Poor throughput

With 1 laptop it works great, but as soon as I use wi-fi with my iphone signal slows to a crawl. It's just outdated technology that's why its so cheap. Returned for a $...netgear router. Don't cheap out on your router. You don't notice its so slow with a cheap router until you get a decent $...router.

Router: fair but not great

Router lost wireless connection frequently until I manually adjusted some settings following online advice. Wireless works fine now. Hardwired LAN connection also induces "wake-up from sleep issues" on my desktop. Simply stated it won't wake up. Computer restart is sometimes the only solution. I haven't solved this issue yet but have read online that a firmware downgrade addresses the problem. I'm using fully up-to-dated (2014/09/19) Windows 8.1.

Good, but stopped working after 2 months

I was very happy with this router, but after 2 months stopped working. I lost the receipt so I'll just buy another router. I don't know if I was unlucky or if the quality is not good at all.

No more - "network unavailable"

Ordered on a Thursday and got it in the mail on Tuesday. I recommend using small cd to help install. Took me maybe 15 minutes. Two smartphones, two tablets, ps3 and Wii all wireless in my house and this router works for all without a problem. I even get good signal in my backyard.

Great Router

I have had this router for 3 weeks. This router is very fast if you are within 30 feet. It has not needed a reset in the 3 weeks that I have had it. I set it up manually and had no issues. Was up and running in 15 min's.

Great Router

Have been using this router for 2 days now as a replacement for my Dlink which started dropping connections every 5 minutes out of the blue. This router picked up where the Dlink left off and went flying. I am getting great signal strength all through my home. Really great speeds, no slow down from the router. I am amazed at the price and how easy it was to set up. I by passed the install CD and just manually set it up through a browser window.

Repeat buyer.

When I needed a second wireless router, I again chose TP-Link. Fast and reliable wifi signal. The same model (WR841N) that I bought in 2010 has v5 internals, so it works with a DD-WRT firmware upgrade. The newer unit that I just received has v8 internals, which DD-WRT doesn't support (as of this review). The benefit of DD-WRT is seemless operation with DNS-O-Matic, for free parental-control service with OpenDNS. Nonetheless, I like the configurability and reliability of TP-Link's product. Unlike the older unit, this new one has an on/off button, and a switch to disable/enable the wireless function.

Worst Router !!

Getting 30mbps when my computer is connected directly through cable... but when I connect through wifi.. I only get 11mbps!! So, Don't buy if you want full speed connection... Going to return it now..!!

Simple, carefree...if you know what you're doing

I took like 1 hour to install this router. But that was because my internet goes to my phone router as well...that was a bit tricky. Other than that, installation was a breeze. This router is totally worth its price. Actually, I got it a few bucks more expensive than this. So [the price] is definitely worth it.

Easy to install, great so far

I purchased this router becuase it had excellent reviews on amazon.com and it was a great price. This is my first wireless router so I can't compare it to other experiences, but so far it has been excellent. It was simple to install, and it works well in my small space. The router gets only slightly warm on the bottom. I used the installation wizard on my laptop which was simple to follow. The only blip during installation was when it asked if my ISP provided a dynamic or static IP or an EEEoP connection. I had no clue and additional information or instructions on how to find this out were missing. I picked dynamic at random and it seemed to work. Very please with this router so far.
