How to Return Items


Return In-Store

Return by Mail with a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA)

You may return any item purchased:

Online (excluding Best Buy Marketplace products)

In-Store (including Reserve and Pick Up orders)

What to bring:

  • Your original receipt
  • Original method of payment
  • Original packaging
  • Valid photo ID

How to request an RMA:

By phone: 1-866-237-8289

If your item qualifies, an RMA will be emailed to you shortly after your call.

Online:

  1. Find your order number through Order Status
  2. Click "Contact Best Buy"
  3. Choose Returns & Exchanges
  4. Write the reason for your return
  5. If your item(s) qualify according to the policy, you'll receive an RMA within 48 hours via email.

General FAQs


How long are RMAs (Return Merchandise Authorizations) valid for?

If your major appliance is still in the box and it hasn't been more than 30 days since your delivery please call 1-866-585-4494.

When will I receive my refund if I ship something back using an RMA?

Within 7-10 days after the order arrives back to us.

Do you refund shipping charges and Environmental Handling Fees (EHF)?

Shipping and handling (S&H) charges are non-refundable unless the item is determined to be defective. Environmental Handling Fees will be refunded.

What if I want to return a multi box shipment?

If the product was shipped to you in multiple boxes, please wait until you've received the final box before making a return. The return period (e.g. 30 days for furniture) will start after you get the final piece.

How do I return a gift, bundle or bonus item?

Gifts: If you have a gift receipt, bring the item(s) and gift receipt in store and the value of the item(s) being returned will be credited to a gift card. No other types of credits are available.

If you weren't given a gift receipt, ask the gift giver to come in-store to confirm their information and we can provide a gift receipt to them.

Bonus Items: All products (both defective and non-defective) must be returned in their original purchase condition, with the original packing material, blank warranty cards, manuals and any other item or accessory provided by the manufacturer. If the purchase included a free gift, or an included or bonus item, to qualify for a refund, the free gift, included, or bonus item must also be returned.

Bundles: If you purchased an item as part of a bundle package, you may return that item separately. However, if you decide to break up that bundle by returning an item, the price of all items in the bundle reverts to what they would be if they were purchased individually. Therefore, you will receive a refund for the returned item that is less than the price you paid for it when you purchased it as part of a bundle.

Can I return my product to any Best Buy store?

Yes, but make sure you're returning your product to a Best Buy store within the same country where the purchase was made.

Major Appliance Returns FAQs


How can I return my major appliance?

If your major appliance is still in the box and it hasn't been more than 30 days since your delivery please call 1-866-585-4494.

What if the appliance I ordered doesn't fit into my home?

Our delivery team will do a walk-through of the pathway to the appliance's final destination before unboxing the product to make sure it fits. If it's clear the item won't fit and the box is unopened, you may exchange it.

Please note: The delivery fee will not be refunded and you'll be charged for the delivery of the replacement item.

What if the product I just had delivered is damaged or defective?

If the product is damaged or defective, please call our Best Buy Appliance Concierge (1-866-585-4494) before coming to the store for assistance. Product defects are subject to manufacturer's warranty.

Can I cancel my order?

The order may be cancelled for a full refund if Best Buy Concierge (1-866-585-4494) is called at least 72 hours prior to scheduled delivery date.

Marketplace Returns FAQs


Where can I find the seller's return policies?

There are 2 places you can find a Marketplace seller's return policy:

  1. On the product page for a Marketplace product, you can see a "Return policy" link just to the right of the price. This link provides all the information on that seller's return policy.
  2. Return policy link screenshot
  3. If you've already placed a Marketplace order, you can access the seller's return policy on both the Order Details page or through your Shipped Order confirmation email.

How do I return a Marketplace order?

To request a return please contact the seller directly from your Order Details page and provide the following information:

  • Web ID (8-digit number) & product description
  • Number of items to be returned
  • Date product was received by customer
  • Condition of product
  • Condition of packaging
  • Reason for return

In the return package, please make sure to include:

  • Return Authorization (RA) number supplied by the seller
  • Original packaging
  • Any product accessories
  • Manuals/warranty cards

Can Marketplace orders be returned to Best Buy stores?

No, at this time, Best Buy Marketplace items cannot be returned to Best Buy stores.

  • Returns, exchanges and price adjustments will not be processed on Nov. 24, 2017, and Dec. 26, 2017. Stores in Sault St Marie (Ontario), and all stores in Quebec and Atlantic provinces will not be able to process returns, exchanges and price adjustments on Dec. 27, 2017.
