Mediocre Sound

I returned mine after a day due to issues of cutting out. First they were cutting out due to a slightly depleted battery, but after replacing them with completely fresh batteries the issue persisted (though much less frequently). The sound is OK. Equivalent to a smaller pair of mid-sized bookshelf speakers. Mids and highs are clear but a bit harsh. This could cause fatigue for people who want to listen for a few hours. There is virtually no bottom end since it drops off at about the spot where said bookshelf speaker would. They will sound infinitely better than just your TV though. When the sound works the transmission quality is flawless. No white noise; no hum.

Very pleased with the RS160

These are great. Very rich sound and good bass. Easy set-up. Manual on disc was included. Bought 2 sets and followed simple instructions to connect both headphones to a single transmitter. The headphones only weigh 250 grams with batteries installed. Ear pads do warm a little but no discomfort. Excellent sound reception throughout our home including inside our garage. Did experience RS 160 transmitter signal drops because of nearby Wi-Fi modem initially so relocated modem - problem solved.

Amazing sound and Comfort

I checked out reviews on these headphones before purchasing and decided that I would order a pair based on customer satisfaction. I am so glad I did. The deal (at the time) was 50% off so i wanted to take advantage of that. I use headphones at work and often stand up from my chair and get caught in my headphone cords. These take that risk away plus the sound is SO much better than my older Phillips headphones. The ear pieces are shaped well and are super comfortable. I totally recommend these headphones.

Simply Amazing

This is a must buy at any price! The sound is great despite some nit-picky people. These head phones make you appreciate what you're watching way more with the built in surround sound and makes you realize how poor your stock tv speakers are. Very comfortable (ears start to get sore after a few hours but that's normal). Battery life is amazing and the wireless range is great and hasn't gone down or choppy for me yet. I have been using this product for over 3 months and the only words I have for this is, Simply Amazing.

RS160 Get them while you can

I researched the available models for a person in long term care. These are easy to use and charge. Volume and power switch is all on the same side. Great sound. Very highly rated by people in the music field.

excellent value

I had a pair of RCA headphones for 10 years until they broke down.I purchased a cheap pair ($60.00) to replace them the sound quality was crap with constant hissing and no adjustment after 20 min feels like someone is crushing your head. They got tossed in the garbage as soon as Sennheiser set arrived ...What a difference The sound is fantastic they are adjustable and comfortable I like the fact you can use regular or rechargeable batteries AAA if they go dead you can swap out immediately. You get what you pay for buy these.

Great Purchase

Easy to set up and to turn on and off. Superior sound quality. Range is surprising, can go around a corner, through a door and into the garage. Comfort is alright, not much to compare it to, so could be standard for over-the-ear headphones. On sale for [price], can't beat the price for the value received.

Sennheiser know what they're doing.

I've waited to try them out before commenting, I've had mine now since July 2015. Bought them strictly to use while watching late when the wife and kids are asleep. Never had any other so can't compare. Wanted wireless headphones. Reviewers of other makes and models suggested cheaper wasn't better so I thought I'd try these for fun. Didn't get as good a deal as I'm seeing now, but no complaints. Sound quality - check. Range - check. Comfort (for me, not more than 3 hours straight) - check. Ease of use - check. (Once you learn how to use something, then you know, ya know?) If they were full retail, I'd probably go less expensive. I got about 30% off. I'm seeing 50% right now on BB.ca. I'd call that a very good deal. Color me happy with mine, I'm hoping your experience would be the same.

Decent Headphones

I had originally bought the Sony MDRHW300K wireless headphones and they were exactly what I wanted. Easy to hook up and comfortable. Then the sound. It was like listening through mud. Any bass was distorted and when no sound was playing I got a really high feedback. Returned the Sony's and bought the Sennheiser RS160's. Here's where you lose comfort but do get way better sound. For what they were on sale on Boxing Day, they were a great buy. Range wasn't as far as the Sony's (lost connection when I went downstairs) and my ears hurt a little from the tightness of the headphones. There was no stopping of my wi-fi when using these and zero feedback when nothing was playing. They are absolutely not worth the retail price by any means but the 1/2 price Boxing Day sale was worth it.

