Absolute Bargain for the Home Player

I've played a lot of cheap guitars in my day. Despite the price tag, this is anything but that. Looks great, feels like and looks like it's made of quality, sounds beautiful (is comparable to most Fenders), and did not break the bank. If I have to buy again, I'll be hard pressed not to pick another one of these up. If you're a serious or live performer this would be better than some of the more expensive alternatives, but I take it if you're looking for guitars on Bestbuy and you stopped at this price line, you're more of a casual player. In that case, utter perfection.

Best Bang for the Buck

Bought it New Years Eve, as it was still on sale and for that money... my expectations were low. I have played for 30+ years and have owned good, bad and great guitars... this one is surprisingly good! I will be doing some upgrades to it, but not to the neck, body or pickups which so far are soo good! Nice Strat like tone, nice straight neck and overall, especially if you get it on sale a great little guitar!

Great buy

Decided to pick one up the other day wanted to try a SSS Strat for some time and couldn't justify the cost of a "real" Fender. Tried a Squire about 10 years ago, it was a piece of junk, so I wasn't expecting much out of this. Very surprised at how good it is. Came out of the box pretty well set up, seems to stay in tune well, nice frets great neck and pickups, actually very happy with it. Only complaint was some rust on the pickguard screws and tarnish on some frets, not a big deal as long as there isn't any corrosion in the pots or wiring. More than likely caused by condensation from shipping or storage in a warehouse that was too cold.

decent strat

Hey, just picked one of these up today. I didn't use to like Strats all that much till a friend got one. After seeing the versatility and hearing the sounds these can make I'm a fan now. This Vintage Modified 70's makes four now. They all sound different, good but different. The Vintage Modified 70's is a little warmer than the rest which I like. The quality seems pretty good. It looks just beautiful and plays good. If you are looking for your first Strat, or fourth, this is a good purchase. Money well spent.
