Only OK

This unit is just OK . Has some good features USB port and Bluetooth are nice to have. But the Front of the receiver is hard to read they should have use a different color and could have put back lite on the remote again hard to read at night ! The sound quality is just OK even with Polk Audio speakers

good for the price point

good product if you have all new equipment as this receiver only really takes HDMI cables. also it does not have anyplace to plug in an portable music player like an mp3 or ipod though you can play them if you buy an adapter and play it through one of the audio inputs for the dvd, cd,cable input or the analog inputs. also there are only hook ups for 4 speakers other then that really good quality of sound is produced

Nothing Special

It seems to be a very basic functioning receiver. There is nothing that stands out or out of the ordinary for a receiver on the market. It would be a decent entry level component. I got this one myself to replace a receiver that broke down. The speakers will still functioning so this got the job done and slightly less expensive than buying everything new, again. I was hoping that it would be better than it is for sound quality. The options are also rather difficult. Settings seem to require changing more than I'd like, from one movie or show to another.

Great value, great sound!

Great entry level 4K receiver, the only two negatives I can mention are no back lit remote and no auto calibration. Although the manual calibration can be a bit of a challenge, once setup for your space this rocks. I paired mine with the Polk RM 6750 speakers and they sound amazing!

Good sound, nice design but not so easy to use. I had to read carefully the instruction to understand all the settings.

I would look at another unit

Bought this on sale. Found it difficult to set up, I am still working on getting the sound right. The preset sounds cofigs. seem very off. Wireless took three tries to connect to my network, (I have a very strong signal and don't usually have issues). I still can't connect to my home music library..

Pioneer 400-Watt 5.1 Channel Home Theatre Receiver

Works as advertised. Video and audio quality very good. I like the USB, and Bluetooth options. I am not an Audiophile but it meets my needs (which was to give better stereo and surround sound to my TV) Great quality for the price.

sound system

I hooked up a 4k Blue Ray player to it with HMDI cable and out to a 4K smart TV with HMDI cable. the quality of sound and picture is much better than my old receiver. So far I am happy with its performance.

Great 1080p quality

I have this model and it is perfect for my needs. Unlike a previous "review" that claimed this doesn't do 1080p via HDMI, I can assure you it most certainly does and in fact does it the way it should -- without crushing the blacks like other receivers sometimes do. The audio quality is also fantastic. Being a Pioneer, the quality is all around great.

Stay away

Tried using this receiver with HDMI and it would only work at 720P, contacted Pioneer and they advised me that the 1080P function was not available and that I should use optical audio to get it to work with the TV
