Peace and quiet

You can listen to the softest music aboard the loudest train with these. They do best with constant noises like air-conditioners, engines, and people who drone on monotonously. The sound is very good, too. The cable is actually a bit too long, but I find the removable battery to be a huge plus (you'll want to use rechargables). They get a bit muggy in summer and the noise cancelling does more harm than good in direct wind, but they double as earmuffs in winter! Worth much more than the price.

quietcomfort 25

Nice product, however it does not completely eliminate some frequencies (mid/high range). If complete silence is what one is looking for, than combine with good quality ear plugs. If one intends to listen to music, get something better. After having 3 bose products now, I can say that I am not overly impressed.

BOSE QuietComfort 25 Over-Ear Noise Cancelling Headphones

Only owned these headphones for a month but have had no problems with them at all. They are very light weight and comfortable. I wear them in a noisy factory while working and the sound is amazing. Noise cancelling technology is exceptional. Wearing them at home while listening to music and laying back its like you are floating. Really enjoying them so far.

They're amazing headphones, but I'm on my third pair. The design is defective and will last you only a year (max). Please read other reviews and see.

Amazing headphones - when they work

These headphones are the best headphones I've ever had (when they work). I'm on my 3rd pair because the right earphone always blows out. Not sure what's going on since I don't really listen to loud music. I would buy insurance on them.

Broke just outside of warranty

I have had these headphones just over 13 months. Today, the left earpiece stopped working completely. I researched this and it seems like there are quite a few people who have had this issue. For the price, they should last YEARS not months. Terrible quality, and unless my credit card will honour an extra 1 year warranty then I am out of luck for a replacement. While they were working they were okay - great noise cancelling, but so-so music quality. I have never treated these roughly, and always pack them back in the case after use. I am disgusted that they should break so quickly.

Poor quality

I bought this "premium" headphone on August 4th, 2015, on Best Buy - Cambie (2220 Cambie St. Vancouver, BC). Less than one year (July 7th, 2016) the product just stopped working. I am very disappointed. I had to pay to send the "premium" headphone to the technical support. In addition, I don´t know if they will replace the item. It is an extremely poor quality product. Despite of the good reviews. Avoid. There are more affordable products with a much better quality

I love how they work...but they break

I have now gone through 2 sets of Bose QC headphones. The noise cancelling is amazing....unfortunately both pairs have failed the same way...a blown speaker....I actually don't even listen to music with it wasn't excessive volume that blew the speakers, but poor design A look at the discussion boards and Bose has known about this problem for a long time...and chose to do nothing...unfortunate That said....I will buy my 3rd set....because they work so well I think I might by the insurance this time

Great for long-haul fllights

I bought these headphones to be used for in-flight entertainment for my 18-hour flight. It minimized the loud airplane cabin sound by about 80%-90%, hence allowing me to enjoy the movies and listening to music. I have also used this headphones during my sleep/nap time even though I wasn't listening to anything, still I couldn't hear the cabin sound and passengers talking. Although this product is pricey and a bit heavy for my ears (I'm petite), I would recommend this to anyone who likes to travel by airplane. I would have given a 5-star rating if the price is a little bit cheaper.

Bose never fails to impress me.

These are by far the best over ear, noise cancelling headphones on the market today. One again Bose never fails to impress. Very high quality materials and EXTREMELY COMFORTABLE EVEN AFTER 5-6 hours. They're extremely light and it doesnt even feel like you're wearing headphones. 5/5 in my opinion. Thanks Bose :)

You get what you pay for.

Sure it hurts to shell out [price] for a pair of headphones but once you get them home you'll realize why they cost so much. These are absolutely essential for travelling, whether it's daily local commuting or long haul flights. When put in active mode they shut out 90% of ambient sound and you're left in absolute peace. 10/10, would recommend.

  • from Toronto, ON

it works.

SoundTrue II's were a bit more comfortable, but these aren't bad. Has bass, but not enough for the bass addicts. Good sound for non-audiophiles. Detachable cable in these is good for many reasons i wont state here. Value... I wouldn't buy them again, but these are good. If the review was based solely on noise cancellation, I'd give a 4.8/5. I recommend these for college students with loud roommates, office workers workers in a loud environment, short airplane rides... I wouldn't wear these for too long as they do press against the sides a bit more than i'd like. Take the 4/5 as a warning. If you want good music only, go with a pair of openback headphones and listen in a quiet environment. If you want to block out the world around you, get these.

Bose QC-25 Noise Cancelling Headphones

These are the best headphones I have ever owned. The sound quality is great (with the battery) and it is alright without it. They cancel out annoying background noises well like airplane engines and wind noise when you are a passenger in a car. You can faintly hear voices but not while listening to music. The only thing i could ask of these headphones is for them to have a re-chargeable battery. The AAA lasts about 35 hours which lasts me a month (I use them a lot) but I would recommend to always have an extra battery with the headphones. The right ear cup actually stopped working just yesterday and the experience at the Bose store was great. The guy looked at them, decided they were defective and gave me a new pair. He even offered me to change the colour! I recommend these over beats if you car about sound quality and not just style.

