Awesome printer

The print quality is second to none. The ink seems to last quite a while, but the cost of the replacements are expensive.

I have had this printer for about a year now. I am a wildlife photographer and thought when I started that it would be great to be able to produce large prints at home. I quickly found out that there is a whole lot more to home printing with a large format printer than meets the eye. The printer itself has been great as regards clarity of output. I use only Canon ink replacement and do not fool around with third party stuff or messy refills. I also use the expensive Canon Pro Luster paper for my prints. The main problem that I have is that all my prints come out with a green cast to them. I use the included Canon software and recommended paper profiles. I have tried everything from buying expensive calibration devices (spyder elite+) for monitor adjustment to doing a lot of proof photos with different custom settings to solve my problem but nothing seems to work. Sometimes I can get a color rendition that is acceptable but it is totally dependant on the image itself and is not consistent. I would advise people who are thinking of going into large format printing to make sure you have as much knowledge as possible about color matching, profiles, paper types, calibration and different makes of large format printers before proceeding. You also need to use this printer on a regular basis. I always make sure that I run at least one 4 X 6 print through it once a month to make sure the head does not clog. Conclusion: A person should make sure that they are buying this printer for the right reason and not just as a novelty item that is used on the odd occasion. Needless to say, I am a bit disillusioned and my Pro-100 is gathering a bit of dust right now.

Canon Pixma Pro-100

I have only made 8.5x11" prints and so far very excellent output. Really, it's the best value 13" wide printer available. Strengths: * Bold accurate colours (if maybe a touch darker than expected - ensure you calibrate your monitor and use the correct paper profile). * Black and white is neutral and blacks are very deep (especially on gloss/lustre/semi-gloss). * Relatively quick printing. Weakness: * Custom paper/size impose large margins at top and bottom (30 mm each) and small margins left and right (3.4 mm each) * Only support 2.4 GHz frequency on Wireless LAN. Does not support 5 GHz frequency. * Setting up wireless connection a little difficult because of no screen.

It's Big!

Great prints, but the dimensions of the unit are slightly off the mark. The paper feed trays need 7-10 more inches behind the 15 inch unit body. Wireless is great but the Canon software is junk. Haven't tried printing directly onto a disc yet.

Slow, heavy and expensive ink

Ok, quality of print is good, though ink runs out as quick as any printer and it's more expensive because there are more ink cartridges to buy. It is as heavy as stuffed luggage traveling somewhere you plan to stay for a month. It's like a tank. I hate the idea of moving because I have to drag that thing around. It's slow as hell too. It takes about 4 minutes to print a document from the time I hit print to when the paper comes out. It's slower than turtle poop. I wouldn't recommend it at all.

Great printer for photograpy

Great buy. Had some difficulty connecting with wifi. I connected using usb. I then rebooted the CD and changed connection method to wifi and presto, it worked. The printer is a bit heavy and wide, however I'm willing to accept that considering the quality of the printing. I'm also not fond of Canon's dedicated graphics programs but that is a personal choice and would not affect my reccomendation for the printer itself. Hope this is helpfull

Great Photo Printer

Bought this printer in the hope I could get something I could actually print quality photos with. This Canon Pima Pro 100, does a fantastic job. Well worth the regular retail price, but if you get it at a sale price, all the more GREAT.

Great Pictures

Bought a Canon 70D a few years ago, had a lot of pictures on computer but no prints. Bought this on sale over the holidays and after printing my first picture using the Wi Fi, I was very happy with the quality of the print. Then I printed a picture from my cell phone, and again a great picture. I'am using Plus Glossy II, and Pro Platinum photo paper. It's great being able to print great pictures from home at a decent price.

Canon Pixma Pro 100

I love this printer. Haven't done enough printing yet to do an evaluation of ink usage or otherwise, but so far, I do like the large format for printing 11" x 17" and 13" x 19". Awesome.

Canon PIXMA Printer (PRO-100)

I highly recommend this printer to anyone on a controlled budget .The price will meet everyone's budget I'm sure. Setting up the printer is straight forward and it worked great from the 1st print on. Take your time it is user friendly. The prints are of excellent quality ..Slow? not really ..I'll take slow anytime for the quality like this. I'm particular impressed with the little amount of ink I've used. I have printed (7) 13x19 and (6) 8.5x11 the amount of ink in the tanks remain still more than half full! The Canon Pixma Pro -100 is a excellent product thank you. .

Pixma Pro 100

Have used it to print photos and art productions, and it has produced fantastic results. Very pleased, in every respect. Still on the supplied ink , and it seems to do well on ink usage.

Professional quality and value combined

As a designer I highly recommend this unit. Though the printing speed is a little slow, it's made up by the excellent print quality and the price. Great overall.

A much needed replacement for my dead i9900

I had a hard time seeing this printer output better images than my old i9900 but I was very surprised with the results! Instead of the red/green tanks it uses 2 shades of grey, this drastically reduces the usage of the photo cyan/magenta inks, which always ran out on the i9900. The machine itself is massive, and very quiet in use. The wifi once paired works great and allows everyone to use it without having to turn my main desktop on anymore =) So far the colours have been excellent with no noticeable loss due to the lack of red/green, and the output is much smoother. It also has a rear loading tray for larger fine art papers etc, and a cd/dvd printing tray. Features my i9900 lacked. I picked this up for almost half price, and if it lasts as long as my i9900 (6+years) I will be very happy!

Excellent Entry Pro Photos

This printer is fantastic for the entry photographer who want's to start printing from home. This printer puts out better than lab quality prints from home at a fantastic price point. Definitely worth the investment to start putting out enlargements from home.
