Many years ago we lived in France and often went to Switzerland with friends. It was there I discovered that most of the really great coffee machines are built in Switzerland. My wife and I just loved the coffee we got in Europe. Then about 10 years ago on a trip to Basel, Switzerland we were taken to a Nespresso Cafe. What an experience. Served by beautiful women in high heels, with many lovely oversized photos of a very handsome George Clonney. We were hooked but until recently we did not buy a Nespresso machine. But now we have and I can brew a wonderful coffee and sit back and enjoy remembering the days in the Alps, along the Rhine River in Basel. This machine just works so wonderfully and the taste is extraordinary. We love it and the various recipes we can create. The perfect coffee machine. And I feel I am slowly beginning to look as handsome as George Clonney. A few more cups and I will be there.
My brand new Nespresso Vertuoline coffee machine broken down only after 2 months of use. I average make 4 cups of coffee a week. I first contacted Nespresso about the issue and they promised to send me a loaner. So I could send my machine back to Nespresso for repair. However, few days after the expected delivery date, I still didn't receive the loaner. So, I contacted the Nespresso again. The information they gave me was shocking. The reason they failed to send out a loaner was because too many coffee machines broke down in North America. They ran out of the loaners for their customers.
At this point, I wasn't impressed with Nespresso's service and wish Nespresso would stand behind their product. Therefore, I refused to only have my coffee machine repaired but demanded a new coffee machine and I was happy to return the problem machine back to Nespresso.
One of the advisers (ext. 3011) from Nespresso Montreal office contacted me. Advisor 3011 retracted the previous statement and insisted that Nespresso did have enough loaner for their customer. However, advisor 3011 was never able to explain why his company failed to send me a loaner in the first place.
After a long conversation advisor 3011 realized that I won't back down. So he threatened me that if I don't accept a loaner, I could just stuck with a broken machine. At the end, I felt defeated, I declined the loaner. I only asked them to send me a box so I could send the machine back for repair. Once the machine comes back. I will donate it to a local charity thirty store. I refuse to spend more money on this company.
However, this experience exposed some problems about Nespresso. First, Nespresso collects all the contact information when we register our products, however when there is an issue happening due to their internal error, Nespresso won't make an effort to contact their customers. If I didn't contact Nespresso, I would still be waiting for a loaner that would never come.
Second. the information Nespresso gave to their customer is inconsistent. The explanation from customer service can be deceiving and untruthful.
Whoever, reading this can decide if my action is reasonable or not. I only wish my experience will help you to deal with Nespresso if one day your coffee machine broken down. My last advice, if you really have to get a Nespresso coffee machine, get the product protection insurance from BestBuy. It will save you a lot trouble.
Easy to use machine, looks great on counter, lots of coffee and espresso selections and strengths. Barista quality. Espresso drinks are at correct temperature. Coffee is not hot bough, no matter which capsule I try. The Nespresso "experts" may say that the machine is programmed to brew each capsule at the ideal temperature , well, OK, but if 90% of the customers are saying the coffee is not hot enough, then it's time to make a change and listen to the customers. We may not all be coffee experts but we know when a beverage is hot or just warm. I still like the machine but I zap the coffee in a microwave for 25 seconds to bring it up to romper store, then I'm happy. Shouldn't have yo do this though, considering the price of the machine and the capsules. Even a Tassimo machine makes hotter coffee. Best Buy had a good sale price and shipped quickly.
Easy to set up. Simple to use. Great tasting coffee. The milk frother is quiet and works amazingly. Sleek design with zero mess to clean up. The only reason I didn't give 5 out of 5 is I wish the coffee was just a little hotter. But that's a minor thing given the outstanding taste of the coffee. Also, if you prefer a larger holding tank for water, may want to consider the deluxe model. Cheers.
Unit did not work upon arrival. Needed to unlock the pump by turning unit upside down and forcing water into the system. Not quite what I was expecting. Nespresso customer support is ridiculous. I have called a couple of times both were within normal business hours (even though they claim to be available 24/7), both times were in excess of 30 minutes before reaching an actual person. Either they are short staff or there is an excessive amount of people who need support with their machines.
My wife loves this coffee, I personally am not a fan. To each his own. I would advise you to taste or try it first.
The Aeroccino works great, makes froth and warms the milk without issue (milk, almond milk, soy)
Just be sure it's right for you and your coffee tastes.
Ben using it for 2 weeks, love it, as advertised, take 20 sec to have a good latte! Simple to use.
