M1-5712 Error Samsung won't replace the printer

This is worst product I've ever owned. I keep receiving that error and the printer has taken 2 trips to the service centre (E-link). Samsung won't replace the printer until the service centre says its unfixable. This is be the 3rd time in 2 months this printer is going to E-link service centre. IF THIS PRINTER DOESN'T WORK FOR YOU OUT OF THE BOX, REPLACE IT AT BEST BUY RIGHT AWAY!!

Good printer for the money, but not perfect for everyone

I bought the Samsung M2830DW a couple of months ago. Overall I would call it a good, basic printer. Print quality and print speed are both very good; it starts up quickly and seems to be reliable. On the downside, the Samsung printer software is unnecessarily complicated - - there are several different downloadable applications. It's hard to tell what they're all for, and whether they're all actually needed. As well. there are several buttons and lights on the control panel. To this day, I have not figured out exactly what they do, and what the lights are signifying when they blink, and light up in different colors.... The wireless connectivity was frustrating: I actually got it connected fairly quickly, but it disconnected soon after. I was not able to maintain a reliable wireless connection, so it's now connected to the router by ethernet which works fine for me.

Good printer for the price

I bought this printer 2 days ago and I am quite pleased with the overall quality. Wireless set up is very easy with the supplied USB cable. I failed in the first time wifi set up because of fixed channel at the router. As soon as I reset my router to auto channel , my laptop and the printer hooked up seamlessly.

buggy ridiculous print interface, riddled with issues

Have never encountered a printer with a more nonsensical interface. Don't buy this expecting to plug and play like you would basically any other normal printer. Samsung makes you download a whole big chunk of bloatware, and even once it's installed, you'll still have problems printing, as the default setting seems for some reason to be to print everything small, in the top corner of the page. There is a reason why you've never heard of Samsung printers before...

Idiotic interface

Bought this thing and quickly realised why I've never really heard of Samsung being in the printer business. The interface for this thing is ridiculously needlessly complicated. Rather than simply offering a driver that works as soon as you plug into the printer, you have to install Samsung's idiotic print manager software. Ease of access to printers was sorted 15 years ago, but Samsung for some reason felt that plug and play was not a thing people wanted, and gave us their crappy print app and enormous desktop software package. One day of trying and I can't get my Samsung laptop to print on my Samsung printer. Would not advise buying.

Problem with Toner

Beware ! The original Samsung T\toner for this printer can not be found in whole Canada. So if you finish the toner cartridge that comes with the printer, you are left with a printer which can not print!

Fantastic Printer for Great Price

Quick and easy to set up on the network, works great with IOS and Windows devices. No issues. I would buy it again. And you cant beat the price.

Software wouldn't open so went to the site and downloaded it. Still need to use it more because it seems that it always kicks into printing Eco, printing only on left side of the page in very small print. Overall looks like a good printer.

Awesome quality for the price

Very pleased with this unit so far (2 weeks). Setup was a breeze, wireless printing is very convenient. TIP: After you run through the software install and it updates itself, power cycle the printer by unplugging it for a minute.

Overall , Very Pleased

Ordered the printer online for a friend with a MacBook Air. Arrived in good condition in a few days. Followed the setup instructions but the software download resulted in " Damaged File - Can't Open ". I did it twice. Not sure what the problem was ? I went to the Printer's page and found another installer that worked well. Printer is performing as expected. Seems very well built and quite attractive for a laser ( which can look a little clunky ). Overall , despite the software mishap , very pleased.

Great Printer, expensive Ink

Love this printer, but found the ink/toner very expensive for the amount you get out of it. Instead of buying a new toner, we bought a new printer LOL

Awesome Printer

It is a very good primer if you need black high quality paper. Wireless is a great feature. The price is a bit steep though.
