Slip on the sleek, customizable activity tracker and you'll be on your way to healthy living in no time. By tracking all-day activity such as steps, distance, calories burned, and active minutes, Alta keeps you motivated and paints an accurate picture of your fitness progress. The bright OLED tap display keeps your goals in focus with stats, time, and smartphone notifications on display. On-screen messages remind you to move throughout the day so you stay on track toward better health.

What you need to know:

  • Track all your activity, accurately: Alta tracks and displays all-day activity like steps taken, stairs climbed, distance travelled, active minutes, and calories burned so you can easily monitor your fitness progress.
  • Training upgraded: No matter what your favourite fitness activity is, SmartTrack helps you train smarter. It automatically recognizes continuous movement, identifies the type of activity, and records it in the Fitbit app, delivering a comprehensive exercise summary. For precise tracking during workouts, activate Exercise Mode for real-time stats on the display.
  • Keep moving: You'll be off your butt and moving in no time thanks to Alta's on-screen reminders. These messages encourage you to move throughout the day and reach mini goals of 250 steps per hour.
  • See your stats, bright and clear: The OLED tap display is easy to read and gives you instant access to stats, time, and smartphone notifications. Customize your Fitbit Alta by choosing from a horizontal or vertical layout, and picking from a variety of clock faces.
  • Sleep soundly, wake peacefully: Monitor your sleep patterns and set a silent, vibrating alarm to gently wake you.
  • Stay connected, hands-free: Keep your phone out of sight and your goals in focus. The Fitbit Alta syncs with your smartphone so you can see incoming call, text, and calendar notifications right on your wrist.
  • Wear it your way: The comfortable band is designed for 24/7 wear. If you want to change up your Alta's look, consider personalizing it with interchangeable metal, leather, or classic bands (sold separately).
  • A trusty companion: Alta resists sweat and splashes of water so you don't have to hold back on training when the weather is less than ideal. The rechargeable battery lasts up to 5 days on a single charge and recharges in approximately 2 to 3 hours.
  • Connect and sync wirelessly: Sync all your stats automatically via Bluetooth 4.0 to your compatible smartphone, tablet, or computer.
  • See your progress, share your progress: With the Fitbit Dashboard app, you can record your workouts, log food, see your progress, set weight goals, and share or compete with friends and family. The app is compatible with iOS, Android, and Windows devices.
  • Stay motivated: Fitbit wants to keep you motivated and see you succeed. That's why you'll be awarded achievement badges every time you reach a new goal or milestone.
  • Sync with other fitness apps: With the Alta, you won't need to sacrifice your other fitness apps. Fitbit lets you sync your stats with popular health and fitness apps like FitStar, Strava, Sparkpeople, LoseIt!, MyFitnessPal, MapMyFitness, Runkeeper, and Endomondo.
  • Multi-tracker support: Pair multiple fitness trackers to one account and Fitbit will automatically detect when you switch between them. So go ahead, show off your Fitbit Alta during the day and hit the gym with your Fitbit Surge (sold separately) without ever missing a step.

Very bad product

Fitbit Alta doesn't count steps properly, it shows 40% less then actual count. Goole it - it's a very common problem, I will stay away from this product, tooooo bad I cannot return it since I got it via award points :(

I ordered a new strap for my alta. 3 weeks ago I'm still waiting for my my replacement??

I love my alta, My children gave it to me for Mothers Day 2016 I wore it every day and enjoyed keeping track of my steps. Also I am 88 years and my Doctor thought it was a great gift for Seniors.

Great but touch screen a little weird

Bought this for my mom for christmas. She loves to track how far she has walked and the number of steps gets her all excited throughout the day. It also shows her her recent text messages. I wish the touch screen was a little more user friendly. Not like the smartphone touch screens. Great buy and I would buy it again. Highly recommended!

Do Not Recommend

I Bought the watch in April of 2016. Initially I had absolutely no problems. Although as time passed, the cheap rubberized strap that holds the watch around your wrist began to stretch, as well as the clips that connects the band to the unit, began to not click in properly. As of November 2016 I found I was nervous about it falling off, and thought of buying a replacement strap, but realized there was no point because the clip on the unit was so, non functional. Then in December 2016, the watch fell off my wrist while skiing. For the above reasons, is why I highly do not recommend this watch, or any other models, because they most likely all have the same rubberized material for there strap.

Great product

I love my new Fit Bit Alta. It was easy to set up even without the help of my kid which I often have to reply on. I love counting my steps and being able to see how well (or not) I slept.

Good tracker overall

This is my first tracker and overall I believe it is doing a good job. It was easy to set up and charged quickly. The batter lasted about 5 days, which seems like a good amount of time. The only con I have noticed until now is the touch capability. Sometimes I have to tap it multiple times before anything comes up; this can get quite annoying at times.

Be careful not to loose your bracelet...

I love the bracelet but It is very hard to put on and It has come off my wrist 3 times so far since I purchased it 2 weeks ago. It does not have the heart monitor which is a bit disappointing. The bracelet is very sleek and does not weight very much. I like the fact that my text can be read on the bracelet! Waiting to buy the sterling bracelet which I hope will not unclasp as easily as the one I have.

Works better than expected

It is very light and unobtrusive. Identified my cycling around the city as exercise and tracked the time spent, in addition to my steps. I was told I would need a much more expensive Fitbit to do that. The only peeve I have is that it is a bit tricky to put on but I am getting better at that.

