fake device

Yet another fake device from china for a reputable brand.

  • from Marlyand

Canon used to be a reliable company, but this product is absolute garbage. Alarm light will not shut off when plugged in, and there is no information on how to trouble shoot. Incomprehensible directions, and a setup disc that doesn't even work with a Mac. Customer service unreachable, Canon's website doesn't even work -- you can't even send an email query from their Help site! Horrible product and even worse customer service. Would not buy ANY product from Canon again after this.

This device is crap plain and simple.....

  • from Toronto, ON

Didn't Work

Wireless setup didn't work, getting the ink Cartridges in was a pain. Instructions were lackluster at best. Would never buy a canon printer again.

  • from Kamloops, BC

Great printer!

This unit works like a charm! It was so easy to set-up I was scanning & printing in less than 5 minutes. I would use the term 'idiot-proof' but clearly there are a few idiots out there who bought this unit & well... I will leave it at that.

Worst Printer Ever

Its super user unfriendly even when it works, which is about 20% of the time. Absolute worst piece of junk i've ever purchased, i wouldn't accept this if someone paid me to keep it. Don't waste your money on this, you'll just have to end up spending more money on another one

  • from Calgary, AB

So frustrating

Definitely not user friendly, can't get anything to print, nothing but a huge headache!!

Canon Mg3029

I thought it was a fabulous deal. Had some trouble at first. After 4 months the ink ran out. Looking on here to purchase ink. OMG. IT'S MORE EXPENSIVE THEN THE WHOE PRINTER! Very disappointed!

  • from Nanaimo

Not worth 1 Star!

Do not waste your time with this printer. It is the most un-user friendly piece of plastic. And, I have only printed maybe a dozen things and it says the ink needs replacing. Save yourself the headache.

  • from Ottawa, ON

Should have read the reviews on this one.

At first glance, it's made with really cheap plastic, it comes with a useless pictograph of an installation manual. The installation software is painfully slow and not very clear at all. There are lights that flash and buttons to push but nowhere in the instructions are they explained. Going to the website gives you an electronic version of the same useless instructions that are in the box. I first tried wireless setup, that wasn't working so I opted instead for USB set up - even though that's not what I wanted. After 4 hours or getting nowhere, I packed it all back up in the box and took it back to Best Buy. I was so let down that they would even sell such a crappy product that I went to the competition and got something else. I give this one star only because you can't give it zero start. Utter junk.

sale price 40 bucks, didn't have any issues installing it over wifi. I think its a good deal

  • from Kingston, ON

So far so good...

So far so good. I haven't used it too much yet, so it's still new to me. I thought setup was fairly easy, didn't take long at all. Delivery was extremely fast!!

  • from Kingston, ON

bad printer

I bought this printer model. The installation stopped for 3 times and I had to reboot. I've been using it for a few days now and every time I need to look for the configuration. I regretted buying this model.

  • from BC

A decent door stop?

As mentioned by others, a pain to set up and prints slow and sporadically. Next time I want a door stop, I will save my money and find a suitable sized rock from outside.

  • from Belleville ON

Just no

got this as a christmas present and nomatter what i do i cannot get the wifi to work and i am more than capable of building my own computer but this thing not even i could figure out absolute garbage

  • from Brampton, ON

This printer will not and was engineered not to print on the bottom 1.5 inch of the page!!! So anything you print that extends into this space will be cut off. In utter disbelief I called Canon themselves who did nothing but confirm this. Why you would engineer a printer to leave a giant white border on the bottom of every page and cut off documents, I do not know... but they did it. If you don't believe me, call them yourself 18006522666.

Piece of crap

Easy enough to install, but has not been able to complete a single print job without endless interventions.

Canon PIXMA Wireless All-In-One Inkjet Printer (MG3029)

First I love the two huge inks which i think is way easier and better to use. They are easy to install and cheaper to replace other than 5 inks. I mostly print Black anyway. It's the right size, scans old pictures clearly and fast using the Utility little bar in my programs - U canon Utility. Not the other bar on the bottom corner of your screen which I only found It's not hard to install wireless it pics up the modem on it's own when going step by step with the CD instructions followed step by step. I set everything to high quality and it's just perfect. Prints fine clear documents with color on good quality paper. I must say I'm in love with it since I have bought so many Canon Printers. Remember, if you want really high quality Photo's use a higher Quality Model of Canon. But if your like me and want something simple and Top Gun and wireless for Basic needs this is the Greatest Printer Money can buy Bang for Buck. Years ago i bought his older model little brother and it was my favorite printer so I bought this type of printer again and love it. Thank you Canon developers and BEST BUY for such a great Product for and affordable price. I really appreciate it.

Paid $51 dollars on sale !

Ok Installed it using instructions very easily and got it working Wi-Fi no problem very easy. Prints really great and clear I am surprised how well it prints actually. rich colorful and clear. It's scanner is very accurate and fast which again surprised me. It works well no problems so far smooth as pie. Great price great deal dos what I need and it's just simple prints anyway so it's far more than I need I bought it actually to print my bets on Hockey so I don't have to fill out that ticket at the dep. I highly recommend it for anyone who just needs a cheap great little basic printer. Excellent. for what it is.

