This is the first set of headphones I've ever owned and I am thrilled with them. I now play my favourite music and it's lovelier than before - I hear all the various instruments and everything is crystal clear. It's like being in a concert hall.

Worth the Money

Bought these head phones after reading some reviews and they are awesome for the price. Was looking for something over ear with less bass and these do a great job. better if you can get it price matched.

Best bang for your buck!

I had done a bit of research on these headphones before purchasing and I still went with the masses and purchased the beats headphones instead. After receiving and trying out the beats I was very unimpressed and returned them for these beauties! Should have gone with what the research/reviews said and got these from the beginning. Get them while you can because they always seem to be sold out (for valid reason)

ATH-M40x Deserve High Rating

ATH-M40x gets a 5.0 Star Rating from me especially when considering its affordable price range ... 4.0 Stars in any price range which means they are that good. Sampled 6 different headphones and these win. True sound replication, powerful, accurate, and comfortable too. Love that it comes with two 3.5 mm audio cables (straight and coil) plus a 1/4-inch adapter. Great value here.

great sound stage

I'm not a professional or audiophile I just love headphones aand music, that being said I really like the sound stage on these headphones they are studio headphones and can separate the vocals & instruments very easily, the build quality on these is very good not great but very good I'll start off with the pros . Pros light weight feels durable and sturdy enough for its weight and last I like that you can very easily change the ear pads if you don't like them they are ok but I can't use them after and hour but I have glasses I have to take.break most of the time Cons the hinge and ear cups are very loose I think it's for when you are in the studio and need to take off a ear cup off one ear. Overall I like theses

Outstanding pair of headphones. Sound is neutral and that's how I prefer listening to music. Would recommend. Fit is comfortable and I wear glasses.

Some flaws

Sound Sound wise they are very neutral. Mid range is definitely a step up from the m30x. Sound is definitely good for the price. Value Is the m50x worth it? Not good enough to be double the cost of these. MUCH MUCH better value in these over the m50x The Bad - Long cords - You will have to spend some money to get a shorter cord if you want portability - Plastic around the swivels is weak. Mine arrived with cracks in that spot on both sides. I had to return them. I view this as a design flaw rather than a defect in only my pair. Plastic is thin there. You have to be careful with these headphones. Surprisingly the m30x does not have this flaw. - Swivel direction is wrong. When wearing the R on your right and L on your left, the cups swivel up. When you take them off and try to put on your chest you can't put the cups facing down. This is stupid IMHO. Most people will want to put the cups down instead of facing up.

Great Headphones !

I really like these headphones. They sound great ! My brother has the M 50x and I found that they had too much bass for what I needed, so I bought the M 40x cause I heard they had less bass.I use them in my recording studio. The only reason I don't give it 5 stars is because I still find they have a bit too much bass for recording or mixing purposes . You want them to be as neutral as possible

One of the best headphone's in the market. Better than Sony. You can hear all the frequencies. No disappointments!!
