Great when working; somewhat sporadic

2014: Apple store courtesy wifi, my initial iOS device app deliverer - suddenly blocks SE port or IP (the app distributor blocking its own customers' use of their app was somewhat discouraging). 2014-15: earlier SE app on Win7 sometimes drops VPN in public Wifi setting without warning, possibly exposing session keys. 2015-16: multiple SE profiles present in iOS VPN settings from app updates, one which seemingly only connects to San Fran server. 2016: earlier SE app on Android/ public wifi ceases connecting to server - no login - had worked well previously. Will have to re/re. It ISvpn cool with varied device support. Prospective users: ask your carrier if they block VPN ports; apparently my breezy one does. SE's help is friendly, earnest, may not fully answer technical queries.

SurfEasy Total VPN

Pesonally, I had a very bad experience with this product. Did not work when first installed. After being updated, started to show "not connected" messages and when I tried to uninstall this program, it was very difficult. Would not recommend.

Pros and Cons

I'm not sure it's secure over networks connected by cable, but over wireless I am more confident. My speed varies according to where the server is located. Some locations, like the UK, almost always freeze my AOL mail accounts and I have to reset the passwords. There are six locations to choose from. It's great for shopping when there are restrictions according to your location.

Oh No it Doesn't

Webspeed is highly dependent on the location you choose for the available SurfEasy servers. Brazil, for eg., compared to Signapore is like comparing a tortoise to a hare. And if anyone tried connecting to Brazil during the recent Word Cup, well good luck with that. I certainly couldn't. I use these countries the most, unless I'm shopping USA, or watching podcasts locally, (Canada,) as they have the least amount of internet restrictions at available hotspots. The bugs have been pretty much worked out since I first got SurfEasy a year ago. However, it doesn't always reset itself when bringing my computer out of sleep mode. Otherwise it's a really good product, that needs more on sale promotions.

Does what it says....but

VPN on 5 units is great, but don't expect high speed. My 50 mb/s is choked down to .18-6.0 ,m/s depending on the time of day.
