No split screen and completely different game

Was once an amazing series of games. Now everything is different and too complicated. I would rather plan halo 2 any day. No split screen is just robbery. Wish I would have checked before buying because I was planning on playing split screen with friends more than online. Will likely sell my copy

Halo 5

Have always been a Halo fan. The XBOX One version has great graphics and good story line. Got it on sale during boxing day, otherwise a bit pricey.

No co-op support.

I knew that there was no co-op before I bought this, but I love halo anyway so I bought it. I finished the campaign and it was fun, but I wanted more. The jet-pack was probably the best thing about this halo. Its fair, always givng you a chance to evade when needed but needs time to recharge. Haven't tried the multiplayer yet, but I will soon. Performance was probably the best I've seen on Xbox One - constant 60fps during firefights and it only stuttered when entering new areas, but there was no action during these moments. Lots of draw distance pop-in, and the shadow map LOD is very close to the player, which you can see appearing and can be distracting. No matter what the cost, I prefer locked FPS, especially for competitive play. No co-op - the only thing that was dissapointing. I always play Halo with my dad, but I can't this time around... Ordered this November 29th and it came on January 7th, within the stated ETA from BestBuy. Will order more stuff in the future!

No split screen co-op

They have removed the best thing about HALO. After you play the mission yourself, you play with friends in co-op or you have a group over to shoot each other. You can't do that anymore. That makes this game almost worthless. Luckily I haven't opened mine up yet. I'm taking it back and getting my money back. I'll probably buy it sometime later when it hits the bargain bin, but not now at full price, or even at a slightly reduced sale price.

No local multi-player

This release of Halo removes support for local multi-player games. This means no sitting on the couch and playing together with your friends or family. For our family this was the main draw of the Halo series. If you want multi-player you need to purchase a separate copy of Halo 5 and run it on a different console, oh and you'll need a XBox Live Gold membership.

Amazing Service From Best Buy

This review is not about the game itself, but the rating I give Best Buy (as it should technically be). -came the SECOND they said it would -was allowed to pay in a plethora of ways (paypal, visa, debit, cash, etc) -game came without a scratch -game was not too obvious it was a game (lessened change of robbery) -FREE shipping -easy and fast checkout -lack of plastic paper, and all that junk that makes it hard to open 5/5 would buy from Best Buy again, and would recommend to a friend.

Good Game, short storyline

overall, this game is worth playing, the levels are long, but the storyline is shorter than expected. Multiplayer is also fun, but warzone could use more levels. Req packs add a little fun to the game. Graphics are amazing.

AMAZING!!!

Graphics are amazing, campaign is solid, multiplayer is great. I agree with other reviews that no splitscreen is a big disappointment but overall an Amazing game. I love all the unique weapons in the game and wud highly recommend buying this game to everyone. Really there is only 2 flaws......No splitscreen and weak customization but still overall worth the money.

Great multi, decent campaign

The multiplayer, especially Warzone, is great and addictive. Campaign, as usual, seems tacked on.

Its just a meh

The campaign was meh, doesn't have the old halo thrill, multiplayer feels like cod 3022, warZone is basically paytowin, lol..kinda disappointed

Great game, but no splitscreen co-op/multiplayer

Great game, but no splitscreen co-op/multiplayer. Would have given 5 star if it had that. Great gameplay and graphics overall though.

Multiplayer is back!

So yes, no split screen. But that aside this game is fun! Better story then Halo 4. And the multiplayer is different, but great! It's taken a refreshing change but still maintains its halo-ness. I would have given this a 5 out of 5, but the campagin was way to short and yes of course, no split screen.

Combat has evolved

Best Halo ever. Great campaign even if you don't play as the Chief enough. Awesome level design and player mobility makes for fun encounters. Sorry to the four or five people who still play splitscreen but i'll take 60fps over your nostalgia any day.

Dissapointment

Campaign was uninteresting. Level design was not fun. Multiplayer falls short of previous games. Warzone however was good and fun.

Great for Second-in-trilogy

Campaign is just for setting up the next game, but isn't horrible. Multiplayer is certainly it's best feature. As for no splitscreen, only an immature "gamer" would let that affect their rating. I expect to put hundreds of hours into MP with my friends...

Best playing Halo, best Shooter this year

Halo 5 is a little faster than the older games, but the shooting mechanics are the best of any shooter this year and is as equaly good as Destiny which everyone could agree had the best satisfaction, best shooting mechanics of any game that has so far come out this generation. There is no Splitscreen, which sucks but that was announced over 6 months ago, so it shouldn't be a surprise. The story is great, super well put.... iF you have read the other lore material to halo. If you haven't there are few times where the plot jumps and you may be a little lost, but it does in the end tie its self all together nicely within the game. Overall its 5 stars because mutilplayer is SO GOOD, its amazing how good the game now plays. The movement is now faster but not so fast that still makes you feel like your 800lbs in metal armor. It also uses great use of the jet pack feature to give the game new vertical play.

worst halo yet.

This halo has lost what I'm my opinion made the series so great. It doesn't have the feel it used to that made me want to keep playing. Also lost split screen which was what I always enjoyed playing in my household if I were to play multiplayer.

Halo for the next gen console

What else can we say, it's the Halo we enjoy and love with the power of the Xbox one. Stunning cinematics, good champagne story and the multi player works well. Overall very impressed with it.

Not bad at all

This is the first time I've owned a Halo game (or an xbox). I've always been a fan of fps games so I was really excited to play in the legendary halo universe. The single player campaign is really easy, but fun. The guns are a blast and I loved testing out every new weapon I found. The meat of any fps is the multi player and this is where Halo excels. Great maps and a ton of action. Overall this isn't the best fps I've played, but I can see myself wasting hours online. Worth picking up.

Not bad, could have been better.

Campaign is fantastic and o line mp mode is fun as well. Like others I am upset because there is no split screen play. Seems like a lot of games are getting rid of this feature and that's really too bad. Splitscreen aside, the game play is a lot of fun. Very smooth and the story again is fantastic. Have been a halo fan since the first game.

Great game, one of the best Halos

Over all I thought the game play was great! The weapons feel very balanced and I love the zoom on them. The Prometheans are much less annoying than in halo 4. The levels are very different too, I liked being able to climb everything, and the various paths and back entrances you can take. The story was pretty good in my opinion (disclosure : I have read a lot about the extended universe). I wasnt sure who the real villain was until late in the game. Also having squad mates means that there was a lot more dialogue. The multiplayer is some of the best ever. Grinding for REQ packs is addictive yet fun to do. The new mobility options work very well in the game. Warzone is fun and so is Arena, I'm constantly switching between the two of them

No so Halo....

bought this during launch day, played through campaign mode, watched my boys play online with their cousins and was amazed at almost everything. I say "almost everything" because MS took out splitscreen option. The best part for me about playing Halo games is when I get to play with the boys whether campaign or multiplayer over local or online connection. I would give it a 5 Star if not for this missing feature...

Great Multi-player

The single player was pretty exciting, but not mind-blowing. The PVP, though, is just incredibly fun!

[price]...

After the horrible Master Chief Collection they expect people to pay this much? . Ive been a huge halo fan but after MCC the only way I will buy this game is if people who purchased MCC on launch are offered a substantial discount after going through that horrible experience.