Don't believe all the hype

As much fun as it is to have a party on your wrist when you make 10,000 steps in a day, the accuracy is no where near as reliable as it should be. My Alta kept losing the number of calories each time I synced it with my much for knowing how many calories burned in a day to go along with not knowing how many steps were taken. Trying to put this on by yourself is nearly impossible.....every day it was a two person operation. So, needless to say, I am not pleased at all with my new Alta and will be returning it on Monday.

Great fitness tracker

I love the smart, sleek design of the Fitbit Alta. It is great how the device automatically tracks your sleep quality and time. I also love the fact that the Alta can recognize certain exercises you do. The Fit bit app is relative to the other fitness apps around. Overall it's a great tracker, however I find the tap function is a little spotty, sometimes I need to tap multiple times before the device wakes up.

First Fitbit

I am very happy with my fitbit. It has encouraged me to move around with my desk job. I love the sleek practical look that it gives and doubles like a watch. There are a lot of cool features in this product. The strap is comfortable and I hope to purchase a different strap for it in the coming months.

Thanks but no thanks

I am small boned with small wrists and found this style of tracker to be clunky looking and too heavy on my wrist. I also had a lot of difficulty trying to secure the band on my wrist. Beware if you have any arthritis in your fingers as it makes it pretty much impossible to do it up yourself. I took mine back and switched to a flex. Much more visually appealing and I am happy with what it tracks.

New Fitbit Alta

I love the new Fitbit Alta and have not had any technical issues with it - it's great! The only issue I've had and it's a small one is the closure on the band it's a little tricky but I'm not too worried about it as I've pre-ordered the stainless steel bangle so that should fix my problem. Great product - I'm very happy with it.

Fitbit Alta

Love it ,but find it sometimes hard to get the time to show when having to tap twice sometimes need to tap more and does not always show time when bending wrist as well also wish it had a heart monitor!

Slow to respond

I preordered mine online at bestbuy. When I got it, it was really slow to respond, sometimes it wouldn't turn on even though it was fully charged. I had to tap it hard a few times. I thought it was broken or defected, so I called fitbit to trouble shoot it. We tried to get it to work again, but it wasn't responding right away. So they sent me a brand new one FREE of charge. Exact same model and colour in it original packaging the next day! They told me I can just "recycle" the old one, since I'm in Canada, they don't take back RMA for repairs. Of course I'm not going to throw it out. Eventually, the next day it seemed to be working fine, at least better when I first got it. So I still have a new one in it's original packaging. I'll just keep it until this one dies. Overall, it's easy to use and looks stylish. I wish it had a heart monitor, that would be much more helpful. And if it was waterproof! The app is easy to use, except I have no time to log my meals. The straps are very easy to change out if I wanted to buy additional ones, except leather straps are so expensive! Pretty happy with it so far, but I need some time to log more info about my meals and exercises.

Love It!

Really help me see reality of what I do everyday! Loved the sleep track feature too.

Slim and attractive

I have had my Fitbit Alta for a few days now and am very pleased with it. I like that it is small, as I did not want something chunky. I wish it had the heartbeat monitor as I feel this a useful feature. I find I sometimes have to tap it many times for the display to come up, which is somewhat frustrating. The display doesn't always come up when I move my arm. These are the reasons I gave it a 4 star rating instead of a 5. Overall I would recommend this product.

Fitbit Alta

I have had this for a couple of weeks. I like the look and fit of it and do find it motivating; however I have found the touch screen is not very sensitive to touch and takes getting used to. It is often not responsive to taps and I end up tapping it a few times before the time is viewable. This is frustrating when you are trying to check the time discretely. Also shifting your wrist to view the time is not reliable working only a percentage of the time. It is nice to have the read out. I also like the prompts to increase steps. The alarm feature is also very nice. It syncs easily with my apps and it is nice to have access to the summaries.

Looks good, very easy to set up and I wore mine for seven days and the battery was still doing well. Found all the functions very good and easy to read. My cardiologist had asked me to get one to track my sleeping as it isn't good. The two nights that I actually did sleep it had me up 3x one night and 33 restlessness and the other up 4X and 23 restlessness. Was never up either night at all. The nights that i was up it had me sleeping peacefully for up to 11hrs. so i returned it. spoke to my Dr. today and he said maybe it was something wrong with the sleep part and that maybe I should try another one.Loved everything else about it just it wasn't doing what I had really got it for...

Attractive, easy to use

I've had it for a couple of days and am already hooked on wearing it all the time. I work in a professional environment; prior to this, I carried a pedometer in my pocket because I found all other trackers ugly and not entirely practical. On initial appearance, this looks more like a watch. The interface is clean and it was relatively easy to set-up. I have a blackberry so the lack of app support there is annoying; I don't get to take full advantage of the functionality and have to log in through my computer. I found the touch sensitivity to be a bit annoying to get used to - when I move my wrist up, it doesn't always respond. Sometimes I have to tap a bunch of times to get it to work (hence four stars and not five). I was also annoyed that the initial settings turned my steps into distance after 1k; I like knowing the exact number to motivate me. I wish it had a heart monitor, I think I would like it even more with that. I'm on day three of my charge, I check the time constantly and use it to track my sleep. The battery is still going strong. I've gotten a ton of compliments on it; it is an attractive piece. I also looked at the Blaze; I was originally more interested in that but I have a slight frame and found it cheap/ugly looking. My hub also liked the look of this - it is sleek and really unisex. I'm probably going to buy a selection of bands as they are super easy to change out and I like how stylish it all looks. Overall, I'm happy.
