Good System

This is a good system for games like Super Mario 3D World and Donkey Kong Tropical freeze. If they made more games like that I would buy this system. Unfortunately I am not buying this system just for 2 games I really like. It takes little time to beat those 2 games. All in all if you interested in this system buy it...... I just feel this system lacks the third party support and great games.

Great Console Package Buy

I bought this set during the boxing day blitz after much debate between the three various systems and finally decided Mario and donkey kong were the best bet for me. I have certainly not regretted the purchase. Super easy set up with brilliant graphics and amazing game play. I have always been a gamer but have tended towards virtual games such as the sims, second life etc. This is a bit different for me and I love the difference. I'm having lots of trouble beating Mario but the challenge is great! I like being able to buy different games via download although you can get a better price here at best buy on popular titles. A mistake I made on Donkey Kong overpaying by about 20 bucks! Live and Learn! But the point being - great system and you can always exchange at the game club!

This captures moments of my childhood, grew up with Mario, will probably still play when I'm 90.

So Good...

I really can't say enough good things about this console. Offscreen play is great, Nintendo titles in HD on the big screen is even better. Lots of functionality, including using the gamepad as a tv remote, Netflix app, Miiverse, Nintendo TV, backwards compatibility with my Wii games. You can use all of your old Wii controllers with it which is nice. The eShop has a ton of great titles new and old with more titles being added all the time. It has been a lot better overall experience than I was expecting based on the feedback from Sony and Xbox fans. I have a high end PC so this coupled with my Wiij U is all I will need this generation.

This console is AMAZING, i already own a 360/PS3 and got the Wii U to play some Nintendo games...Nintendo in HD is perfection, Mario, Zelda and other games in HD is crystal clear. Also, the gamepad controller is fantastic, much better than i expected.

Great for us

My significant other has limited use of her left hand but she wanted to get back into gaming and this system has been working great for us. The tablet lets her use one hand and allows us to work together and play together for the first time in a video game. Been a lot of fun so far.

Pretty Good

Pretty good. The package comes with everything you need. Super Mario U is a pretty good game. Only real criticism is that the tablet controller has a limited battery life.

Great product.

The console works perfectly and the games included are fun. Wifi works very good. You may want to get a Wii U pro controller if playing for extended periods of time.

very impressed

Nintendo in HD is a big reason to get this system, the Mario games that come with the console look outstanding and play great. The Wii U Controller (tablet) is much better than I expected, it controls are dead on... it took no time to get comfortable playing intensive games. Apparently the battery is weaker but 4-5 hours Is more than enough for a single sitting. Highly recommended for Nintendo fans, well worth the price especially how the Wii controllers are compatible.

Buy it. Simple. Youll love it.

For those that are saying if you have a Wii, the Wii-U isn't an upgrade...clearly don't know what they are talking about. (HD graphics for one) Great system. Gamepad is very innovative and utilized well in several games. Off TV play is excellent!! It's not a Wii with a new pad thingy. It's a Wii-U. Nintendo...Super Nintendo. Same thing. It's new. It's better. Buy it! You won't be disappointed. Haven't had this much fun gaming since I received my first NES years ago.

wii u

Pros: great picture clarity if using hdmi, ability to play video games or use netflix with handheld device cons: seems to have slowed down the internet, needs to be closer to wifi than regular wii, mii popping up all the time on certain games We got the wii u as a Christmas present to be an upgrade from wii. It takes a bit of getting used to, and the kids don't like it as much as they did the wii. On the other hand, it is nice to have a few new games that weren't available with regular wii. The super mario bros wii u is a good game. I would recommend it for someone who doesn't already have wii, but if you have wii, it doesn't do much more for the price.

great system

Love this system, my first Nintendo system in decades and it does not disappoint. The best thing about the system is the tablet controller. Netflix, youtube streaming with no lag to the tablet, and of course games are smooth as well. Juts love the fact I can transfer gaming to the tablet so if someone wants the TV I can continue playing. Looking forward to Mario kart and smash brothers.

