What's the fuss...

I've had my charging cable for nearly five years with zero issues. Treat the cable with care, and there shouldn't ever be a problem. People who pull on the cable are only creating a problem with breakage. Always pull from the base, where it connects to the phone.

They sold a broken product and won't refund

I purchased a new cord just before leaving for a 6 month stay in Europe. Unfortunately I did not open the product until I got to Europe, at which point I discovered that it was clearly a used product (it was discoloured like an old cord), and it was actually broken! Since it is not possible for me to return the product (given I am an ocean away from the store), they refuse to refund me. Horrible product and service.

Very disaster quality

I bought this charger less than one year ago and I only used it within my car. After few month, the cable broke from the one end. Now, I should get another one. I guess that's the way that they make money. Low quality so you are forced to buy more!

Whats the fuss???

I don't understand why people are having problems. I've never had a problem with my apple cables. If anything the 3rd party ones are the worse, so I've stopped being a cheapskate and started buying the apple ones. Which actually work, and don't say that they're not compatible. They are pricey, only complaint.

it only takes a few months for the cable to stop working, so you're forced to buy a new one

My cable is over 2 years old and works great!

Never had a problem with it bunching, twisting, knotting, or ripping. Word of advice, when connecting or disconnecting, ALWAYS pull the connectors from the base....NEVER THE WIRE!!!

Works great

Works great. People just need to learn how to unplug cables if you want it to last. Stop yanking on the cord when you want to unplug it :)

Apple will exchange cords that wear out. You need the receipt and box helps. Doesn't matter where it was purchased.

This cable is overall horrible. It keeps on bunching up and i have to buy a new one every few months.

Poorly Constructed

You would expect Apple to design something that lasts, but these Lightning cables are the worst thing they've released. And I remember Pippin. I've gone through at least 8 of these in the last couple of years because after a couple of months the sheath starts bunching up at one end and eventually splits open, after which it's only a matter of time before the cable completely dies due to frayed ends. Avoid and get a decent third-party MFi-certified cable. Apple needs to get on the ball and fix these.

Not durable

Im already at my second charger and even with extra care it still ends up crumbling but still a nice looking charger though

its works for at least 2-3 months then it starts to wrinkle at the end and eventually it will split open.

The wire itself works fine... for awhile. Then within 2-3 months I need to replace it. I am on my 9th charger in less than 2 years. Very disappointed Apple started sacrificing quality to get more money of its customers. I had no problem with the original change to the wire from the larger one on older models - but at least offer us a product that lasts.

Very good

This is a very nice and good charger but the one thing after a year or so the end starts to bunch up and "wrinkles" appear

Although this is a great charger. I am experiencing the downfall to all chargers. I expected this to be a very long lasting charger, and was disappointed with the outcome. My guess is that the wires on the interior of the cable .. umm.. well? Burnt out? Snapped? Not 100% sure but still. I now have to go out without an iPhone until i can buy another charger.

Does the job

It charges like it should problems so far..

About time!

Apple has had it's 30 pin connector for a decade, it was great when it came out but now it just seems large and flimsy. The Lighting connector is sturdy and compact.

Great Build Quality

I am a little upset I need to buy a few more Lightning to USB cables for around the house. But my five star rating has nothing to do with Apple's decision to switch, but with the cable's build quality and usefulness. I think this is the most underrated feature of iPhone 5. I love how I can just jump in bed in pitch black darkness and not worry about what way I should plug in my phone.
