Not a good laptop. Don't buy it.

I bought this Laptop 2 months ago. The laptop is very slow and now the wifi is not working. I would not recommend this to anyone at all.

Looks like a Toy Computer, Acts like a Toy Computer

Avoid this laptop at all costs. Bought this laptop because of its nice blue colour, and small size and thought it would be a perfect laptop for a college student like myself, despite the fact that it did have small storage space. As soon as the laptop was set up,problems immediately started coming in. Extremely slow, unable to play youtube videos and the entire computer would freeze after 30 minutes of playing a show on netflix. Could not even download any other apps since there was insufficient space. Returned after a week of purchase.

Laptop review

It is a good laptop but I must admit it is a bit slow.

My Laptop is fantastic

I am really enjoying my Laptop. It is fast and run smoothly. I thank Hewlett Packard (HP) for the beautiful work it took them to design this computer.

Severely limited

Daughter-in-law bought this and asked me to set it up. Terribly slow CPU, Next-to-useless 32 GB flash memory in place of a real hard drive. It's basically like a Windows tablet with a keyboard attached, most suitable for kids or simple web surfing. She ended up returning it and getting a refurbished Lenovo from Best Buy for only a few bucks more.

This unit won't start and i've only had it one week.It should last longer than that!

Hard drive too small

Has some bugs, but you cannot do Windows updates due to the hard drive being too small. I even uninstalled the Microsoft Office completely to gain some drive space, but this did not help much. Avoid.

It looks so beautiful but .......

It looks so beautiful but the quality is horrible because the keyboard makes a big mistake; Word"Z” and “Y” is exchanged!!! I have to go to bestbuy store to exchange a good one soon!

Hard drive too small

You can not install any program or even to add another user account with 36gb hard drive. It is way slower than should be.

Do not buy.

Bought this in Jan of 2017, needed a cheap laptop for scanning and emailing some work documents each week. I barely have anything in my storage, (about 500mb of pictures) and only have Chrome and Adobe installed in terms of programs, and yet somehow of my 32gig hard drive, I only have between 500mb and 1.1 gigs of free space. Cannot be upgraded because everything is welded to the motherboard. DO NOT BUY.

Garbage

At first glance this looks like a decent deal and a good alternative to chromebooks, since there are many software limitations to Chromebooks for now. Pros: runs windows 10 and MS office. Cons: lack of storage/HDD VERY problematic. I have absolutely zero personal files on the computer, and absolutely NO additional software besides the included Win10 and MS Office. I deleted everything (such as the anti-virus trial). Still, there is never enough room just to do the Win updates. Very very frustrating because the computer will go on an endless loop of trying to find, download, and install updates just to hours later say that it wasn't able to complete the update. Meanwhile the computer slows to a crawl because it's constantly trying to update. I bought this literally for the sake of watching netflix and maybe type up simple stuff using MS word since I sold my Chromebook, and I thought I was upgrading. Big mistake. I wish I had my chromebook back. Netflix was smoother on chromebook and I could have typed up my stuff using the free google docs.

Great for the money - after the initial updates!

I bought this laptop for the purpose of updating my blog on the go - and it's perfect for that. Long battery life, nice keyboard, super cute design. At first I was worried because all the websites were lagging super hardcore, until I realized the laptop was updating in the background. Once I let that finish, smooth sailing! No issues. Sure, it's only got 32g of space (which is 15g free space, since the OS takes up half), but I have a TB external, so I really don't care. It's a great little laptop.

Very limited - I don't reccomend

This could have been a nice machine, but the 32gig sd drive, cannot be upgraded to a larger drive. That leaves very little space for software after windows is installed. After a week I gave it away to a student, and bought a better laptop

Good cheap laptop

I got this HP today. I am in my 40’s and not into gaming etc. Just needed something lightweight and cheap to surf the net and type when I am away from home and office. I had read that others have commented that it is slow and not that good, but mine is superb, I really love it! It is built very simple and sturdy and not slow at all. I am typing this with the 1 year MS Office that is free with it and Youtube is on in the background and it is as fast as my desktop. The keyboard also has a very good feel to it. When I opened it the battery was already fully charged and I have used it for about 3 hours and it is at 80%. At first the light blue color was a bit strange to me, but now I even like the color! I have never written reviews before, but I just wanted others not to get affected by the other poor reviews. As long as you just want to surf the net and do some MS Office work, I highly recommend this laptop.

