Find your item below for detailed return information. Many products purchased in-store or online can be returned or exchanged within 30 days to any store as long as you have your receipt. Also, we never charge re-stocking fees.

For online purchases, the return/exchange period begins on the date the order is delivered.

In-Store Returns and Exchanges

When returning items to a store, you may return or exchange any item purchased:

  • In-store (incl. Reserve and Pick Up orders)
  • Online (other than Best Buy Marketplace products)

As long as it's eligible based on the policy for that specific category (detailed below).

What to bring:

  • Your original receipt (for online orders find it within your Order Status)
  • Original method of payment
  • Original packaging and all items originally included by the manufacturer or Best Buy (e.g. all manuals, accessories, gifts with purchase, or bonus items – any missing items may reduce the credit amount)
  • Valid photo ID

Return by Mail

  • Returning items from your online order by mail requires an RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) number.
  • Packages returned without an RMA number will be refused
  • RMAs are valid for 14 days (5 days for Purolator deliveries)
  • You'll receive a refund within 7-10 business days after the order arrives back to us

Online

  1. Visit our Contact Us page.
  2. Find your order number.
  3. Click "Contact Best Buy".
  4. Write the reason for your return.
  5. If your item(s) qualify according to the policy, you'll receive an RMA within 48 hours via email.

Do you refund shipping charges and Environmental Handling Fees (EHF)?
Shipping and handling (S&H) charges are non-refundable unless the item is determined to be defective.
Environmental Handling Fees will be refunded.

Multi-box products
If the product was shipped to you in multiple boxes, please wait until you've received the final box before making a return. The return period (e.g. 30 days for furniture) will start after you get the final piece.

 

How to return items from Best Buy Marketplace Sellers

Can Marketplace orders be returned to Best Buy stores?
No, items sold by Marketplace sellers must be returned to the seller through the steps outlined below.

Where can I find seller's return policies?
Each Marketplace seller has their own return policy you can access on each product page. The "return policy" link, just to the right of the prices, provides all the information on how to make a return to that specific seller.

How do I return a Marketplace order?
After reading the seller's return policy, visit the Contact Us page to request a return from the seller.

 

How to return gifts, bonus items, and bundles

Free gifts

All products (both defective and non-defective) must be returned in their original purchase condition, with the original packing material, blank warranty cards, manuals and any other item or accessory provided by the manufacturer. If the purchase included a free gift, or an included or bonus item, to qualify for a refund, the free gift, included, or bonus item must also be returned.

Gift receipts

If you have a gift receipt, bring the item(s) and gift receipt in store and the value of the item(s) being returned will be credited to a gift card. No other types of credits are available.
If you weren't given a gift receipt, ask the gift giver to come in-store to confirm their information and we can provide a gift receipt to them. 

Bundles

If you purchased an item as part of a bundle package, you may return that item separately. However, if you decide to break up that bundle by returning an item, the price of all items in the bundle reverts to what they would be if they were purchased individually. Therefore, you will receive a refund for the returned item that is less than the price you paid for it when you purchased it as part of a bundle.

What if the appliance I ordered doesn't fit into my home?

Our delivery team will do a walk-through of the pathway to the appliance's final destination before unboxing the product to make sure it fits. If it's clear the item won't fit and the box is unopened, you may exchange it.

Please note: The delivery fee will not be refunded and you'll be charged for the delivery of the replacement item.

What if the product I just had delivered is damaged or defective?

If the product is damaged or defective, please call our Best Buy Appliance Concierge (1-866-585-4494) before coming to the store for assistance. Product defects are subject to manufacturer's warranty.

Can I cancel my order?

The order may be cancelled for a full refund if Best Buy Concierge (1-866-858-4494) is called at least 72 hours prior to scheduled delivery date.

If you are returning an iPhone/iPad/iPod purchased after September 20, 2013 or that has had the software updated after September 18, 2013, you will need to turn off the ‘Activation lock’ feature before returning the device. How to disable ‘Activation lock’.
