Old product

It use to be a good product, it's npw obsolete by the F770 and soon to be (July 2017) the new F800 air. How come best best still carry this one?

Waste of money

I liked the form factor, looks good, not too big, sits behind the mirror, video seems OK to me (files however only 1min long and you cannot change that), however when you use it for a while you start noticing that the product is sort of "half-baked"... Functionality like Lane Departure Warning System produce too many false positives - it reacts to black road repair lines in the middle of the lane... making beeping so annoying you turn it of, Forward Collision Warning System - did not feel useful too, Front Vehicle Departure Warning - never worked for me at all. So I ended up turning all off... constant beeping is just too annoying. This stuff is of course built into the price but totally useless to my opinion. Constant voice requests to format you card regularly... what's that about? none of dash cams I had before required that, I ended up configuring the camera to volume=0 that's the only way to stop those silly voice prompts, so it's now totally quiet... The configuration allows only % memory allocation so the bigger the card you buy the more space would be just wasted... because XX % always allocated to incident recording (taking space from continuous recording)... stuff like that... just odd. Finally it killed my SD card. The 16gb memory card was included in the box, I wanted more, bought 64gb, the card lasted a few months and then the camera would not start any more, it would just try to start and then keep rebooting indefinitely, turns out it killed the SD card. Once the card was replaced it started to work again, but imagine trying to figure that out... And the manual says to use only think-ware cards... seriously?... Waste of money, would not buy again... Oh, and, tried to call tech support a few times over that issue, - nobody answered...

My first dash cam

I bought both the front and rear cam, as recommended from my car mechanic friend. If you are not a handy man, I will recommend you to hire a professional to do the installation part, especially on the hard wiring to the vehicle battery. After installation, it is super easy to use. Just download the "Thinkware dashcam viewer" and "MX player" from google play store, and you can download any video within min (before police arrive in case of accident). Picture quality is excellent, both daytime and nighttime (with headlight on). One thing to remind you is the video clip size is 82MB, that means it will be too big to send as an attachment for most of the email account. My need to use 'Drop Box" for sharing video. If you want to know all the little details, I will suggest you to download the online manual, and read it through one time, and you will become an expert on this device. Will buy one more set for my wife's car, if it is on sale.

Perfect Eye Witness

I read a lot of reviews of different brands, but one came up with the rest and it is Thinkware F750. I choose this camera because I want the flexibility of having another camera at the back of my car at a later time while securing my investment not to be burned from extreme weather and has wi-fi and gps capability. Surely thinkware F750 is a must to have camera for your security and guaranteed unmatchable from any brands.

Avoid Thinkware

I was using Thinkware's app on my Galaxy Note 4. Live view exhibits grainy pixelated low definition images. File preview does not work properly which means you must download files to your smartphone internal storage in order to see them! (Or remove the micro sd card for computer playback).I had purchased the Blackvue cam on sale for [price] at same time for comparison. The Blackvue camera has excellent live view and file playback capability with perfect video quality. I immediately returned the Thinkware cam and purchased 2 more Blackvue units. Blackvue's app works flawlessly. In summary, Thinkware is an overpriced product with a player app which is impractical to use with an Android smart phone. Save yourself from the frustrations that come with Thinkware ownership.

I previously used a Garmin Virb as a dash camera. Since the Virb's primary purpose is not for a dash camera, it had its limitations. The difference to the Virb (or any action camera) and F750 is literally night and day. Smartphone integration is excellent for downloading clips and changing settings. Also, the low light performance is drastically improved.

First Impression on Thinkware F750

Just arrived today. Daylight video is good on an overcast day, the 28th. Early evening video is not bad either. An upgrade from my Genius and DOD units. Mind you, they are both 3+ years old and the technology has advanced. Waiting for a very sunny day and a dark road or highway to judge the video. The viewer download works well. Lane departure warning works with a slight delay. LoL, no warning for imminent collision alerts. Which is good! Debating on the optional back camera. Need more gift cards! ;)

Great camera, Hardwiring cable too short

This camera is pretty nice, but the quality of the video doesn't appear to be as good as I've hope for and looks a little worries than some reviews. Not sure if is just my unit or my windscreen angle. Overall the camera is very nice. Con: - very disappointed that they choose to use the stupid grey 3M tape for the base, which make it stand out in a ugly way. It would not kill them to use a black one. That's just stupid oversight on their part. Hopefully they will smarten up on the next release. - The hardwiring cable is so short... is barely long enough to wire to my side fuse box... I think the hardwire kit you can buy separately say 5M. The wire that comes in this package is not 5M... is just 3M... WTH! That's just retarded that they did not mention the length of the hardwire cable and that they would put a shorter one in the package. Sadly, this camera is decent, but these detail that they fail at makes me want to return it. I think Blackvue comes in a smarter package...
