Aweful

Not happy, would work for 1 day then next day not over and over again had to reinstall every day. I had a printer for 12 years paper never once jammed or gave me a single problem. it became obsolete to windows 10 I had installed. That is how I thought printers were.Good reliable functioning products. Now garbage. I read reviews for first time and am shocked that as consumers we THINK we have to tolerate this. Not acceptable in an age where we are advancing? This piece of crap jammed first time and there after.

Recommend looking elsewhere

DISCLAIMER: I have a PIXMA 432, not this exact model. That said, I don't think I will consider Canon again. The drivers were bloatware, loaded with features I will never use. The self cleaning function was all but useless, and unlike other inkjet printers, I couldn't figure out how to remove the printheads for a physical cleaning. While I got the WiFi to work OK, I couldn't get my PC to recognize the physical connection. This meant scanning, a feature I wanted, didn't work. Print quality was just OK. But due to the printhead problem, the unit was scrap after only 2 years -- and I don't print all that much. Saving grace? It was only 50 bucks on sale. Still, I wished I had spent a little more and gotten better.

DO NOT BUY!!!!

I am a real estate agent and thought I was making a wise investment...it runs out of ink less than two days, when scanning important documents, it shifts them to the side, then snags them. The printer has basically never worked, have to go to the library for printing, and the scanner has always been hit and miss, but now it's wait 15 minutes for one page. All the good reviews (the ones that start negative but end with a positive "I figured it out" five stars) are likely fake. I live three hours from purchase site, or else I would've taken it back. This machine has probably hurt my business, as well, and, from what I've heard, a good printer can be bought for way less.

Good Printer

Great value for the price. The bad reviews are really unwarranted. Set up is easy and all the features that a printer should have are there.

Slow printer

Super slow, no duplex printing, not worth your money

Wifi doesn't work, and the unit constantly has to be restarted.

As I said in the title, rarely have I been able to get the wifi printing to work. The whole unit is built cheaply and even to get wired USB printing to work, you have to keep restarting it.

Awesome printer

Note: for fellow Mac users, if you go to system preferences and select printer/scanner and then select scanner, you will be taken to a screen where you can scan your document, photo, etc...It took me a couple of times to get it, but it does work. After you hear the printer scanner, the image will not show up on the screen viewer until you click on the "preview" option. The only think I have not yet figured out is how to scan several pages into one file. However, I am content for now that I managed to get everything working and the features all work wonderfully.

Problems

The paper tray is difficult to load paper gets jammed etc. I would have worded buttons and not images. The image of a stack of paper means nothing to me. Mine won't print from wi-fi and when programming to link, is my 492 series a printer or fax .....the given options..mine is both. I miss my lexmark....

Worst Printer

I'm giving this printer a one, because it does print, but the set up for scanning is challenging, unclear and finally I have given up. It is a cheap printer, but don't count on it for anything else.

Great all in one at this price

I've been reading the reviews on this printer (MX 492) and am surprised with some people. Read the Quick setup guide and follow it. If you have problems with the wireless part, call someone smarter than you. If paper jams, there are 2 covers that can be easily opened exposing all the feed rollers... don't just grab paper and yank it. Is it noisy? Well, I can hear it down the hall, which is kinda nice when you're printing wirelessly. The scan feature is almost inaudible. The sheet feeder is awesome for copy, scan and fax - load it up and go! Ink replacement is as inexpensive as it gets, just always use the XL versions of your cartridges. There are Canon photo printers in the same price range with better resolution, but for most people this one will do just fine. And, the printer will let you print until the ink is actually empty to the point of fading, unlike some other brands. At this price, it's the best in class all around machine.

Go go go printer!!!

In general this was an easy set up but when it came to setting up on my network it was a challenge. I finally got it to work and its an amazing printer. It does a great job of printing reports, tickets, resumes, etc. I am happy that I got this printer was worth the money.

This is a great little printer

I have had no trouble with this device, or the documentation and software which accompanied it. It is a great little printer...so simple to set up and use, for anyone willing to refrain from treating it unwisely.

jammed? don`t try to pull paper out, or it will wreck the paper input.

jammed? don`t try to pull paper out, or it will wreck the paper input. I tried to use after pulling out jammed paper and it would no longer grab the paper to print. otherwise not a bad printer.

Does this scan????

I bought this printer and it works fine for printing and copying but can't figure out how to scan to my MacBook Pro. Any suggestions? Do I need a USB cable?

Good Product

Seems okay so far... I am happy it has the document feed. Pretty cheap that it doesn't come with a USB to USB cord.

Great so far!

This has served its purpose well so far, especially for the price. My only hope is that it lasts over time. It was easy to install, connects well through our wireless network, prints well, and scans without a problem. I am happy so far but a bit skeptical of long term results given the price point. We shall see!

No 2 sided printing for a Mac

As it says automatic 2 sided printing but this is not true we have been in touch with canon and they pretty much told us its are problem. Can't take it back because we have had it to long. I do not recommend Canon printers to any one they don't stand by there product. Best Buy has been good about the the problem but they do have there guidelines to follow and I don't believe its there problem.

Poor menu layout & poor installation walk thru...

Awkward setup, slow, with little information as to what is happening. changed from a Kodak 2550 printer(finally failed), sooo easy. not so with the Cannon.

Lacks Scanning Software

Works well for basic print jobs. Canon is missing scanning software and so even if it does copy, it won't scan anything into your computer. Copy function is fine. Printing is fine. Good value.

All in one printers are garbage

I bought the Pixma 722 from BestBuy. The ink dries up if you don't use it a lot and it won't print or fax if any one of the five ink cartridges is empty. I bought a new cartridge of black ink but before I could use it the magenta (which I never use) dried up. Before I wasted even more money, I bought a Samsung printer that used black toner instead of colour cartridges. I thought I would still be able to use the Canon as a fax and copy machine but learned that it won't do anything when even one ink cartridge is empty.

Great printer which more than met my expectations. Great price as well. Refill ink cartrridges are also reasonable when compared to other ink-jet printers in this category

perfect printer for my needs

I wanted a printer/scanner that was wireless for my home use. I am very pleased with the results from this printer and the price was amazing! It is perfect for my home use. I did have a Canon prior to this one that was about 4 years old but unfortunately it got dropped during a move. I am very pleased with the new one

Worst buy ever

don't do it. It is a terrible printer. I had to connect to my network every time I need to print (meaning I had to type in the password of my network every single time). How a company named best buy can carry this junk baffles me. Worst buy ever (I am returning it and I had only had it for less than 24 hours)

Does not work consistently

I have had many Canon printers and always taken care of it but they all seem to give you random errors every once in a while. I am having major problems with this one! It is constantly telling me that the printer is already in use by someone (only ever hooked up to 1 laptop) or when I turn it on, I will get this message on the screen of the printer : "Please wait a while". It is a constant struggle to find helpful solutions on the internet and their (Canon's) customer support is not good! Don't waste your money.

Great Inexpensive Inkjet

Got it at a decent sale price and love it. My only complaints are: like all inkjets, the ink is ridiculously expensive and levels drop far too quickly and the inability to adjust print quality. Other than that, both scanners function well, the wireless works great, and print quality is better than acceptable.
