The Surface Pro helps you stay productive whether you’re on the couch or on the bus. It features the robust Windows 8 operating system, Intel Core processing and supports the full Microsoft Office experience so it feels just like working on your PC.

If you’ve ever started working on a project and then suddenly had to head out, you know how frustrating it can be to have to stop what you’ve already started. The Surface Pro lets you run all your desktop applications including Word, Outlook, SharePoint Designer, PowerPoint, and more so you can start a project on your PC and take it to go with Surface. It also comes with a pen that lets you write, edit, and work with incredible ease.

When you’re done for the day, the Surface Pro automatically turns off connectivity when in sleep mode to help conserve power so it’s always ready to go.

The Surface RT and Surface Pro aren’t just sleek, precision-crafted tablets; they’re designed with security in mind, so you can safely access, edit and share your data.

The Pro is armed with application and security policy control technologies such as AppLocker and Group Policy, as well as enhanced data protection capabilities with BitLocker. It’s designed to integrate seamlessly with your enterprise management infrastructure and is compatible with third party security, management, and monitoring applications so you can install apps and connect with accessories and printers, just like you always have.

The Surface RT features device encryption and comes with Windows Defender, which works to protect against pop-ups, slow performance and online security threats. And with solid-state storage on both tablets, their drives are less susceptible to jolts and shocks which can help keep your data safe in case of unexpected impacts.

Out of the box, the Surface RT and Surface Pro come pre-loaded with handy apps such as Xbox which gives you access to the latest games, movies, TV shows, and music. They also include a Touch Cover that’s both a protective case and a spill-resistant cover that you can type on. When folded back, it automatically disables keystrokes for a touchscreen experience; and turns off your display when closed. There’s also the Type Cover case which gives you the speed and comfort of a classic keyboard with super-thin, lightweight design (sold separately).

For everyday tasks, the Surface RT is preloaded with Office 2013 RT1 so you can work anywhere. The Surface Pro supports your desktop applications and features USB 3.0 connectivity, a microSDXC slot that lets you add up to 64GB of additional storage, and a mini DisplayPort that lets you connect to external monitors and share presentations.

I want to use Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and OneNote optimized for tablets. Microsoft Office Home & Student 2013 RT2 comes pre-installed. Outlook is very important to me. I want the ability to purchase and run the full Office Suite.

Other than Office, what kind of apps will you want to run?

From the Windows Store I can get the most commonly used apps, including games, entertainment, news, productivity, and travel apps. From the Windows store I can get the most commonly used apps, and I need to run Desktop Apps such as Quicken® and Adobe® Photoshop®.

Will you need advanced business connectivity features?

I just need to connect to my work email. I’ll need to connect to a corporate domain and use features like Remote Access.