Amazing headphones - if they aren't defective

I've gone through 2 of these and both times the right can has died. I am not a harsh user and these are only utilized when travelling. Disappointing to discover they are defective once I"m in the air :(

I am a frequent traveller and was looking to buy these headphones before heading on a 15 hour flight. By far, the best investment I have made. The noise cancelling option completely omits to drone noise within the aircraft cabin, and muffles voices (especially crying babies). Great for studying, or when you need to get work done and focus. Excellent sound quality when listening to music as well. I highly recommend these to anyone who travels a lot and needs a quiet environment. PS. If you stand beside running water with them on, and then turn on the noise cancelling feature, listen to the difference!

  • from Toronto, ON

I used this on a flight home from vacation and it helped block out 2 screaming babies. Made the flight comfortable. You could still hear them, but they sounded very distant. I definitely recommend this, especially for frequent travellers! it is worth every dollar.

I just purchased these yesterday and I must say it just takes you away from everything. The noise cancellation is superb and the sound quality is in my opinion elevated due to that especially on my rides on the GO Train and walking in Downtown Toronto. Will recommend to anyone looking for a pair of headphones to improve focus and flow in their life. Cheers Brad

Noise cancelling is excellent, music not so much

If you are looking for superior audio quality, look elsewhere. If you need noise cancelling, look no further. I use these almost daily in my office to combat distractions. Once switched on with music at a low volume, I hear NO outside sound at all. A little expensive I think.

Lovely headphones!

These headphones are vastly superior to the cheaper ones I had previously. Very comfortable on the ears and noise cancelling really works. Great sound. Hope they last the advertised length of time - especially on long flights. The web site said they had inline volume control but this doesn't work with my Sony MP3 player - I could find no difference in sound level when I pressed the + and - buttons. I had even questioned the person in the store when I tried them out and they said the inline volume control would work with my player. However, other than that, they are great and I hope to use them for a long time.

The most comfortable noise cancelling headphones

Bose is very well known for making the most comfortable headphones and this one is no exception of that. It's such an amazing headphones and the noise cancelling feature works really well. You will be in other world where you will be only left with your music. Such an amazing product and recommended,,the only thing that would have made it perfect is it is very pricey but other than that it is the best of its class.

Highly Recommended

I've owned a set of QC 15's for a few years now and have been completely satisfied with them. My wife and I are heading off on vacation soon involving about sixteen hours of plane travel each way. So, I went shopping to buy a second pair of QC 15's for my wife. When I got to the store I discovered that the QC 15's have been replaced with the QC 25's. Based on the comfort, quality and noise cancelling of the QC 15's, I didn't hesitate to purchase the updated QC25's. We've tried them out and are equally impressed with the QC 25 headphones. Great headphones and fantastic at cancelling outside noise especially that droning aircraft noise.

Not Perfected, But Very Very Good

I have a pair of Klipsch Mode M40 noise-cancelling headphones. Musically they are very good, but the noise-cancelling is very disappointing. I bought the Bose QC25's after being impressed by an in-store demo. The Bose headphones are VASTLY superior to the Klipsch in their noise-cancelling function. I work in a noisy office and the Bose QC25's do a superb job of eliminating low frequency noises, like the hum and rumble of ventilation equipment, trucks idling and boomy sound systems. Some voices are blocked completely and some with higher pitched elements still come through, but are easy to ignore. The Bose headphones are much lighter and more comfortable than the Klipsch, though they look a bit plain. Perhaps this is an advantage, as they are less likely to attract attention and get "borrowed". Noise-cancelling technology hasn't been perfected yet, but the QC25's are by far the best noise-cancelling headphones available now and the high price reflects this. There are better headphones available, but the Bose QC25's are the only noise-cancelling headphones worth buying.

It works

Finally took the plunge on getting the Bose Qc and immediately put it on test. One of the better place to use it is on an open food court inside a mall. Switching the NC switch on and all the Hums from cooking exhaust, buzz in the side the court, other noises except with adjacent table conversation all disappeared. It can receive phone calls thru my iphone just by using the cord switch. I will recommend this anytime. The cost is always constant and if you have points rewards redeemable to a bestbuy card will be good as what I did.

very good

Very Good! this price much better than Monster Beats.

Simply Amazing

At work, I am constantly surrounded by loudly talking people. I used to find this very distracting, so I decided to purchase a Bose QC25 after reading many reviews online. My main purpose for this relatively high payment was the "noise cancelling" feature. I must confess, this feature on QC25 is unbelievable. When you put it on without active noise cancelling ON, the soft material muffles all incoming noise and reduces noise level to some good degree. When you turn on the active noise cancelling, it silences the constant background noise. Furthermore, it feels as if all talking people around you suddenly go beyond 15 meters radius from you... phenomenal... With this huge "give", comes a small "take": The sound quality gets slightly "stripped" with active noise cancelling ON. This is the case for any product acclaiming decent noise cancellation. In return, it certainly offers the user, a true "Quiet Comfort" experience you have to be in a distracting and noisy environment and use QC25 in order to appreciate.

  • from Scarborough, ON

The QC25 is absountely worth that much of spending

The performance of noise-cancelling is absolutely fantastic. Once you put on your QC 25, there is nothing else left in the world but your music and you. The headphones also come with a airplane entertainment adopter, which makes them the best companions for frequent travelers. However, as the ratings i gave above, the price is little too pricy and the comfortableness really isn't prefect. I specifically point out con in the comfortableness, the headphones are somehow a little too tight and they will really squeeze ears when you use them for more than 2 or 3 hours.
