Big performance in a small package

To be fair I know something of networking so, for me, set up was very easy. Since then the unit has continued to operate flawlessly. Now I don't quite understand how they reckon a 400m range as the useful range of my unit is really under 50m but that did not surprise me. I also use the unit as an access point and switch, not a range extender so perhaps that has an impact. Regardless, for the price it is well worth it. 5 stars.

It's an excellent extender for this price

It was easy to install and overall performance quite good.

Works Very Well

I bought this device to address an issue I had with an IPCAM and it worked exactly as advertised. No issues whatsoever. The Extender has excellent range and so far has been very reliable. I give it 5 stars!

I purchased two of these wifi extenders last week and received them this Monday. In the user instruction it says Pulg-Press WPS button-Connect-Play. But actually one of them cost 1 hour to connect and drop the connection within 10 minutes. The other one is never connected. very disappointed set-up experience. I use the CISCO wifi router provided by Shaw Cable, it has no problem connect to my previous Linksys RE2000 Wifi extender. But this D-Link, sucks. Besides, when the extender is connected, It is not directly extending your existing wifi network, it creates to "extended" network named "(Your Wifi Name) - Ext" and (Your Wifi Name) - Ext-5G which is giving a hard time for all your devices to choose which one to connect. It shows dual-band, both 2.4GHz and 5GHz but as I said above, it is actually only extending one of my existing 5GHz wifi into two network and name them XXXXX-EXT & XXXXX-EXT-5GHz Good design, nice appearance , but just a piece of junk. Don't buy. I have returned both of them.

Keeps disconnecting.

I bought this wifi range extender based on what others say about it. I was able to install it without any problem but it keeps disconnecting from the router. It is supposed to stay solid green all the time but the next day or so it is flashing amber light again so I had to do everything all over again. It did it 5-6 times so I decided to return it. All my wifi signal was strong when it worked.

D-Link Wireless AC1200 Dual-Band Gigabit Range Extender (DAP-1650) - Refurbished

Very happy with this extender. It only took a few minutes to link it to my router and now my wifi dead spaces are gone from my 4 level split home.

D-Link Wireless Range Extender DAP-1650

I used this DAP-1650 to obtain a wired connection (Ethernet) to my desktop computer. My cable modem is in another room, so I used the DAP-1650 to establish a wireless connection to the modem. Pairing was quick and easy. With a 90 day warranty only (re-furbished unit), I can only hope that it will last! I was concerned about the RF radiation from the unit, so I used a 10 ft Ethernet cable to keep the DAP-1650 at a distance from my work station.

Bought a refirbished one and it works great!

I'm probably pushing the boundaries on how far you have an extender from a router (basement to 3rd floor) but it works great. It's lost connection a couple of times but when it's connected it works great!