Love machine; hate built-in's

Will be perfectly adequate for personal and small business use. Speed not a huge issue but memory? All of the pre-installed programs leave almost nothing for music, pictures, doc's, etc. It was an extremely time-consuming challenge to search for various ways to uninstall them, and there are many that will simply not go away - Cortana, anyone?!? I'll be going back to my vendor to have them wipe everything and then re-install what I need... not what HP, Windows & MS think I do. 2 tips for new users: perhaps start from scratch (Settings, Update&Security, Recovery) and install McAfee (or other) first, and if you lose your desktop and icons, ensure you are in desktop mode (Settings, System, tablet mode).

Warning: Do Not Purchase

Purchased this item and there are lags to the point it does not work. Can't even open Task Manager to shut it down. Battery life is very low. Sound does not work. The only good thing is the size of the screen. But the whole thing is made of plastic. Cheap plastic.

Cant say enough how pleased I am with this machine. Lightweight, affordable, great for everyday use. I've had many comments "it looks like a toy computer" which in fact it does. If you want a professional looking laptop this is not for you.

NOT WORTH THE MONEY

I bought this in October to take with me to Mexico as all I needed was an internet connection for surfing....I knew I was not buying a powerhouse, but this has to be the WORST piece of garbage I have bought. Pros: - It boots up quickly - Nice Display - Very slim compact design - Well placed keyboard Cons: - slow like Molasses - takes over a minute for games to load - loaded with adware garbage - once you install Microsoft Office which is included the solid state drive is full and you keep getting cleanup errors. - Internet pages can take almost a minute to load....even Facebook which is normally 1-3 seconds. - always running out of memory - very old technology inside, probably 6-7 years old....they should not be selling this junk anymore. - cannot reset the PC to factory because not enough space for temp files. But it looks amazing and travels well because of the small form factor....but bottom line....no sense to buy it if you can't use it. You really get what you pay for.....AVOID THIS AND SPEND A FEW MORE DOLLARS ON SOMETHING WAY BETTER AND MORE CURRENT.

Bought it for school. Says it has 32 GB to use, system files took 27 GB, and left me with 2 GB for personal stuff, which is NOTHING! Suck!

expensive for what it delivers

I got this laptop delivered just three days ago, the computer has a nice sleek look with long battery life. However, it is very slow, especially when handling websites like Facebook or even Best Buy website. The camera is horrible, completely grainy! I think is too expensive for what it offers!

Good machine, eventually

Came with two versions of Windows installed, so it had no free space for even basic programs. Run the disk cleanup tool to remove the old. The less powerful processor causes any auto update - Windows, anti-virus, browsers - to take up all of the processing power, so it's hard to do anything until you let those finish. Consider changing the power options to 'always on' and schedule updates overnight so they won't interfere. After that though, it's good for standard web browsing, using Office (comes with a 365 subscription), Youtube etc.

A Good Netbook Alternative - Not a Laptop

This should be seen as an alternative to a 10 or 11 inch netbook and not as an alternative to a fully functional laptop. The 14 inch screen is easier to see and the keyboard is larger with not much more weight than its 10 inch cousins. It has a proper power source, not a phone transformer, which makes it more robust. There are three USB ports, where netbooks have one, and a full size SD card slot, not a micro SD that is easy to lose. The downside is the small main drive (32 Gb) that gets filled up with Windows itself. It does have a decent amount of RAM and the processor is good enough for things that are not games. It comes with a lot of stuff on the little drive that isn't needed, including a subscription version of Office 365. I deleted everything but the OS and bought a 32 Gb SD card for the slot and put all things that I could onto it. This is more functional than a Chromebook and a passable machine for occasional use. If you are a Dropbox user, you can wind up with the main drive occupied with stuff mirrored from Dropbox, that also can kill your space.

You get what you pay for

I've had this laptop for only a month. For the most part, it's been fine, however from day one I've noticed when watching Netflix, the sound suddenly garbles, the images slow and then the laptop completely freezes. There's nothing I can do but shut it down manually. I didn't purchase the warranty so I guess I'm stuck with it. Slightly kicking myself for not sticking with Acer as a brand.