Absolute Garbage

I brought this printer to replace my previous Canon MG 3120. I have installed it three times and it still works sporadically. A complete time waste and time waster. DO NOT BUY THIS PRINTER!

  • from Vancouver, BC

impossible to set up

this thing is a headache

  • from Fredericton, NB

Price was great and works great too. I found it easy to set up but I'm not running it wireless I attached the cable

  • from Ottawa, ON

This thing was sold to me at Best Buy as an easy install, easy to use Printer. It is the opposite. I hate this thing. Thanks for the bad advice BB. I told the salesperson I had a Mac but I get the feeling no matter what you have, this is gonna be a time drain.

  • from Edmonton, AB

Good product.

It does what I wanted and that is why i bought the printer.

  • from Toronto, ON

Not as bad as you think...

I thought it might be worthwhile to write a review that wasn't biased to how bad the initial setup was. While it was definitely frustrating to set up the printer initially, they DO give options to do the setup wirelessly and through USB. The setup isn't actually all that hard, when you follow the instructions properly, the setup is very quick. Once the printer is setup, it prints perfectly fine. It functions as it is meant to, prints, scans, etc. all while being wireless. The printer does its job. I made the effort of writing this review because I hate when people give a completely biased review based on one aspect. Sure the setup can confuse some people and perhaps it may not work for others, but in terms of the actual performance of the printer: it is pretty good. I gave it four stars because even though I had a smooth setup, (all you need to do is follow the instructions exactly how it says and it literally will take around 5 minutes) I can see why others could potentially have a hard time.

Not Good

The only thing I liked about this printer is the paper feed from the back. I had trouble printing a word doc and had to make it a PDF before it would print. Instructions in general were not good. It may work for me because I have very specific need to print on card stock. Because the paper feeds from the back and goes straight through it doesn't jam. It is very slow but it did work.

Absolutely garbage

This printer may be the worst piece of technology I've ever purchased, it is absolutely horrendous to try to install. I'm not sure if it is easier with the install cd but my laptop doesn't have a disc tray so I tried following the absolutely horrible instructions to get the driver online, for one those instructions may as well be thrown in the garbage the second you open the box because they are less than useless. The driver link it sends you too downloads the driver but it refuses to install. After searching the internet for who knows how long I found a different driver that at least gets me into a set up but when I go to find the printer it says it cannot be found. Then I search the internet even further to find out how I can find the printer, it tells me a series of buttons I push on the printer to print out info about it. Well now I find out the printer is not yet connected to the internet. Only problem is I've been searching and searching to find out how I connect to my router with no luck. It's been three hours now of trying to install this printer and I have made no progress. In about an hour if this thing is not installed I am going to take it outside and introduce it to my sledge hammer. DO NOT BUY THIS PRINTER!

  • from Summer land, BC

Near impossible to set it up, no manual and NOT simple at all. I went on the canon app to set it up and this printer isn't even there.

  • from London, ON

3 hours later and still not working

Pictograph of how to install the printer, then Used CD, then went to the http address but nothing shows why the on button keeps flashing and the wireless button will not turn on even after being held for 2 seconds. The printer does not show up on the list of printers during the manual version of installing AND it does not allow me to enter the 3029 anywhere. After 3 hours of our time, we have decided to return it to the store and continue using our HP even though it is not wireless. We were hoping to be able to use our tablets or phone. NOT HAPPENING. Suggestion - canon to provide a 1-888 phone helpline

Great Printer for the money

Set up was fast and easy. Downloaded the drivers as my computer does not have a disc drive. Up and running in less than 5minutes

  • from Kelowna, BC

Good value for money

We have only used the printer a couple of times since purchase. Overall for small painting jobs in conjunction with tablet it is perfect. LIMITED editing but still works well.

  • from Ottawa, ON

Pretty awesome

Overall really good. Works well with good value for the price. The only thing that I didn't like was the setup. It was a little annoying and not straight forward. Can't seem to add stars it would be 4. Though

Printer would not work Called canon support and was told faulty printer and that they would send me another e-mailed canon as instructed 4 days ago and have not been acknowledged yet would not recommend another

  • from Toronto, ON

Worst Printer Ever

Extremely slow and noisy. No cables included, and according to manufacturer's website, it doesn't exist so you have to download drivers from third-party websites. Flimsy trays and lids that rattle. There is no scan button and it is an exercise in frustration trying to scan something. Print quality is awful. Do not buy unless you need a doorstop or paperweight.

  • from Toronto, ON

Simply Awful

This printer is the worst designed device I have ever purchased. Installation takes unacceptably long. It ships with no manual, only a useless pictogram, and according to Canon Canada, this printer does not exist. Good luck if your computer has no optical drive- this printer doesn't ship with a USB cable. Scanning? Good luck. There is no "Scan" button. Instead, you will have to go online, search for the driver package, download it, mess around with the settings so the printer doesn't lose your documents - and then, hopefully you will be able to find and rename them. Canon's customer service is nonexistent- you wait on hold only to be hung up on and asked invasive details. This is the first and last time I have purchased a Canon printer. Walking to a print shop in freezing rain would be a more pleasant and productive experience than trying to use this printer.
