More Information

The future of home entertainment

4K ready and HDR ready, the wholly redesigned and slimmed down Xbox One S console is tailor-made to become the future-proofed brains of your home entertainment setup. Plug it in, hook it up to your 4K TV, and voila -- you'll be able to play 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray discs and stream 4K video from services such as Netflix, enjoying 4 times the resolution of Full HD 1080p. If your TV is HDR (High Dynamic Range) compatible, you'll be able to enjoy the rapidly growing library of HDR-enabled content as well. With HDR technology, you'll get deeper darks and brighter whites on screen at the same time, resulting in stunningly natural and lifelike imagery.

Modern and minimalist design

With a design that's 40% smaller than its predecessor, the Xbox One S is slim, sleek, and slides smoothly into any home theatre setup. It features an integrated power supply so you won't have to contend with a big and bulky brick-like power adapter. This cuts down on clutter and makes connecting the console to a wall-mounted TV easier than ever. And thanks to the integrated IR blaster, you can program the S to turn on your other devices (such as your TV, receiver, and digital cable box) at the same time, so you're always just a single button press away from your favourite flicks, TV shows, and games.

A gaming machine at heart

Movies are great -- especially in mesmerizing 4K -- but nothing beats being at the heart of the action yourself. With the Xbox One S, you're the star and the hero of your own immersive fantasies and your own true-to-life adventures. You decide when to take the shot, how fast to take the corner, who to trust, and how to win. With all of the capabilities of its predecessor, plus the addition of HDR support, the S can play all of your Xbox One game discs and digitally downloaded Xbox games, including digital Xbox 360 classics. And with a subscription to Xbox Live, you can experience advanced online multiplayer options, and stream or download content from the Xbox Store.

More storage, multitasking, and connectivity

A 500GB hard drive gives you more room to save and download games, movies, apps, and more. Get online via Ethernet or built-in Wi-Fi to access instant content from sources like Netflix or YouTube. Want to do two things at once? Go for it. You can snap a game, live TV, movie, or app to view them side-by-side or quickly switch back and forth.

Bluetooth controller

The Xbox One S comes packaged with a completely refined and streamlined Xbox Wireless Controller, which now offers twice the wireless range of its predecessor. Sporting a sleeker design and a textured grip finish on the backside, the controller is more comfortable to hold than ever before. It also features integrated Bluetooth, which allows you to pair the controller with Windows 10 PCs, tablets, and phones.

Exclusive games

Xbox One S is the only platform where you'll be able to experience titles like Halo 5: Guardians, Gears of War 4, and Forza Motorsport. With more exclusive games in development to tap the capabilities of the new-gen console, you're sure to discover new favourites and enjoy classic franchises revived on Xbox One.

Xbox One S - Blue

I received this Xbox One S about a week ago and set it up over the weekend. Setup was a breeze and I even took the extra time to connect my Rogers television signals through it using HDMI. It seems like Microsoft took the extra time to get the interface right - everything worked seamlessly. The blue (teal) color of the Xbox is very unique. I wish I could buy another color matched controller for it but I don't see them offered. Microsoft's website offers the option of creating your own controller but it they don't offer this particular blue (teal) color.

Great Product

I just read all the other review and men there a lot of stupid people that said 360 controller dont work and games disc bla bla bla its slow after they said buy a playstation ( stupid sony fanboy ) Xbox one ist a great console like the PS4, buy the console that your friend or on, or for the exclusive game that you think you whant to play most, Buy both console if you can. And yes both console have a lot of ubdate from game and yes you need these ubdate if you whant to play the games. Its not Microsoft or Sony fault . Its 2017 WAKE UP MORONS.

People keep complaining about downloads taking time and stuff... If you have high speed internet, you don't have to worry. Consoles now download games so frame rate and game experience would be WAY better. It's the best you can get quality/price wise!

Great System

This is definitely a great upgrade from the XBOX 360. Although some people have complaints about the user face, I think it's great once you get used to it. The graphics are incredible and there are lots of great game options. The only downside is that it does take a while to download games, but you can leave the system on overnight and it will shut off when it's done downloading. I definitely recommend this product and the color is awesome!

