybe that's my own opinion, but this tablet is not worth the money, not even when it's on sale. I'd rather throw in [more money] and get the Nexus 7. I can't stand lag. Games (such as Angry Birds, Temple Run, or Cut The Rope) run smoothly though. But if you're just using this for simple tasks, such as simple gaming, or light internet browsing/book reading, this tablet is for you. You can expect the Android JellyBean (4.1) update coming soon and making the overall experience smoother. But for now, it's not worth it.

Bought this item no complaints on performance, bud I do feel they use 8GB quite loosely considering mine had exactly 4.52GB of actual space. That's before the hardware. Not very impressed and I plan in returning it.

you can use only internal memory for apps

Unlike most of the android equipment I used before, this one does not allow you to store any apps on SD card. When you go to App Manager there is no button " move to SD" for any apps. So even though the tablet has slot for micro SD up to 32 GB, it is useless if you want to use SD for apps.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 2

Got this Tablet for my teenage daughter, she loves it and I had spent some time on it installing and linking it with my Gmail account the one that I use my for my Samsung Galaxy Nexus phone and let me tell you it's not like my iPad in anyway and my daughter does not need all of that as well apps on google Play Store are great. The battery life is better then on my iPad 3 as well as performance absolutely not slower or worse if not better. Too bad they are sold out everywhere in GTA area now but ill be getting a few for my mom and my younger sister as soon as they will become available again and price is amazing, you will not be disappointed with this buy! Go ahead and buy with confidence, you will not regret this purchase. Highly recommend this to everyone, Samsung did it again, Great Job guys at Samsung.

Cheap cheap cheap

Got it on sale [...], my first impression: it looks like an IPAD KNOCK OFF the screen size is to small, the plastic enclosure feels cheap I when held this tablet in my hand. The only thing I like about this tablet is the price, after using it for a day I didn't like it I'm going to return it for an IPad mini 7.9 inch or 9.7 inch retina iPad. Happy Holidays everybody...

best value

I choose this over the Google nexus. the following are my review:: Pro - feature rich. Will do everthing you expect from a tablet. - has front and back camera. Good for taking photos. - expandable micro SD memory, up to additional 32 GB. - has built in GPS. - light weight - ice cream sandwich android OS. - lots of apps between Google playstore and Samsung app center - tough and robust. Will survive accidental drops. Con - the tab2 actually has slower processor than tab1. Probably due to cost cutting for this price bracket - hard to grip or lay upright. The rounded edges and smooth slippery case is not easy to hood. - screen not the best resolution - battery life good for 6-8 hours of Netflix - speakers are mediocre: they face orthagonally from your ears Overall, best value because it has all the features i was expecting.

Samsung Tablet 7" Galaxy II

Very good tablet except for the battery which does not last more than 4 hours even on power saving mode. It certainly does not last 'up to 14 hours' as the manufacturers claim. This is a serious downside to an otherwise good product.

First off this is the best [$] i have ever spent i am even making this review with the tab then performance isn't the best but for [the price] you can't go wrong the only problem with it its battery life but if you are turning down the brightness you will get about 5 hours netflix on it is amazing so is everything really i highly recommend this product do not get a ipad you can't replace the battery or expand the storage and really all apple really is is just name i expanded my galaxy tab and the purchased a 32 gig micro sd i will never run out of space and the sd card was [extra $] this product is amazing