Good performance, poor compatibility

I bought RS160 during Boxing Day Sale. The price was good, and its performance didn't make me disappointed. However, you will feel uncomfortable after using it for about two or three hours. And the worst thing is that I lost my WiFi connection every single time I use this headphone.

Great headphones only at sale price.

Sound is 8 out of 10 (plenty of bass, but not overwhelming - probably just right for majority of listeners). Non-bluetooth wireless headphones are usually bulky and ugly, but these don't seem too bad. A minor annoying is that the transmitter requires a manual sync when you change audio sources. Comfort is 7 out of 10. Headphone does not slide off head if you tilt forward. Ears may start to heat, but not to the point of discomfort. At a sale price of [price], these are awesome. I would not pay $300 for these.

Excellent Choice

So far, I am very happy with my Sennheiser Wireless RS 160 headphones. Very easy to set up. The headset is very comfortable to wear and the fit over the ears is nice. I used them for the first time yesterday, watching the Hockey Winter Classic from Ann Arbor on TV. The little sounds that I could hear, noise from the people in the stands was remarkable. I probably would have missed it sitting on my couch 14 feet (4.2 meters) away from the TV. Today, I am listening to CBC Radio 1 FM from my Bose Wave that is in the kitchen, while I work at my computer in another room. This is good because my wife is a nurse and worked last night and is now sleeping upstairs. No noise for her to hear. Great. I should have done this years ago. The sale price was a "no brainer".

Average headphones - wireless is only good thing

Pros: Wireless range is phenomenal. I can leave the transmitter anywhere in the house plugged into a sound source and the signal doesn't get distorted. I also use these with my PS3; I can connect the transmitter to the PS3 using a 3.5mm male to RCA stereo female adapter and can easily use them anywhere in the room (having a wireless controller and wireless headphones) If you have the right batteries, the headphones and transmitter are rechargeable and have decent battery life. Cons: The sound quality is simply average. If you have ever listened to music with better headphones you'll notice that a frequency response range of 18-21000 Hz isn't that good at all. And obviously, transmitting the sound signal wirelessly will never be as good as through a wire. The leatherette pads on each ear aren't as good as rubber ones. Not only do they look cheap, when you move while wearing them, you can hear them rubbing against your head. The headphones don't come with a case of any sort, which is unpleasant, because I would like to keep something this expensive safe when I'm not using it. The adjustable headband is really stiff and difficult to adjust (although this is just a minor problem, as once you get it to the right size there isn't much reason to change the size) The headphones don't come with batteries for the transmitter, only for the headphones, which sucks, because to be able to recharge both, you need to purchase your own rechargeable AA batteries. Overall, I would not suggest ever paying the full price for these. I got them on sale for [price] and I even consider that a stretch.

Sennheiser Wireless Headphones (RS 160)

This is an amazing Headphone. Price is a steal on Boxing day online Sale. Very good sound quality specially when watching Blu Ray movies or streaming my MKV DTS movies. No non-sense set-up just plug and play. I highly recommended this product. I have been searching for a new set to replace my cord one and this is one. You can also take it you anywhere. Very comfy on the head and ears. Cheers.

Excellent headphones!

I bought a pair of these during the Boxing Day Sale, I was looking for a pair of wireless headphones to watch TV late at night without disturbing the wife. I'm impressed at the sound quality, very clear, no static at all. I'm able to wear them anywhere in my condo without them cutting out once. I'm a little disappointed in the bass, it falls a little short. Other than that they are a great pair of wireless headphones and I would recommend them at the right price.

Excellent

I wanted to get this as a gift for a friend but I gave in to my temptation to try it on myself. I was so AMAZED by the sound quality and bass. I bought my friend cheap SkullCandy headphones (yes the crappy kind) and kept this for myself. He was not at all happy when he found out and we are no longer friends, but this was worth it.

I am happy with RS 160

After considering buying RS 180 I decided to go for RS 160 instead, because RS 180 were a bit expensive for me, plus RS 160 were on sale. The headphones are very comfortable. I like that closed caps almost completely block outside noise. There is no hissing noise, like in all FM headphones. The sound is crisp, the base is good. I use a Yamaha amplifier, and the sound quality is excellent. My only complaint is that volume control buttons are not very tactile and are hard to find. An on/off button is sitting right between volume buttons (who designed this??) and is easy to press it by mistake.
