Top Notch Laptop of the Year

After months of searching finally, I found the best laptop around, and that is very tough job honestly, especially if budget and power are your main concern, cheap and quality. In my opinion, this is the best laptop I ever have seen in the market today, beating all of its competitors even with the new mac airbook. A budget-friendly laptop and yet very powerful processor with Core i7-7700HQ gives you more a breeze of power that you can't imagine that this machine is capable of.

Everything works fine, just be aware of the screen, do not flip on the side often.

It is a good gaming laptop for the price

Please disregard any reviews that says anything about the display being bad. The display is bad because it is a TN display, which does not provide good colors and viewing angles. Yes it is not as good as IPS, however, in order to cram that GTX1050 in there (which is 25% better than the GTX 960M) there had to be sacrifices. I just want to clear that up to everyone :)

Buy from Dell instead.

I bought this laptop from Best buy but it was missing things on the laptop like the backlit keyboard, more ram etc. I bought the same one from Dell and got the red backlit 128GB SSD 1TB HD and a good TN panel. I am not sure why people complain on the TN panel. It seems perfect to me without any color changes.

Great for price

I've been daily driving this laptop for a few months now and am impressed with the performance.. Replaced the tn panel with an ips one on day one for 70cad and added a nvme ssd... One of the best laptops you can buy in this price range!

Good components but bad screen!

I really like the Laptop, it got great components (might be good if you are using it as a Desktop) but the VN screen is just horrible! Furthermore it got a French / English keyboard and no backlit light. Unfortunately I have to return it...

Great budget gaming/workstation laptop

I was looking for a budget workstation/gaming laptop to to compliment my Macbook Pro(can't play game + low storage space). I came across this laptop and it caught my attention right away. The laptop has super powerful CPU/GPU which make most modern games run smoothly. The keyboard/trackpad/speakers are surprising really well built. It has a huge battery that lasts for about 5,6 hours. The biggest drawbacks of the laptop are: 1. Screen quality. To me it is bearable, I saw numerous negative comments regarding the screen so I actually went to BestBuy store to check out the screen in person. I'd recommend any potential buyers to do the same so you won't get caught by surprise. 2. No backlit keyboard, again to me it is totally fine, i'd rather have more powerful cpu/gpus than a nice looking keyboard, but most buyers probably assume this feature is there for the price that they are paying. 3. Slow hard drive, while the hard drive has plenty space, it is super slow. Recommending to add a ssd drive to the laptop, and you can find tons of youtube videos teaching you how to do this easily. 4.Make sure you go to Dell's webiste for the latest bios update after getting the laptop. Dell support/assitance software didn't detect this for me. If you don't update the bios, the laptop's fan would kick in full gears even though the latpop needs just a little bit of cooling, so it gets quite annoying, but fortunately the BIOS update saved the day. So overall, these three biggest drawbacks of the laptop are ok to me. I've been using the laptop for about a week now and I am really happy with the laptop performance so far.

Great Laptop for Gaming But I use it for School work & Programming

This Laptop has an amazing CPU and its RAM/SSD/HDD can be easily upgraded..I bought it to use it as a workstation and it easily handles all the tasks I had in mind for a workstation... Positives: (1) The CPU is fast, The fastest in this price bracket..Almost 90% of top of the line gaming/performance laptops use this CPU...The CPU speed is 2.8 GHZ and with turbo boost it goes up to 3.8GHZ ... It has 4 cores and 8 thread...with hyper threading technology...According to benchmarks it is faster than my desktop Intel i5-6500 which is amazing... (2) This laptop can be easily upgraded, Just flip it over...remove the screw ( there is only one screw) remove the cover and then you have access to all the parts inside the laptop...Amazing...just what I wanted...I am swapping the HDD with a Samsung SATA SSD..Installing an additional PCIe M.2 SSD and upgrading the RAM to 16 GB. (3) It can be easily cleaned with a blower...since the bottom cover can easily be removed and once removed, you can clean all the dust inside the laptop that's stuck on the main board and the fans.. (4) Dell's Support is the best out there. BIOS updates are very frequent and very resolving. Dell products support Linux Distributions very well...Which makes this laptop amazing for developers and programmers... (5) This laptop has two GPUs...An Intel GPU + an Nvidia GPU...When you are not gaming you can switch to Intel for power saving....easily switchable through Nvidia's control panel... Negatives: (1) A bit heavier than I thought it is...Almost 1 KG lighter than my old Asus laptop...but it is still a bit heavy...

