DO NOT BUY this piece of crap

This thing doesn't last long! I just had it for a week and now it doesn't work! Serial number 15C04 S/N: ZDWEP2000254. I would recommend NOT to buy this crap. Such a waste of money. i could have got a nicer one.

Works great plugged into my router

I'm using this to share two separate (one A/C-powered HDD, one SSD that's USB-powered) drives that are connected to the USB hub and then the USB hub is plugged into my router. The router's only got USB 2.0, but the HUB is allowing both drives to be visible.

Short cables make it useless

As the title says the cables (power & USB) which came with this unit make it practically unusable. It is only useable if you have a laptop sitting on a table right beside a power source. I'm going to try it anyway and if it does not transfer data well then back to the store. How stupid to save pennies by providing such short cables.

Worthless garbage!

Malfunctioned the very day I took it home! In addition, the store management refused to issue a refund because the package had been opened. Head office have also refused to help A complaint has now been filed with Consumer Protection BC

Worthless garbage!

This is the worst computer accessory I have ever bought. Fails multiple times a day, and requires a full reboot to reactivate. In addition, because the package was opened (how else am I supposed to use it?!?!) they refused to accept a return or exchange.

Very flaky!

Keeps connecting and dropping. Windows 10 device manager constantly dropping and reconnecting device. Getting "does not recognize" errors.

Problems with hard drive and scanner

Bought this a while back to connect more devices to my Macbook Air. I hooked up a WD My Passport drive to it, and it dropped the connection, corrupting the drive and forcing me to recover the files on the drive. Grrr. I have a Fujitsu ScanSnap scanner that won't work through the hub either, although I know I've had hubs in the past that did work with it no problem. I should know better than to cheap out on a hub. Oh well...

Garbage. Total waste of money.

Much like everybody else is saying, bought this thing and let it sit around for a month before I got a chance to use it. When I unpackaged it and "plug and played" it, nothing happened. Nadda. Zilch. Computer doesn't recognize it at all. I might as well be plugging it into my ear. Now I"m out the money I spent. Probably would have got more satisfaction flushing money down the toilet rather than paying for something that just doesn't work.

Terrible

I just bought this hub because I have only 1 UBS 3.0 ports on my laptop, but I wanted to connect my 2 external hard drives at the same time with my headset and Wacom tablet. -Hard drives almost died (weird noise due to lack of power) -Wireless adapter: worked but only 1/3 of the speed -wacom tablet was flickering I always refrained from buying insignia products (kind of like no name) but this purchase just strengthened this belief. Never again. Going now to get a refund as I finished writing this.

Bad product

had a hard time even getting this thing to read the 3 hard drives I attempted to connect. It has to be powered so it takes away from its usefulness. Now once I attempted to transfer between drives I could only get 22 MPS which is very very slow. It doesn't let you use your single 3.0 as a true hub. Stay away. Transfered as quick going from my 2.0 port to my 3.0 port as from one port on the hub to another, with all the inconvenience of a power cord.

Works for me!

I've had one of these for over a year and I've never had a problem with it. It's got 4 external usb 3 drives hooked up to it with lots of large file transfers and it's worked great.

I had two, and neither one works.

Yep. Exactly what the title says, I got one and bought one for someone else over Christmas. First one wouldn't connect at all Power light goes on but no usb ports work, the second one had a single usb port that would not work. This isn't priced like a cheap product, but it performs like one.
