Works okay for a few months

I bought this about a year ago to have some evidence in case of a car related incident. I had a close call against a bad driver today and found out the dashcam has not been recording since last month. I format that memory card whenever the dashcam advices. Do not know why this is happening but it is a big red flag if you are looking for something reliable.

Decent dashcam

My first dashcam, so I don't have much to compare it to. It fit in our Ford Fusion nicely. However in our 2017 Escape, the mirror sits very high in the windshield. I don't want to see the dashcam blocking me, I wanted it behind the mirror - out of sight. So I kept one of the two X350's that I bought for the Fusion, and bought a Thinkware F50 (on sale) for the Escape.

Do not recommend

+ Video quality is average for this price range Built in Wi-Fi - Windshield mount is a disaster, If you want to change its position or windshield you have to buy a new mount, which you cannot find in Canada or you can order it on-line but it really pricey with delivery. - every few days dashcam formats SD card automatically and it is really annoying. - it has only 140-degree viewing angle which is not enough.

Does the job well

Luckily I have not (yet) needed it as a witness, but I can say that my experience with this dash cam have been positive. A neat small package arrived, and it was less than an hour later that it was functioning correctly in my car. The only thing that held me back that long was not realizing that the manual was on the SD card. The quick start was adequate to get it in the car and hooked up. The power connection supplied appears to be of adequate gauge and probable longevity, and was long enough that I not only hid it successfully in the headliner, down the A pillar, and across the passenger footwell; but also along the centre console and into the auxiliary power outlet between the seats. The picture is very clear, and reasonable even in night time in the city. The controls are easily accessed and understood. The videos are divided into 1 minute segments, and are titled by their time of generation. They can be viewed on the camera or on your PC (assuming Mac or Windows) or even on your phone or a tablet via Wi-Fi, which I find useful because I only have Windows in a window (virtual PC) available on my Linux machines. One oddity was that apparently some of the settings (such as date and time zone) need to be entered on a computer, using the supplied Viewer program. Not sure why that is, but it easy to do assuming you have a SD reader on your system. Overall, very pleased - especially with the 'extra' features - and with not being REQUIRED to have a GPS to get those useful features (though it is available as an add-on, if having your road speed showing on the video is not a problem :) Also - is not having any difficulty with the winter weather so far, although it does not claim being able to handle SERIOUS winter weather (-40 range).

Great Dash Cam!

Highly recommend this dash camera. Clear picture and sound quality. Perfect size so it isn't very noticeable while driving and easy to store should you want to remove it at night. We purchased the extra long cable and ran the lines as per the installation diagram so no cable can be seen from the port to the camera. Unfortunately the X350 doesn't have a rear camera that you can purchase. Only the X500 and X750 models have rear cameras as accessories should you wish to purchase.

Works fine

I've had it for a month or so now. The installation instructions leave a bit to desire, what it should have said, or I should have thought about, is to place the mount far enough away from the rear-view mirror post so when I slide the dashcam side-ways off it's mount, it can be easily removed. I like the audio feature, it says when the continuous recording is starting. You don't have to start it, it does so automatically. Takes clear video, continuous recording makes so much sense too. The micro-SD memory card is supposed to be formatted every so often, to preserve data integrity. There is a voice reminder to do this. Would be nice if you didn't have to format regularly though, as it is a bit of a nuisance. It has the capability to add GPS monitoring, it doesn't appear that Best Buy carries it though. At least online from what I could see. Overall, happy with it. I like the idea of the 3M mount too, it's small and un-noticeable. Not sure how easily it can be removed once I have a reason/need to do that though.

Reccomend this cam

Great dash cam! The quality of day and night time vidoe is very good. And the fact that power cable is very long allows you to hide it in your car.
