Here's what you need to know

I bought 4 projectors like this, this week. I compared them. I thought this one wouldn't be special but it is. First off, some poor reviews on here are because it doesnt work with samsung and other phones. This isn't the projector's fault. These phone manufacturers decided not to include usb to hdmi capabilities. This isn't new technology so shame on them. Primarily I tested this against the axaa pico HD cube. Which is also small but seems large compared to this. This projector is ridiculously small. Maybe the smallest projector anyone makes. The axxa is 2.3 inches cubed. This one is 1.7 inches cubed. It doesn't sound like a big difference but it is. It's kind of like the difference in size between an orange and a clementine. This projector has the lowest resolution out of all the ones I tested but quiet honestly it didn't matter because of these reasons. 1) The color on this one is very good. The color on the others I tested were all over saturated. It's almost shocking how bad the others I tested were and how good this one is. 2) The throw (size of screen over distance projected) was the best. Placing this projector right on top of the axaa showed that it provided a much larger screen. It also throws upward a bit, which helps prevent the need to tilt the projector up, which would cause keystone issues. 3) It was brighter, slightly. But since these pico projectors aren't very bright to begin with every bit counts. For the record I expected these picos to be useless unless pitch black in the room, but they are better than I expected. The axaa might be 720p and this is only 340 but when blown up to 100 inches the difference loses its value. For what these sort of projectors are meant for I think practicality of the size, throw and good color, out weighs a higher resolution with poor color accuracy. The insignia came with a good selection of accessories which I didn't expect. So that's a nice bonus. This would be great to travel with, and great to set up in the back yard for night time movies. You would want a good speaker of course for that. Personally I found setting it up in my bedroom on a sick day and having a gigantic screen on my wall to be nice. This was one of the moments which really impressed me. It was a dark room, the picture was large, vibrant and I was too far away from the wall to care about the resolution. If I could list any cons it would be: - I wish the cables plugged into the back instead of both sides - I wish it had a built in tripod mount, but it includes an adapter which is quite travel friendly. - I wish it took SD cards and had stand alone play capabilities. - I wish it had an audio out jack. - I wish it had keystone adjustment, but none of these in this price range do.

Great can't say I'm using it right

So I bought this cause it looked cool, and it is the picture is great for a portable when watching YouTube, and being portable I'm able to take it anywhere like my personal range. I use to to post targets on blank piece cardboard.

Wow I was really impressed

I bought this projector to do a review on my youtube channel, and I wasn't expecting much as I have seen cheap projectors before, but I was very impressed. I am currently using it in my bedroom to display my cable box on the ceiling. At the distance I am projecting it is giving me about a 50" screen and is very watchable. In a dark room it looks really good, and is wife approved as it doesn't throw as much light in the room as the TV does, so I can watch it in bed without waking her.

Basic portable projector

Wasn't expecting much from this product. It is compact and easily fits in a pocket. The set up was also a breeze. I connected it with my iPhone to watch a movie and the sound coming off the unit was barely audible. This device is meant for PowerPoint and keynote presentations, slides and photos. Not meant to be used as an entertainment device. Besides there is no Bluetooth capabilities otherwise some speakers would have been a nice complement

Awesome Little Projector!

I purchased one of these little gems during the holidays and I have not regretted it. The tiny projector does an admirable job projecting images up to the 80 inches indicated in the specifications. It comes with multiple adapters to link to a multitude of devices and the built in speaker and battery can come in handy when showing a movie in the outdoors. The only "con" to this projector is that there is no audio out, so unless you can stream the sound to a Bluetooth device, you are left with the built in, tinny speakers. Still for a projector that is just over an inch cubed, an excellent device.

Insignia Portable Pico Projector Review

This projector is really good for the price. It's not super super bright for larger images (+80in), and it does look best for TV Shows and Movies at 80in or smaller, but I find that for animated shows and movies, this projector is fantastic at an even larger size. I watch my anime collection on it and I have the screen set to 120in (and it DOES come into focus at 120in), and I use a Samsung soundbar w/ subwoofer for the sound. With this combo, it's like watching everything at the movie theater! Since the resolution isn't the best, I have the couch at approximately 14ft from the screen. I highly recommend this projector for small to medium sized rooms with low to no light. I am satisfied with this purchase and I would recommend it to a friend.

Awesome little projector!

I bought this little projector a few days ago and I am very impressed with its quality. The projected image is excellent and reaches the indicated 80 inches in size. The only con, and a minor one, the built in speakers are tinny and you should provide an external source for sound (ex. Bluetooth).

Useless due to incompatibilty

What they don't tell you is that the adapter included doesn't work with Samsung or LG phones. Oh, and there is no Iphone adapter included. So be prepared to buy more stuff to make it useful. Its Its like building a car that runs on cola. Few cars run on cola, in case you don't know.

Phenomenal little projector

I just bought this projector today and I can't believe how much potential is in this tiny device. Measuring slightly more than an inch cubed, the projector comes with all sorts of cables to connect to almost any device that permits video output. I have tested it with MHL (Android smartphone) and direct HDMI (Windows tablet), and both worked perfectly. The picture is crystal clear and even at less than 2 feet, projects about a 2 foot display. Even at a greater distances the display remains clear, and according to the instructions, can reach a size of 80 inches. The only con to this projector (I am not surprised) is the tiny, tinny speaker. I strongly suggest you pair the video playback device (tablet, smartphone, etc) with a Bluetooth speaker, as suggested in the projector's instructions. You will not be disappointed with this projector!

Not compatible

This would have been a really great device had it been compatible with our products. It states that it is compatible with Samsung devices but does not state that Samsung stopped being MHL compatible after the Galaxy S5. It would be better if they would list versions of devices or years of devices that are compatible. I returned this item for a refund.

Nice Projector

I bought this product and I'm very pleased with it. The screen is wide and clear and bright.. And the focus is so easy to turn. The color of the images is good and natural but it would be better if it has color adjustment for those who want more or less color. But I'm still very satisfied with it.