The best

This is the system to get and it's the right price we got it for our kids and our selves and all our friends and family are picking this up also..Xbox and ps4 are nothing special and the cost is crazy....the wii u is fantastic and it' seems all the kids want this......and adults also like me ....if you don't got this get it its worth the money and fun and great games and graphics and all the other stuff that's on the system that's free but you have to pay on Xbox and ps4....wii u is the future as we see with our kids and many many other kids that love this.....including me.......

Nintendo wii U

Was always a fan of the wii and all the mario games for a while so when they brought out the new wii u was really excited even more so that it also played the old wii games so you can keep your favorite games instead of having to buy them all over again the wii u is a great purchase and i would encourage any family to go out and get one

Okay but no future

Console is good and the value is good but the Wii-U has no future. It does not fit well in the next gen space and does not have exciting titles lined up. Beyond Mario and Lego City there is little promise to this console. Buy if you have some spare cash but not as a future console.

Can't even make a comment

Received the unit as a Christmas gift, but still can't log into the Nintendo account to get it going. I just get an error message from it stating I can't go any further without logging in. The Nintendo website has been crashed since 2:00am Christmas morning. Maybe by New Year's I'll come back here and write a proper review. At this moment, very disappointed in them.

Great Wii Upgrade

As I was looking for a game console for the kids which like wii had kid friendly games. And limited access to those violent Xbox style games - I was pleased to find the Wii U - And all the old games can still play - important when they cost more than 50$ each so previous investments are still good.. But the cream of cream is the new Mario 3D world - which alone is worth buying the console for. If you have younger children then the Wii U is the game console for you forget the violence go with fun.

Good gaming device for family with young children

Performs well. Feels a bit slow when first loading the game - probably because it is reading from the disk. Wish that was faster. If more than 1 person wants to play, you need to have a wii remote plus controller in most cases. Would have been good if they had included one. A number of games do not take advantage of the 2nd screen. Ability to play games in the gamepad alone, without requiring the TV is nice. Overall a good gaming system for family with young children.

Fun is the name of the game

I was hesitant buying this but my 7 yr-old has been wishing for one all year. We already have a PS3 and an Xbox 360 but no one in my house but me wants to use them for anything. Picked up this bundle a couple of weeks ago and I wish we had gotten it sooner. It's been used for a few hours every day since and by everyone in my house. I haven't even touched my other consoles since getting this. My son and wife especially are loving it and we've only been using the bundled Mario and Luigi games. The games are just pure fun and for everyone. It's such a fantastic gaming machine for the family. The hardware is great too. Very small and runs super cool and dead silent even inside our non-ventilated TV cabinet, something which I dare not to do with either my 360 or PS3 as they'd choke. The gamepad is surprisingly good. The 6 inch screen is huge and crisp. We bought the Nintendo screen protector kit which comes with a large blue stylus and it works great with it. All in all, I had my doubts but if you have a family with kids, this is the one to get. It's just so much fun for the whole family.

more band for less

Now is the time to get the Wii U, not only did it get a $50 price cut, but all the good software are finally starting to pour on to the scene. I recommend Super Mario 3d World and Mario Party U(great fun family game and you get a controller). This might be a brand new system from Nintendo, but it is fully backward compatible with the Wii. All your Wii games, controllers and Wii Fit Board will work on the new WiiU. 2014 is already shaping to be one of Nintendo's best year ever with Mario Kart 8, Donkey Kong Country: tropical Freeze & Super smash bros Wii all releasing in first four month of the year.

This is a great console and two great games! This price is great and it is 100% worth it! I would recommend it for sure this is a steal. Get your hands on this now before mario kart and smash bros come out!

Awesome system bundle

GO BUY THIS NOW. There, I said it. This system gives you everything the DELUXE set for $50 less than the launch price and you get TWO games. Both are Nintendo's must own series, Mario and Luigi. Want a fun system for less money and 2 great games to play right away? Plus you get a free tablet computer(the controller) which also doubles as a handheld system (you can play ALL games directly on the handheld with wi fi anywhere in your house). Oh and the whole thing is 1080 p high res so sit back and relax.

The game was fun for the first few days but I ended up beating the game after 4 days or about (8 hours) playing the game. So I tried the Luigi game, but it was the same as the mario game but the only difference is you play with Luigi and have to try and beat each level in 100 seconds. Not worth the money
