I bought the Daydream without out knowing that it is optimized to be used with the Pixel XL: I have the non XL Pixel and it looks like crap, as if I am watching pixelated 240p videos! Additionally, it constantly goes out of focus, the controller requires re-centering every few minutes, there is light bleed, headphones don't work with it, and the strap design is terrible. Shame on Google for releasing Daydream without an "Optimized For Pixel XL" statement on its packaging and in their marketing... Shame on both the Point of Sales staff at Rogers where I bought the Pixel and Best Buy where I bought the Headset for not having product knowledge. Not impressed!

It's like a Ferrari...

But with no gas. Theres so much potential, its so ready to go and its so capable; that much is clear. But there are absolutely no worthwhile apps out there. There are a couple free games, but you finish them within 20 mins and they have no replay value and every other game costs an absurd amount for what they are. If Google can actually start to put content out there, and lots of it, it would hands down be the comfiest, most capable VR headset out there that isnt a way over priced $1100 Oculus or Vive.

Not bad

I bought this for my Moto Z. It's comfortable and the controller works good. Only downside is there isn't much content out there, also Bestbuy didn't have any in stock so I had to order one and get it delivered.

Needs work

I've used the Google VR Daydream headset and the Gear VR. In my opinion, the Gear VR is far superior. The Daydream does not fit properly on the head and lets light in at the bottom of the headset. You need to make sure the headband is really tight and sitting higher on your head to ensure it stays tighter on your head. The good news is that the Daydream headset is light and does not steam up the way the Gear VR does. Another huge problem is that the compatible phones (Pixel and Moto Z) over heat within 10 or 15 minutes -- they are burning hot. I own a Moto Z Force and can't play for more than 15 minutes at a time. I can feel the heat on my eyes / face and I don't want to damage my phone. I don't think there will be a software fix for this problem. VR is very intensive -- phone manufacturers will need to build the proper cooling into the phones (the S7 Edge has a heat pipe to protect it from overheating). Given the choice, I'd go for a Samsung / Gear VR. This is a good choice for short sessions, but you could cause damage to your phone if you use it for an extended period of time.

Works great

Great cost effective entry into the VR world (you obviously need a compatible phone). Solid build and controller works well
