Amazing Headphones

Before I start I want to say that I initially did a lot of research before buying these headphones. I am an audiophile and enjoy good quality sound. I've previously owned Bose QC 25's, Beats Pro, beats studio, and the UE 9000's. I do DJ as a causal hobby and bought these headphones for that exact use. At first I actually really disliked these headphones. The clamping force was much stronger than I've been used to in the past and actually left my head sore after a few hours of use. The build quality is outstanding and in addition to it's very robust design sennheiser supplies almost every part for this headphone through their online distributor. The Sound Quality: At first I thought they didn't sound very good at all. The highs have definitely been drawn back, and like other reviewers mentioned "rolled off" and took me a while to get used to the way the bass dominated in presence, however I definitely enjoyed most of the music I mix on a regular basis more because of the pronounced lows with no distortion at all. Listening to these headphones from an iPhone I felt didn't quite do them justice, after DJ'ing on my VCI-300 I was definitely able to notice the high resistance to the audio equipment. That's when I noticed the track separation and could feel the bass on every track. Coming from the UE 9000'S with have a V shaped sound signature the sennheisers were hard to get used to. But that being said, these are truly DJ headphones whereas my UE's are for listening on the go. So the difference is to be expected. I think that if you're a bass head or a professional DJ then these headphones definitely belong to the latter and I would seriously consider investing in a pair. I actually wanted to return them because of their sound stage but grew to love them and for what I use them for are absolutely worth their steep price tag even with the CAD low and a higher than normal price as a result.

This pair should only be [price] at the lowest. Generally now had for higher because of the recent lowering in the CAD. This is the perfect low frequency headphone I have ever experienced as a closed-back design headphone. The only problem is comfort. The headband doesn't have enough cushioning that causes some irritation after a few hours. The build quality and sound is on a whole other level compared to any closed-back headphones in the market. #ATH-M50aregarbage