Just what I wanted

This is exactly what I was after when looking for a new laptop. Small, light, and easy to bring everywhere with me (school/work/library). My plan was always to save everything to drive, and use it for Microsoft and Netflix. Nothing more. So it has been perfect. Anything more strenuous should be done with something more powerful. But this is a lovely little laptop that does just what I need.

Decent laptop for basic computing, horrible webcam and mic

Its a decent laptop for the price if you want to use it for MS Office and light browsing. Boot up speed is good and for most basic tasks you dont feel like you are using a cheap laptop Biggest letdown is Camera, video quality on a skype call reminded me of old connectix webcams from 90s. Look elsewhere if you are thinking of buying this for video conferencing like skype, otherwise an OK laptop .

BLUE! but blows.

so very disappointed at the abilities of this model but the colour is so fantastic i'm having a really hard time switching it. Literally only because of the colour...and the fact i get attached to things to easily but It's windows 95 slow about 80% of the time. Patience isn't one of my virtues,

Not enough Hard Drive to update Windows!

I purchased one of these laptops for my wife last Christmas. The 32 GB Hard drive is not even big enough to get Windows updates and it is a hard wired hard drive, and therefore not even upgradeable. Total waste of money!!!

WORST LAPTOP I HAVE EVER BOUGHT

I Bought this laptop thinking that even though it was on sale and inexpensive it would need by basic needs as it was an HP and some quality had to be there but alas no! It is beyond slow or simply just doe not respond to whatever you click on. Stay away as I am returning mine shortly....

Mixed feelings

I bought this laptop in November at full price out of impulse. I had so much assignments, projects, quizzes, homework and etc.. and my current laptop was giving me problems I was worried that one day it might not turn on and I would be screwed. I have mixed feelings about this product... It is very reasonably priced (full price or sale) for a student. It's very light (I can carry it to school), battery life is perfect and it comes with 1 year of Microsoft subscription (which is what I needed for my assignments). It is very slow for videos and gaming (I don't game but I've had to watch a few videos on this and it's always pausing and "thinking". I know my wifi is fine cause I can watch the same videos on my Ipad or Ipod). Overall, I believe you pay for what you get and as long as this laptop can last me until school is done, I am happy with my purchase.

Kinda Glitchy...not gonna lie

Pros I love the colour of the compute that's for damn sure, one thing I noticed though was the colour it shows online is different in RL and I'm wondering if its the laptop default colour display or the best buy site it self. The keyboards are pretty good (nothing miraculous) Choice to zoom all ninja from the touch pad for better reading = great Cons the computer its self feels really odd, which is actually quite distracting the keyboard is a little too long I find for my small girl hands which can make it awkward/uncomfortable to type. lame The lagging during the office programs was a pretty big bummer too, maybe the worst so far but I've only had it about 3hrs now so we'll have to wait and see

nope

bought for uni. downloaded chrome, microsoft office, and dropbox and the space was all used up. sometimes chrome takes a while to open up, the microphone is crappy, and there's no micropohone jack. it's light and a nice colour, but unless you're using an external hard drive at all times, not worth it.

2 days running - out of free space after running the first windows update

I pleased with the appearance of the laptop, but after the first windows update I've got no free space massage. I have only skype installed. This means in 1-2 years my windows will be outdated and I will be not able to install / upgrade or user cloud aps. Another issue: The plastic is not very scratch resistant. I see scratches on the bottom of the laptop already after 2 days even I do care of it appearance. Returning it back :-( I like the way it looks though ....

Would have loved if....

I would have loved this laptop if it had more memory, after one update the hard drive was full, and expanding the internal memory is not easy to do, sorry to say I ended up returning it. Good points, it's cute,, nice color, great operating system with the Intel Celeron, just no memory, :-(

Solid, Cheap performance.

I have purchased many units of this laptop for commercial use. It is very affordable. Does not have a hard drive but rather a 32gb solid state drive which means less storage but it is faster and more reliable. Overall prefer the simplicy of this to others in the price range.

Decent laptop for a student looking to use it for minimal work

Not bad , runs well looks great has an nice keyboard However screen quality is 780p and sometimes is slow in download and has little memory so but A external drive. If you use this for Microsoft office then it's perfect or running basic material. Recommend buying it for just school!