Good value, but updates take multiple attempts

Good value for money, but even close to the WiFi (~3'), downloads were quite slow and took multiple attempts to complte to 100% status

Amazing. Love the colour

This xbox is amazing. To anyone that says it takes a day to download a game just needs faster internet. I downloaded a 29GB plants vs zombies game in two hours. The graphics are so much more intense then the 360. I got the limited edition blue. I love the color. i love how the fan is quiet. I love how the controller isnt heavy. I love that theres no big box power supply. Its great. I love how it can play blu rays too.

Updates too slow

The graphics are beautiful and it's fun to play but it takes a day to down load games and some updates and it won't let you play your games without updates and there are updates all the time. Save yourself the madness and and get a PS4.

To Ryan below

Unless your son still believes in Santa... It's simple, tell him that in life, sometimes it doesn't always work like you want. People make mistakes, and you have to deal with it... I don't think an XBOX One S can give him that kind of lesson, or you for that matter, since you don't know what to tell him.

Xbox One S Blue

This is a great machine and a wickedly cool colour. Got this for Christmas and haven't put it down since. Originally a PS4 player but have been using both recently and have been pulled more towards the xbox. 5/5

Xbox One

we found the Xbox One console easy to set up and use. i did buy a 6 ft Micro USB cord so we could save on batteries for the controller.

Awesome console

I bought this as a Christmas gift to my bf and he lovedid it. Can't wait to get my own controller so I could join him plating games.

Xbox is working and great but review below is dissappointing.

Have been on both sides of the fence when it comes to returns and customer service and in the end, customer service is the difference when you are selling the same/similar product as other vendors. Saving a couple bucks vs wasting someone's time and leaving a bad example for a kid that saved his money is disappointing to say the least. 3 stars with the product doing the heavy lifting here.

step up to nexgen

Has more storage onboard and better capabilities as stated in description, like better online streaming access. Lile the smaller size. The inside power supply makes the external periphereals neater but i hope they are easy to replace because power supply/ adapters do the way when the unit is powered off that during next power on cycle it goes to, say, netflix or to the place where you left off gaming automatically. Really there's no need for this to be offered at less than 1tb hd, and for the 500gb price. Its a bit of gouging for hd considering their price these days. Got the add on chat pad and head for this as i loved it on 1st gen xbox one.if it lasts like my last x1 i will be very satisfied with bang for buck overall. Oh yeah i run it on a 42 plas tv so i can't comment on 4k but it does have it.

Looks Neat, Bad Product

I highly recommend going online and reading the reviews about Xbox 1 prior to purchase, I wish I had. We're about 8 hours into trying to get Halo 5 to download, because you can't just put in the game anymore and play. Also, nothing from 360 works with this, not even the remotes, so be prepared to shell out a bunch more cash for new games, remotes and an external to store all of the mandatory download content. Get a playstation.

If we had a store close we would return it.

Bought this and expected it to be put game in and play.. but no... you have to put the game in and wait a good portion of the day to install. So annoying

My 12 year old son saves up his money to buy the new Xbox One S. He was really excited when he saw the special edition was on sale so I ordered it for him. I placed the order on November 28th and the expected delivery date was December 5th. That date came and passed with no delivery. I tracked the shipment during the course of that week and it kept telling me that the expected delivery date was still December 5th. By the end of the week I contacted Best Buy and they told me that they could not help me and that I had to contact Canada Post. Canada Post said that they would put a tracker on the shipment and have a resolution within 5 business days. I waited a few more days and contacted Best Buy again. This time they said they would open up an investigation but that it would take at least 10 business days. I is now December 16th and Canada Post is saying that the situation will not be resolved until January 6th. Needless to say my son is very disappointed and I have no real explanation to give him.

  • from Scarborough, ON

A pretty good solid console.

Bought this Xbox one s deep blue on Black Friday. Haven't got even a single problem so far and works very well. It does not generate as much heat as my previous Xbox one. Overall so far in my satisfactory.

Awesome console

Better than the original Xbox One in every way... Smaller, no power brick, 4K Blu Ray, 4K streaming, HDR, push power button (instead of the touch sensor). The bluetooth controller has a WAY better range, and the grip is a little more textured instead of being super smooth like the previous controllers (so now doesn't slip as much). I really like the dark blue color, it looks really cool. It only has a 500gb hard drive, so I would recommend getting at least a 2tb external hard drive and install all your games to the external (games will load faster). Overall it's an awesome console for gaming and 4K streaming / movies.
