Remote and Roku portion is a rip off

The sharp TV picture is good, but you can't use a universal remote as the TV defaults to the remote that is supplied by the TV, so you have to use their remote. Because of the Roku incorporated into the TV, you can not stream Netflix or anything else without taking out a subscription. This TV has too many negative features, I have decided to scrap it and buy some other 32" TV from BestBuy that doesn't require me to use their supplied remote, or be ripped off by Roku for a subscription fee, when I can stream free on any other smart TV.

USB is practically useless. Doesn't support a lot of popular file formats. One of the reasons I bought this TV is to watch my movies from a USB stick. Most of them are unsupported. Very disappointing. It's hard to imagine that in today's technological world this TV supports just a limited number of file formats. Also, the remote is small with an astonishing lack of functions. You want to go to a specific channel? You'll have to scroll through all the channels, since there's no number pad. The volume and mute controls are badly placed as well. They are located on the side of the remote. Every time you pick it up, you accidentally push the mute or volume controls, which is annoying.

Great TV

I bought this television as a replacement for a Samsung that lasted two years and died (It turned itself off and wouldn't turn on again). I use it for a bedroom TV. The picture is great, the sound is super, it doesn't sound tinny like the Samsung (which also buzzed) and I like the Roku TV feature alot. My only complaint is the remote with the volume controls on the side, it feels awkward. I'd like a normal remote where buttons are on the face and length is normal size and not small. It isn't a deal breaker. Would I buy another one, absolutely as long as they build them this good I'll buy another.

Exactly what I expected!

I'm very happy with the tv I purchased and had delivered. I bought this tv for my bedroom and it's exactly what I needed to upgrade my old tube tv. Picture quality is great, easy to setup and user friendly. I mostly use it just to watch tv, haven't seen any Blurays yet but I'm sure it will deliver there too. I've only had the tv for a few weeks but so far I would definitely recommend to others.

Fair value

Bought this on sale when it was the same price as the non-smart version. Overall this is a good experience. Roku has a very intuitive user interface and powerful mobile and tablet app to control and broadcast to it. The other plus is that the smart interface isn't as laggy as the 2012 Samsung TV I had before. The only con is that it seems that on max brightness, it's still a little darker than competitors. But the image sharpness is quite good. I will definitely become an ambassador for Roku now.

Great picture and soud quality!

I purchased this TV for my bedroom. It was very easy to set up, and the sound and picture quality is quite nice for the price. The built in Roku player is convenient, and I mostly use this TV for streaming content like Netflix and Youtube. The back of the TV set at the bottom, isn't as low profile as I'd prefer for it to be since I have it mounted against the wall. However, this is just a matter of aesthetics and not an actual issue. I would recommend this TV.

Great TV

Bought the TV for the bedroom. Perfect size, sounds picture, everything is great. We've always been a fan of Sharp TVs and this was great.

TV ok. "Smart TV" not so much

Sharp TV quality and features are ok. In order to be a Smart TV you must subscribe to Roku. I found this co-marketing trick to be very irritating. I would rather be given the option as to what content service provider I choose.

A pretty awesome TV, so far. Very easy-to-use and setting up Roku so simple. I would recommend this TV to anyone who wants a nice TV for a smaller room.

SHARP Roku TV - typical SHARP quality

SHARP has been improving! This TV is a dream for 1080p gaming and even 480p (old school console games) and will also do well on movies. Very easy and quick setup and Roku is a fantastic service. WiFi is lighting quick. For optimal image quality and color saturation adjust to your liking and it may be very difficult to find a comparable TV at this price point.

Sharp 32" 1080p LED Roku Smart TV (LC-32LB481C)

Excellent value for the money. We are very happy with this TV so far. I have only 2 criticisms. First, the two side mount table legs that come with the TV we thought were quite unattractive, so we ended up wall mounted the TV. Second, the power off stand-by led is bright red and a bit annoying at night. Maybe there is a way to turn it off?

Works great no issues

Twice I purchased a TV and had to return it and ended up buying a SHARP Roku tv and the new Sharp TV gave me no issue. I bought a smart TV thinking I could watch Netflix and it wouldn't hold the internet connection so I went back and got a Sharp Roku and it worked great. Then my daughter wanted a tv in her room and i bought another low end brand name with a Roku built in and it wouldn't keep the connection with our internet. Not even an inch from the modem so that was pathetic. I returned that tv and bought a 2nd SHARP tv with built in Roku and it worked perfectly... so twice I was pleased with my Sharp tv so I would recommend it.

Sharp 32" 1080p LED Roku Smart TV (LC-32LB481C)

Clear, crisp picture. The remote is easy to navigate. My only complaint is that the legs are rather "spindly".

Worth every penny

While this unit is an entry-level tv, for the price there is no competition. The built-in Roku is far superior to any other Smart TV out there. The 1080p screen is very crisp and provides decent contrast and colours. I'm using this as a secondary TV in the bedroom. Of note, the unit supports dual band Wifi, including 5Ghz which is essential for high quality video streaming and a great feature on an entry-level TV. Overall, very happy with this purchase.

Good value, nice performance

Good picture quality, nice and easy set up. Perfect set for the kitchen island. It works for me for free, connected to indoor antenna in Oakville. On the 4th floor we receive Buffalo PBS, TVO, CHCH Hamilton, Global Toronto, CBC and some more... Picture from std video disc movie fantastic.

Great value for the price

I bought this TV recently on sale. The picture and sound quality are good. I wasn't familiar with the Roku software before but it's great for TV/video streaming. It's really simple and intuitive to use. You can download an app to your phone to use it instead as a remote which is awesome. There are a number of different settings including ones to change the sound quality based on what you're watching. Main downside so far is projecting the computer to the TV screen - there's not a suitable picture size setting that maximizes the screen use so either part of the video is cut off, stretches or it's a small awkward size. Other than that, great value for the price.

Good TV for Price

I just recently bought this tv and for the most part it works great. I'm using it as a monitor for my computer for gaming. When setting it up the image was too big for my background, but a button called Game Mode immediately fixed it and matched it with the PC. The graphics look way better and sharper than a typical older 720 or 780 pixel tv. There is one issue that is annoying though. The tv gives a humming noise. So I'm hoping it won't die on me and just a cheap circuit. But for a budget tv the price is great, and it's a very loud tv even at even lower volumes. If you are looking for a budget tv I would recommend it. I'm sure not every tv will be humming like this. But if you want to spend more money or able to get a better model I'd go for it. I just believe spending alot of money on a tv can be a waste. My tv that I just replaced was an Emerson and the picture and sound were just fine and it only cost me around 250 dollars. Had it for 4-5 years, but was only 720 or 780 pixels. I hope this review is of help to anyone considering this tv or another. 4 stars but not 5 because of humming noise.
