Digiwave BMX HDTV Antenna

I got 0 channels in Chatham ON. That's not to say it's a poor product. Best you buy it and if it does not give you any channels, just return for refund.

Great antenna

This was very convenient as it can be hung on the window using suction cups. But with moisture in wintertime, cups cannot hold the antenna. So I had to paste it to the window with a tape. Reception is great. I can see 8 channels.

Good product

It's lightweight and great if you want it to be unnoticeable. I live in downtown Toronto across from the lake, facing south, no direct view of the CN Tower. I was able to get 8 to 12 channels with this antenna which I thought was great until I tested another antenna that was multidirectional and had a booster.... so I returned this one. It's hard to rate and provide a fair assessment of antennas because it's really based on where you live and whether or not you have a direct view to the CN Tower (at least that's what I've read on the internet).

Digital Antenna

I live in Toronto and attached this to a window facing west. I get about 15 channels and only one is spotty. Worth the investment for the limited TV I watch.

Get only two channels in Edmonton, AB - CBXT-DT (CBC) and OMNI (multicultural channel) but they are clear.

Fail!

We live in the middle of Winnipeg and this antenna couldn't pull in any channels. We are taking it back.

Amazing

This is the third antenna I have tried in my basement apartment and it blew away the others. The first one was homemade and I got two channels (barely). I tried an expensive indoor-outdoor one, still only got two channels and gave it away to a friend. I then ordered this one because I decided to cut my cable and when I hooked it up, my tv found 9 channels. All of them have between three to five bars (out of five) signal strength. I would have dropped my cable company sooner had I known this antenna was this good.

Excellent reception

Live in NW Calgary and receive 6 stations clearly.

Decent

Picks up about half of what tvfool.com states; however, the picture is stunning. I don't think there is value at regular price, but if you can snag it at 50% off, go for it.

Great antenna

I'm in a basement apartment about 10km from the cn tower. As long as the attena is attached to a window I get about 10 crystal clear channels.

  • from Brampton, ON

HDTV Channels

I was surprised by the quality of the channels. The HDTV channels look great. I am in North East Brampton and get around 4-6 channels, how clear they are and which channels seem to depend on time day and weather. Overall not bad for the price if you're just looking to catch some of the main ones like CTV, CBC, Global, City TVlike me. The signl from City TV tends to be the worst. Global, CTV and CBC are more consistent. I usually also catch TVO and OMNI.

Rural reception

I live in a rural area about 50km from closest station. I receive 2 channels - 1 is full digital HD and the other is something. The digital HD is crystal clear and the other one is acceptable.

Too small to pull in any channels at my location

This antennae is very small, flat and it really isn't big enough to really pull in any channels at my location. If you're located in a city or close to broadcast towers, it may work well enough but in my case, I had to give it one star simply because I couldn't get anything to come up. I think I will have to consider a much bigger antenna or go with a satellite dish or an IPTV set top box.

Satisfied

In Whitby,ON - 40-50km from the CN Tower in Toronto 10 Channels perfectly right away. Global, CTV, CBC, Etc plus 2 obscure U.S. channels. Gonna fiddle with position to see if I can get more. Pleasantly surprised. Great quality for cost.

Good simple design

Pro - small and light - long cable - can be mounted on the window Cons - personally I did not receive any channels - no amplifier, it could have helped in my situation Location: Yonge and Sheppard facing west on a low floor between other tall buildings.

  • from Oshawa, ON

Simple Antenna with Average Result

I tried this antenna in my 2nd storey bedroom window. We are in Oshawa and the window faces south west. I did not pull in any channels. I then tried it on a first floor dorm residence window that faces east at York University in north Toronto. It picked up 11 channels: TVO, Global, CBC, CFTO-CTV, CITY-TV, The Shopping Channel, a French CBC channel, and an OMNI foreign language channel. All these channels came in very clear and strong. It would be interesting to have tried it in a dorm room my son had a few years ago at York which was 8 storeys up and faced south to downtown and the lake to see if more channels would come in or if any American channels could be received.

Good Value

We are located east of Oshawa, The antenna is permanently installed at the peak of the garage (inside) and we regularly receive 8 good channels. For the price, you can't do better.

average

I live in Calgary, my house is facing west in the North East side, all I can receive from the antenna is 3 stations, I was hoping for a little bit more, but considering the size of the antenna, it is not so bad after all.

Digiwave Digital Antenna (ANT4500)

I tried it out in my home and was able to get about 6 channels, however I bought it to use in our RV. When I tried it at two separate locations, I did not receive ANY channels.

Few channels

The direction of my townhome did not produce any results. I think it would have worked well if I was not an inner townhome unit. As well I am pretty far from the CN Tower. Sold unit it to a colleague and he was able to get 15 channels (usa and cdn) and he lives in Mississauga...so ratings is a blend of us both

Digiwave BMX HDTTV Digital Antenna

We live in a mid-sized city about 160 km from Toronto. We were only able to get our local station but it is crystal clear. We're quite happy with the product.

