Tuner

Under product description it says the starter tuner prints up to 700 pages. However, I talked to a sales associate at BestBuy and I was told it yields 50 pages. Does anybody know if 700 pages is right?

Doesn't work well with Windows 10

My last printer was a Brother, and it worked perfectly for years. This model is really buggy and doesn't work well with Windows 10, however. I've uninstalled and reinstalled four times in the last two months, and I've had a variety of error messages. I wouldn't buy this one.

Wireless all the things!

I have this setup in my basement, all by it self connected wirelessly to my network. The network printing is great, I even like the Google Cloud print feature which I use frequently. I only recently used the wireless scanning feature with both my PC and my Android phone (using Brother iPrint&Scan) and being able to do it wirelessly and from my phone was very convenient. I guess putting it in the back room and using my phone to do the scan is probably the best way since if I had a problem Id have to go all the way back to it otherwise. I got the high capacity toner recently, I have no idea how much more life is left in the original toner cart but it claims it's low. It does print an aweful lot on the original toner so unless it's being used moderately you're probably going to get a lot of mileage out of it. I really just got this printer to be able to smash in the high capacity cartridge and never have to worry about toner again, I use it so infrequently that inkjet just doesn't work. Admittedly the standard cartridge would probably have fit my need for never wanting to buy toner again, but for the small price difference (from where I ordered an original Brother cartridge) it was no big deal. I've recommended this printer to others who may have the odd occasion to need to photocopy, scan and print from home. The other wireless brother printers that aren't multi-function are great too, I used to use a friends standard one on a regular basis which is what drove me to buy this one. Being able to scan a document at home rather than have to go to work is a big convenience to me. I don't have a home phone line so the fax feature is lost on me. I'm sure its fine.

Good one

Got it yesterday. Set up was fast and easy. Print quality is great, copy quality is indistinguishable from original. MAC OS. Warning: if you have another brother printer installed on same machine you should uninstall its software and drivers first. Also remove the old connection device from router. If you log into your router you can see connected devices, remove old printer. Cons: mostly in instructions and guidance for Mac os. wifi button directly tries to connect you without configuring it first , which will fail obviously. Scan to work you need to add device as scan during controCenter setup - this crucial info is completely missing from setup guide. AirPrint information is totally useless and is pretty much missing, you're on your own. the video "guide" they provide is basically a commercial and contains no useful info unless you're interested how many awards Brother has gotten and why its on leading edge of technology...

Very Good

Overall excellent product. Bought this printer two weeks ago. Working quite well. No issues. Set up was straightforward and wireless printing is a breeze. Really like this printer. They could make it more fancy and better looking, but that's just me.

Brother Wireless All-In-One Laser Printer (MFC-L2700DW)

I have had the printer only for a week. Setup was essentially easy at the printer, however, setup for the scanner and to align computer and printer required assistance from a friend far more savvy than I. I am very pleased with the printer - options, functionality (especially wireless capability) are excellent. My brother is Chief of IT and he was the one who recommended this Brother printer over all other brands and current models for my home/small office use - based on what it provides (scan, fax, printer) and steered me away from colour printer. Excellent response so far from this printer and would recommend.

Brother MFC-L2700DW

I have another Brother all-in-one printer with a cable connection and I liked it so I purchased this one to get wireless. The printer itself seems good but getting the wireless set-up was a major pain as none of the instructions that came with the printer worked. In particular, pressing one button on the modem and one on the printer failed. In the end by fussing about I managed to get my network to recognize it and it set itself up, Unfortunately, I had to go through this twice as Bell changed my modem So I'm not sure if the problem lies Brother or with Bell but there *is* a problem.

Buy an HP instead

Terrible choice switching to Brother from HP. I have had nothing but trouble with wi-fi connectivity and it is next to impossible to get proper technical support. I was told by the sales person in BB that Brother was a good brand. Bad advice. Don't take it.

Avoid buying it

I've had this printer for about a year now, and every time I need to print something it's a nightmare - Need to reconnect to WiFi every time. Many times the printer simply gets stuck in that process, until I unplug it from the wall. If that's not bad enough, every time the printer reconnects to the WiFi, it prints a status/error page, which wastes paper. In most cases, I go to a print shop downstairs, because it's simply faster. I would strongly recommend anybody to avoid buying this printer.

No Duplex Scanning

Folks, if you are planning to use it for Duplex scanning (because it has ADF), then please don't purchase it - it doesn't do automatic duplex scanning via their software "Control Center4" / paperport. Otherwise, printer(duplex is fine)/fax/scan(duplex scanning is not there)

Easy wifi setup within 90 seconds. I installed two on two networks. Never had an issue. Dont understand the earlier comment about wakingup. Nnever had to use the power button ever! Good print quality and very satisfied with cost of printing and with network scans and iphone app.

Difficult to set-up and does not wake-up.

At this point in time, the printer is useless. I should have heeded the other reviews with respect to using this printer over a wireless LAN.

Not bad printing but LCD display too dim

With the LCD display being too dim to read any of the options/setting, the quality of the printer is irrelevant. Steer clear of this one.

Great product

This printer was very simple to setup wireless, no issues whatsoever, just had to turn my router off and on for it to be detected. I also install the brother iprint & scan app which allows me to print and scan from my mobile phone.

Poor Product! Hard to Set Up

I'm very tech savvy and this printer is NOT user friendly. Used it for a small office which can have up 7 wireless computers using the printer at any one given time. Computers can't find the printer on IP address. Disc didn't work had to load full software from the web site on each computer that wanted to use the printer. The screen is so small it makes it hard to read and touch. Wi-Fi interferes with the wireless operation which makes it impossible to use either. Useless printer, expensive and its only monochrome not colour.

I bought this product online. It is very difficult to set up wi fi connection. It get disconnected each time you scan. it takes hours to get it reconnected. It is difficult to read instructions on LED display even with highest contrast. I have returned this product. Waste of time................... I would not recommend this product to anyone.

Simply doesn't work

Bought this printer last week, and tried to use it about 5-10 times so far. Every time I need to print something, I need to go through 10-15 minutes of restarting, reconfiguring WiFi, and digging troubleshooting via Google. Save yourself the time and money, and get a different printer.

Solid product

I gave up on HP after the laser 4-in-2 printer gave up the ghost after 18 months`use with (price) wasted ink. This Brother seems to be solid value with more features like double sided copying/scanning - but I don`t need the fax function and wish I could turn it off as it is 24/7.

Excellent Laser Printer

Easy setup, took about 5-10 minutes to hook up and get everything going. Printing, Scanning, and Faxing all work very well. My only grip with this is the LCD Screen. If you do not place the printer in a well lit area, you will not be able to see anything (even after adjusting the contrast). I was putting it together at 8pm last night and had to shine a Flashlight directly at the display, even when I had normal lighting in the room. The above is the only reason I'm giving it a 4 out of 5, instead of 5. Otherwise, a fantastic replacement to my previous Inkjet printer.

Great Printer for the Money

It took a long time to load in the software for some reason, but set up and printing wireless is super easy. Picked it up on sale and it arrived at my house less than 24 hours after purchase, with free shipping. Very pleased with purchase.

Good purchase

My first laser printer after using a long and disappointing list of jet printers. So far so good! I was scared about the cost of the toner but it doesn;t seem to be an issue... I see a couple glitches: display is really poor: 2 lines of about a dozen characters each is really hard to adjust to for someone who uses LCDs in everything else...even after adjusting the display brightness I still need to use a flash light or desk lamp to understand what is displayed...the duplex for double side printing works for printing but not for copying... it is a bit of manual work involved to manage double side copying...
