Works as intended

From upstairs to the basement finally got internet down there. The AV500 would show us a red light and give us a bad connection of 1-2mbps but with AV2000 get around 20mbps, still short of what I pay for but considering how far it is and also how far it is on the circuit breaker which is what matters the most, it does the job. Been through a few other products, just pay the extra for this and you won't be disappointed. If this doesn't work, you'll need those new big routers that are used for commercial purposes to get internet in your home.

So far so good!

Was struggling with my wireless connection to my work PC at home with slow speeds. Tried some Wi-Fi extenders/boosters with minimal results. Purchased this about a week ago and I have consistent 55Meg now at my PC. I've heard from others that running the dryer or other high voltage appliances caused interference with their connection and speed. I've had no issues with my VPN staying connected around the clock and it works great.

Max speed achieved 80-90Mbps versus the 140Mbps achieved via Wifi

I purchased this device to improved the speed going to my android box as hard wired to the router gets speeds over 300Mbps but maxing out at about 160Mbps via wifi connection.. I was disappointed to find that the speed achieved with this product claiming to be up to 1Gbps produced speeds nearly half of what I aheivex wirelessly..

Plug N Play Speed

This item was excellent value on sale. With wireless N, the PC was getting 15 Mbps. I used this item to build a local network with a D-Link gigabit switch in room upstairs from the router. Now PCs and printer are giabit connected. Internet download speed is over 175 Mbps with Shaw 150 service!

Kept Disconnecting

I followed all the instructions but could not get this to work right. I even changed outlets but it still kept getting disconnected every hour or so. Not worth the aggravation.

Exactly what I needed

We recently moved to a house and our Smart TV is now located far from the internet router which is up-stairs close to my PC. Wireless signal is very weak where my TV is located and for this reason I couldn't enjoy the full HD quality when watching Netflix. Installed two of these bad boys and they solved my problem without any additional re-wiring cost, etc. Highly recommended.

2gig D-Links - great product

Great to find a genuine Plug-and-Play product. Works as advertised, straight out of the box. And immediately all our devices got 1.5x - 2.5x faster connection than going via WiFi. Works with the various wiring setups in the house, and extension cords, etc. JUST - could D-Link and BestBuy now get the 3-port/power-through device that is available in 500Mbps, please sell the 2Gbps version.

The Best and The Easiest

These are phenomenal. I have them connected to each other from the top floor of a 30 year old home to the bottom floor in the basement. Several appliances and electronics are used at varying times throughout the day, and I get a consistent 100 megabit, (which is good considering the age of the house and the 60 foot distance through older lines), between the modem/router upstairs to the other router in the basement. I was worried about the distance due to my last adapters having issues pushing all that dirty power out of the way and only getting 20 Mbit Max. They were lower powered cisco 400 series and about 3 years old. The best part is THE CISCO ADAPTERS WORK WITH THESE ADAPTERS! Similar tech and great for adding access points. Thumbs up DLink, I am very impressed!

Awesome Product

Does exactly what the description states. Great product to have and easy plug and play installation. Could not ask for any better than this.

  • from Welland, ON

Great product

Works right out of the box, no setup just a great product.

  • from Vancouver, BC

Does as advertised..

I chose this PowerLine starter kit as it was the theoretical fastest and the price was within my budget. I liked the clean, quality look of this D-Link device. And as long as it delivered faster than WFi (802.11n in my case), I'd be happy. It delivered. Setup was plug & play. It just worked. Of course, I'd prefer a direct 1Gb Ethernet cable to my router but this is the next best thing given the complexity of retrofitting ethernet cabling in a finished house.

Cannot create secure network

The connection is good. Speed is good. However, I could not create the secure network. Step 4 in the user guide did not go as described. When I pressed on the simple connect button, the Power LED did not blink. I spent a lot of time chatting with multiple people at D-link. Instead of solving this problem, they told me how to add a 3rd adapter.

Great Product and Good Price

It works perfect in my location. No setup problem, just plug and go and it brings the fastest speed and bandwidth that I could have provided by my ISP. Without any wire/cable inconvenience, it brings my ISP modem to the upper floor from the basement.

Better than Wifi

Wifi in my area is pretty dense due to all the routers in my area and I was getting tired of having disconnects and/or lower bandwidth due to interference from other routers. I decided to upgrade to D-Link Powerline AV2 and I have never had to deal with dropped connections or lower bandwidth performance issues. It has been the most stable home network upgrade I have ever done, now I use these powerline adapters at every device that can support a wired connection. The speeds and latency are amazing! It's like running a long ethernet cable from the router to the device! A MUST TRY for all fed-up WiFi users!

Great product

I have recently purchased two of these (4 adapters total) and so far they work amazingly well. Literally no setup at all, just plugged them in and they worked right away. Data transmission speeds are excellent.

Works Better Than I Expected

I have never used Powerline adapters before, but just moved and didn't want to star dragging wire through my new place, and WiFi doesn't suit my needs for a few media devices I have. Once these arrived, I plugged them into a wall outlet, connected Ethernet cables, and paired. These work so great that I'm surprised I didn't purchase them sooner.

  • from Cambridge, ON

This product delivers!

I recently upgraded my internet service so I could stream more media. What I found was there was little difference in wireless performance after the "upgrade" even though my download speeds in theory should have been twice as fast. My desktop, connected via ethernet ran at close to my providers advertised speeds. Bought a set of these babies and connected to my media center and WOW. Speeds were virtually the same as my desk top three floors up! Couldn't be any simpler to set up and the connection is fast and stable. 100% satisfied with this product.