Awesome laptop

This laptop is excellent. Not sure why everyone is bashing the screen on this thing, it looks pretty good to me. This laptop runs all my games pretty well. You're not going to max new games out and get 60 fps, but anything a little older you will have no problems. Laptop feels likes its very good quality, don't regret my decision at all.

good laptop

it is a powerful laptop but what disappointed me was it did not come with a backlit keyboard where i saw everywhere with it's review and on the website. but other than that, it is a solid gaming laptop.

Wifi Driver problem causing Computer to Malfunction and Crash (Netwtw04.sys)

I just purchased the last Laptop in stores to play Flight Simulator X on. After having the computer for a few days I went to turn my computer on and a blue screen came up and said Windows ran into a problem and had to restart. I thought it was kind of weird, thankfully I quickly took a picture of the screen that had the error code on it. I googled what the problem was on my cellphone because the computer wouldn't allow me back on the internet (keeper crashing windows). Turns out there is a problem with the Wifi driver on the laptop causing Windows to crash every time the internet was opened up. There is no fix for it despite doing hours of research into it. Problem is the drivers version (latest version installed from the manufacture on the computer) keeps interfering with Windows 10 causing it to crash. I was not allowing me to put a pervious version of the driver on the computer so was forced to return it to the store. Thankfully this all happen within the stores 14 day rental policy so I was able to take it back no problems. If anyones wondering though, rock solid gaming computer, runs flight simulator (which is a very CPU intensive game) with no problems and at a solid locked 30fps with REX and add-on aircraft/airports installed. The computer has a nice professional, sleek, gaming look. Doesn't have a backlit keyboard despite what the description says. For navigating the web or doing other such tasks as using Word or installing files on to the computer it defiantly lacks. It tends to be quite slow and "jerky" at times which should be happening to a computer worth [price]. If it wasn't for the driver problem and the slowness at times, I would give the computer a 4/5.

Horrible screen, no power

I bought this laptop thinking that the specs were way too good to pass up. Well I was wrong. The power supply is only 130w and is nowhere near enough to be able to provide consistent power for the 60+ fps others claim. Not only that, the fan kicks into overdrive just streaming Twitch or MLG and it super loud. I have noise cancelling headphones and was still able to hear the fan. This thing overheats fast too. The screen is horrible and mine even came with a line of dead pixels out of the box. Between the screen issues, loud fan, insufficient power supply... this unit got returned. For all those users out there in the market for a gaming/performance laptop... make sure you check the PSU and ensure it can handle the specs. If not, complete waste of your money and you'll regret not looking for another model.

Not as described

Thought it was a pretty good deal given the GTX 1050 Ti and i7-7700HQ processor - however the laptop is not as described here and does not have either an IPS screen or backlit keyboard. I can live without the backlit keyboard, however the screen is particularly terrible. This laptop also lacks outputs which I would have thought to be pretty standard (displayport or mini-displayport, etc.) I ended up returning this.

So far so good.

Good laptop for standard gaming. Can run skyrim and games of that era on high settings. No backlit keyboard. The screen is not the best but I don't notice to much when gaming. For the specs and the price I paid when it was on sale I couldn't go wrong.

Really good specs, terrible screen.

I bought this laptop knowing the screen was the only bad part of this laptop. The specs were way to good for me to pass up. I usually just plug the laptop into my HDMI monitor or a TV for a good way to play games with a better screen or bring it to a friends house to play games. If your looking for something that can be carried around to use as a portable desktop this is the right laptop for you since the specs are just incredible and can run any game at 60+ fps on high/ medium high . If the screen of the laptop is important to you I wouldn't recommend this laptop for you but otherwise, if specs are all you care (me) about for a cheaper price range/budget then I highly recommend this laptop as you can just hook it up to another screen with an HDMI cord. Not the best for VR, needs a higher end graphics card like 1060 or 1070. Can still run but not as smooth on CPU intensive VR games.