  • from Toronto, ON

Good enough

Living in downtown Toronto, I pick up ~30 channels (4-5 are US channels, 3 repeated Globals, 1 CityTv, 2-3 French channels, others are random channels). Good quality pictures, but frequently the sound flickers. As you go later on during the night, the signal gets weaker. But for free TV, it's okay. I'm just happy that I get Globals and CityTV for free.

Great antenna for city locations!

This product is great if you live around a city. It works great for me as I am able to pick up all the key channels that I want. From reading other reviews, buyers need to understand that it won't work in many rural areas. There are web sites that can be used to see what you can pick up using your address or postal code. It's important to use that to see if it's even worth it, even though the price is great. Excellent product! Was able to mount it on wall behind a poster. Very thin design and easy to conceal.

Happy

I received this product by the time I was supposed to do so. Easy installation. I got 17 channels but you need to change the location of antenna to find a right spot. Apart from stick in the back of antenna which does not work at all for install it somewhere the rest was really fine andI I am happy

Very good, got max. 14 channels

Yonge & 19th Ave. Plugged it and got 7 channels (6HD & 1SD), then I used my tv's "scan channels" function, then I got 11 channels. After that I figured out if I removed all the other cables, only this digital antenna attached, scanned again, now I got 14 channels (2 channels are not stable). HDMI cable will affect the signal as well. Totally works for me. I am going to cancel my cable service.

Very short range

Can't receive CTV Ottawa in Gatineau, yet I am only 8 km from the station. Not worth even the cheapest price, this antenna has no range. I think I need an amplifying antenna.

  • from London, ON

Great Price

I cancelled my cable and thought that this would be a good alternative to get some channels to watch local programming, however, I could only get 4 channels. I thought I would get more but since it was only (the price), I wasn't too upset!!

Great product

live in Etobicoke, Ontario - picked up 26 channels - crystal clear HD. All the major stations - CBC, CBS, NBC, CTV, Global, City, more. The unit is so small and easy to install. Wow.

Did Not Work For Us

We are situated in a very rural area about 80 miles from the nearest large centre, I suppose because of the distance we were not able to receive any channels using the antenna. It may work perfectly well in an urban setting but that is not the case with us

Not bad for free

I get 6 channels, incuding one French. Works for me at the price!

  • from Terrebonne, Qc

Fantastic!

I get 7 channels with this, all HD quality. Located in Terrebonne, Qc. I recommended this product to all of my family. One thing to note though, the location of the antenna makes a big difference (probably the case for most antennas), for example in a window vs far from a window, outside obstructions, etc.

AWESOME!!!!

I can't believe this little antenna works so well. I live in Windsor, On. and I got 28 HD channels. Flipping great for so cheap. Well worth it.

Great Value, Easy to Set Up & Use

I got this for my old spare TV for working out from the basement. From this location, it can pick up three channels. When I Compare back to back versus a RCA black plastic square that is amplified. It picked up about 8 channels versus the RCA's 13. The location is from beside Lake Ontario in Oakville.

Great idea for in the City

This Antenna would work very well in the city, but not in the country. We had to return it since we couldn't get any channels.

  • from Carlsbad Springs, Ontario

excellent performance

I live in the country and have an older model TV made in 2005. I never had cable and never had plans on getting it because of the outrageous monthly service charges and bundled packaging. I first installed this antenna on my TV and nothing worked but with a little bit of research, it was determined that I needed a digital converter because my TV was older and not digital ready. After installing the converter and the Digiwave BMX antenna, I ran an auto search for all available channels in my area. Now I enjoy 12 channels. 10 of which are crystal clear and 2 of which are HD. All free. So long cable and satellite. If I want to watch popular shows I'll buy the seasons on DVDs and play them on my Blue Ray.

Easy Installation, works great

At first, didn't expect much on it. Yet the installation's quite easy, just plug in co-axle cable tip into the TV, the cable's quite long enough (about 8m). I bought two of them, and installed one on my living room TV which can't use any windows to attach it. The antenna's just sitting behind of the TV against wall, which works just fine. getting the same numbers of channels with the one in the bed room that attached to a window. Picture qualities are awesome. considering the size of the antenna and not necessary to attached onto windows, I'm quite satisfied with the antenna.

  • from Montréal, QC

Cheap for a reason

This antenna does not work just outside the city (25km). Only picked up 1 station, and the signal kept dropping. I guess you get what you pay for. Maybe you can get better results when you're closer to the station antenna. Got a much better antenna from RCA [...], and now I get 28 channels. [...]

Able to receive in laval TQ, V, TVA, RC, CBC, Global, ici, city, and a bunch of others. Very worth the price, will get another one for my tv upstairs.
