So far so good

Just did the setup now. It was painless for a HP, not the usual bloatware from days gone by. A very nice surprise. I got this computer on sale, good thing too as my wife's computer died and couldn't wait.

Does the Job for Me

I have held back from writing a review as a previous reviewer had issues after 40 days. \I have had this desktop now for about 2 months and it is working fine for me. I am not crazy about the Windows 10 system but that has n othing to do with the machine and probably has a lot to do with my lack of experience with it. I bought this desktop because mine was just outdated and had issue with the Flight Sim and Train Sim games that I like to use. As it turns out, neither of these sims work very well with Windows 10 and I had to buy the sims on Steam. In any case, it is quite a lot faster and the graphics are just great. I have no complaints.

Power efficient

Everything works just as it should. Would have liked a few more USB ports and another Ethernet port. I like the relatively low power consumption (18 Watt) because I am off grid (solar).

Geek Squad problems

I cannot tell you whether we like the computer or not because my husband was unable to connect it. When he called the Geek Squad at the Orillia store where we purchased 3 years of Geek Squad protection with the computer, he received no help whatsoever! So now we have to wait for our son-in-law to come so we can get this thing hooked up. I'm not sure why we paid the extra...

The worst desktop I had

Purchased one, 40 days later, it crashed. Switched one at Best Buy, 40 days later, it crashed again. Garbage!

So Far Hardware is good!

As with most things Windows.... software Windows 10 is not the best OS for me. I hate that they force their software on us and you can not remove most of the components so get used to working with them or ignore...which can be difficult...BUT the hardware RAM and ROM seems excellent so far!

Not a Gaming PC

The computer is fine. It isn't as fast as I would have thought, with a quad core at 3.8ghz and 16gb ram. But not bad overall. My only complaint is if you want to do some gaming it won't. the onboard gaming memory is only 512 mb, and if you want to install a dedicated card for gaming, the power supply is too small. It is only 180 watts. So it would need upgrading of the power supply as well.

A great computer for the price. Like a cheap car, gets you from A to B.

I snagged this little guy during a sale, and for the price paid I'd have to say that this is a really nice machine. It has a current generation i5 6400T Skylake processor, 12 GB of RAM, an M.2 port, a nice sleek design, and a very small footprint. What this computer doesn't have is the room for any expansion aside from simply upgrading components in place. There are no spare SATA ports so when I added an SSD it was in place of the DVD player. The player is still installed so as to preserve the look, but it's not connected to anything. There is room for a graphics card, but it won't be a gaming card. This computer was not made for that so from there not being enough room inside to not enough power this computer will still be happy as a casual gaming machine for games of yesteryear or Sudoku. Minimal HP bloatware, with the typical anti-virus trial program. Just wipe it and reinstall the Windows 10 Home from the Settings page under Update & security and you'll have a clean activated version of Windows 10. This PC does have six USB ports with two USB 3.0 support, front and back headphone jacks, and HDMI as well as VGA out, so you can connect it to a TV if you'd like. Then you can compute in 1080p. I don't have a 4K TV so I don't know how well it works, but there is support for 4K so you can even make this a multimedia device and hook it up to your new 4K television. Overall, I have reflected upon this purchase after the fact, and quite often agreed with myself that I would buy this machine again if I had the choice. Comes with a USB optical mouse and USB keyboard, and a power cord in the box and for the average casual user this is a great buy.

Good value

Purchased on sale after Cyber Monday. No issues after 1.5 months. Performance has been as expected - very fast for everyday tasks (web, youtube, microsoft office), games work fine on 'medium' type settings but cannot be pushed further. Played GTA 5 with no frame rate issues, even though set to 2GB of video card usage/quality despite the computer having 1GB (integrated). 180W power supply prevents upgrading to a dedicated video card... and there's no need to - the cost of a gaming power supply (500W+), processor (AMD FX) and dedicated video card (radeon rx 480+ / nvidia 1060+) equals the price difference between this computer and a gaming computer. 2x USB 3.0's are in the back, which is not convenient for access, but I purchased a USB 3.0 extension wire (inexpensive) that remains plugged in and sits on my desk.

AMD who ?

Bought the first one and it lasted less than 2 days before crashing, returned it and the 2nd one lasted 22 days and rolled over. Brought it back and switched to the i-5 intel version and seems to work very well. Best Buy handled these issues and took broken machines back with no troubles. I would not recommend the amd 12 and will personally stick to hp-intel combo.

Good Value

I have had this computer for only 1-1/2 weeks and have to say for the price a very good computer. The only thing is I though it would be faster. Being there is a built in graphic card. I would still recommend this item

Less than expected

I expected more oomph from this box; this was disappointing. On top of that, as a consequence of being disappointed, I now feel that I paid too much.

Great Deal

So far I love it except for the Windows 10. (I find it confusing) I have always like HP products. It works very well and have had no problems with it. I also bought the 27" monitor and just absolutely Love it. The size is bigger than I thought it would be but that's OK. The deal for both of these was well worth the money.

Originally ordered online, think it took 3 weeks to receive, not off to a good start. Then it worked for 2 days, had to send it out to have the motherboard repaired on warranty, that took another week to get the empty box, and then about 5 weeks before I got it back, being told it had been shipped out back to me almost 2 weeks before they actually repaired it. No apology on all the false info given to me about the repair. Now October the computer is again useless. really regretting buying an HP this time around. When it does work it is extremely fast, everything feels instant. Do find it a bit noisy.

Great desktop for the price

This machine has all you could need.quick and easy setup. Good sound, great graphics, more hard drive than I will ever use.got rid of preinstalled McAphee as it blocked everything....and was only a trial copy. Also didn't use the keyboard that came with it as I had my new wireless ready to go. Installed in seconds, no fuss. Copied my saved work files from external drive quickly and efficiently. All my stuff didn't add up to 5% of this ginormous hard drive...2 TB! Installed free virus cleaner and use windows security and firewall. Haven't tried the Bluetooth yet, and don't need wifi as I'm on a LAN. Good unit. Good price. Runs silently, I mean totally silent. So far so good. And AMD 12 is a quad core chip; Intel is just a name to me. AMD has been doing good stuff for years, and is undervalued.
