Replaced existing microwave only so that appliances matched for kitchen reno...loved previous Kenmore microwave, and first time trying a Breville. So far, so good....loads of settings I we haven't even tried yet. To me, door and closing mechanism seem flimsy, so let's hope they hold up!
Great microwave. has everything we wanted...Small, quiet and quality.
Unlike many American-made low-quality, cheap and ugly-designed kitchen appliances (such as Danby, Hamilton Beach, Black & Decker, Sunbeam and etc.), the Australian-made Breville products are among few high-quality and beautifully-designed brands which are available to purchase in North American market.
I only had this microwave a few weeks ...and I'm really pleased with it
It's easy to use ..compact enough ...and does a good job in cooking.
I recommend this product
I'm not cooking in a microwave, just heating up the food. And when I pay $300 for a microwave I expect it at least not to annoy me. Turned it on and that big LCD display was producing some kind of hissing sound. You can hear it when the door is shut, it becomes terrible when you open it. That pissed me off, returned it. Why don't they allow to turn it on in store and try it so I wouldn't waste my time?
Functions on this microwave is easy to use. Heats perfectly to the settings available. Also stylish design makes this an addition to any kitchen. I would recommend anyone this state of the art microwave!
This microwave offers the best bang for the buck! The microwave is nice and quiet, unlike some of my previous purchases, which really makes it stand out. The features I didn't really find useful when I was doing research, but I was wrong, they are very useful. The design of it is nice and it doesn't take up much counter space. Something good to point out is that there is a handle to open the door, which is great for me since I was having lots of trouble fixing the broken door button on my old microwave. Overall, this microwave performed outstandingly and is well worth the money.
This oven is beautifully designed, quiet and incredibly easy to use. We wish the clock was back-lit and visible at all times (its digits are a bit dark and replaced by timing when in use) but we otherwise love it for its looks, its great turning buttons, its straightforward door and handle, and its efficiency. We highly recommend it: it looks great on a counter top and it is perfect for a small-medium family.
We were diligent with this purchase. The majority of available ovens (all made in China) are flimsy with doors that cannot open or close without moving the entire unit. The Breville has a large handle and the door is solid. One can operate the machine with one hand while holding a food tray in the other. Many machines require both hands for basic operations. The Breville is also clear in its ergonomics and design. It avoids the glitzy complexity of most models while making a simple and intuitive presentation of time and heat controls. The Breville is also well illuminated - both inside the oven and in its controls. And - very smart design - the Breville illuminates as soon as one touches the door. That said our only complaint is the clock. We wish it would remain visible at all times and not only during operation. The Breville costs more than other brands, but realistically these machines are all astonishingly cheap. They cost roughly the same dollars (in 2015) as did equivalent models from 20 years ago!
Loud clunks/groans/buzzes/clicks while operating. Turntables lagged at beginning. Right side of both (I tried two before giving up) starts to heat up. Would have liked to have kept one as they cooked well but the sounds were concerning.
I'VE HAD THE SAME MICROWAVE FOR 15 YEARS. IT WAS EASY ENOUGH BUT THIS BREVILLE IS THE EASIEST I HAVE EVER SEEN. I'M 60 YEARS OLD AND THINGS ARE GETTING TOO COMPLICATED BUT THIS UNIT WAS BUILT FOR SOMEONE LIKE ME. THE BOOMERS WIN AGAIN!!
AS FOR QUALITY AND VALUE, THAT REMAINS TO BE SEEN. I HAD A SAMSUNG THAT LASTED WAY TOO LONG AND IS STILL IN THE BACKUP POSITION. I NEEDED SOMETHING A LITTLE ROOMIER AND THIS FITS THE BILL IN THAT DEPT.
I BOUGHT THE EXTENDED PLAN JUST IN CASE
This is a nice unit. Easy controls for both time and power level, and the large LCD is easy to read when the unit is on (the LCD goes off after you are done cooking).
It's cooking things evenly, though I must say I've not tried all of the possible settings/features.
All in all, I'm a happy camper!
I have had the Breville for about a month. I am comparing it with a previous stove top whirlpool microwave, in which the heating element broke after three years of owning it. Unlike the whirlpool which is large, noisy, and too powerful for heating small meals for two, this microwave is very space efficient, quiet, and extremely efficient on energy and heating. It is very easy to use with it's smart touch heating options. I thought the cost was a bit higher than average for a microwave. But, comparing it to the cost of the whirlpool microwave which is the same amount of money just to buy the part, let alone pay a service provider, the Breville and the best buy extended warranty options together, were well worth the same cost.
I've had no problems with the microwave so far, but it's only been a month.
I'll certainly rewrite this review should any problems develop.
It's a great and practical microwave, it make us easy and comfortable life.
