Battery terrible

Sound and clarity are decent. Fit is good. Battery is pathetic. 4 hours best case

The earbuds constantly fall of in my ear

I love everything about these head phones, except the tapered design causes the earbuds after a couple weeks to stretch and then slip off deep in my ear or they fall and roll away. Do not buy these.

sounds like AM radio

I got taken back to the days of being a child in a 1986 Cadillac Deville. Listening to oldies radio station station that my dad would always play. "Strawberry Fields forever...." (ughhhhhhh). Absolutely zero bass. I read the reviews and i knew people were warning about this. But i said hey, there are alot of critical people in this world. NOPE. They were right. Couldnt wear them for long enough to get outta the house with them in. Hopefully, at the very least I can give them away if not get my money back from the store.

Do not work outdoor!!

Headphone keeps cutting out when running outdoor, when indoor the headphones do not cut out. Appears to be normal based on Jaybirds FAQ this is not acceptable. There is defiantly a flaw in the design of these headphone. I owned two other set of Bluetooth headphone prior to these jaybird and they never cut out outdoors. The cutting out makes these headphones unusable outdoor. It's just to bad as the sounds that these headphones output is awesome.

Right Ear Bud Pooped Out!

They were working fine for 4 months and then the right ear bud stopped working.

Never Buy Jaybird Headphones

Just search the internet for Jaybird power problems. It happens to all their models. Mine constantly will not turn-on, and is somewhat sporatic. Nothing like showing up for your run and your headphones won't work.

Cannot connect to Sony Walkman

Major disappointment comes from connectivity issue with Sony walkman (non-Android OS). Jaybird connects to my phone. The sound is OK for the price. It is relatively comfortable once you get the right ear-fin and earbud. Is it worth the full retail? Probably not. On sale, it's not a bad option

Not recommend headphones, not recommend BestBuy

Purchased those on multiple recommendations. The headphones designed really well, sounds amazing. However it seems like they designed to work indoors only. Once outside start loosing Bluetooth connection. Impossible to use while running. After first 3 minutes try had to return to the store. And there was a surprise! BEWARE! BestBuy won't accept headphones back once the package is open. This is ridiculous and Stone Age policy - you can't try them in the store, and if in some reason they don't suit you BestBuy keeps your money. Think twice before buy at BestBuy.

Sound stage is trash, cracking at high volume, Bluetooth interference, and the fit requires smashing the headphones into your ears.

  • from Vancouver

Poor battery life

If you'd like to make the jump from a wired to wireless earphones you need to consider the issue of battery life. The Jaybirds have a pretty mediocre battery life i.e. It does not even last a week for 1.5 hr commute per day. It was also because of battery life that I decided not to take this on a long haul flight because I knew it wouldn't last. Essentially, don't be saying bye to you wired headphones, this will not completely replace them.

Useless Outdoor

I should have checked the forums before buying these. Lots of documented issues of sound cutting out, skipping, etc when using these outside. My personal experience is that they are essentially useless for any outside activity. On my maiden bike ride with these the sound would cut out every 10-15 seconds for about .5-2 second duration. My mobile phone was in my cycling pocket located on my back within 2 feet of the headset and the signal loss was horrible. If I held the jaybird wiring so it was within "line of sight" it appeared to be better but that doesn't exactly make a comfortable workout. Went back to wired.

bought out by company

Jaybirds used to be good, but a company that i will not name bought them out and now of course there terrible headphones.

Amazing headphones.... but don't lose the charger

These headphones are absolutely Amazing! I've had them for almost 6 months now and they're my favourite to work out in. I've tested many headphones and I've always had the problem with them falling out of my ear during an intense work out. The great thing is that they have different sizes for the ear inserts so they'll have your perfect fit! The only reason why I'm rating this 3/5...... is because you're basically screwed if you lose the charging clip. Nowhere else has just the charger so you need to go on their website and wait 2-3 weeks for it to come in. While waiting, your headphones are basically a dud. Headphones would have been perfect if only they made the charger a universal port instead of their custom one.

Great fitting earphones

Love the wireless over plug in head phones, great for the gym or just walking around. Headphones have good range with BT up too 30ft away from my phone still works. Battery says 8 hours but I only get around 5 listening at mid volume. The app is nice to adjust the pitches but a lot of them will make the headphones crackle, I currently use the bass setting it seems to be best so far. Bass isn't as deep as my beats but quality is really nice. Charges pretty quick as well.

I find the reception spotty when moving and frequently breaks up. Fine when not moving. Sound is good. Battery life is ok. I had the X2 and think they had better battery life and stayed connected. I also don't like the charging system and liked the micro USB that the X2 had. With the decreased battery life a more convenient charging method like the USB would be better.

  • from Toronto, ON

Bought these from Best Buy just over 3 months ago. The advertised battery life is 8 hours, however, out of the box it is realistically more along the lines of 6 hours. Advertised battery life is exaggerated. The battery life started drastically decreasing after the first month and in the last few weeks only lasted about 2 hours at which point it needed to be charged. I use these approximately 6 times a week for around 1 hour each time while I work out doing weights or cardio. I noticed a couple of times in the last 2 weeks when I was working out I tapped the control unit when trying to switch to next track and the unit powered off in the middle of a workout. For the price I paid in my opinion these are way overpriced for the quality. You may be better off to buy cheap disposable wireless headphones and throw them out every time to avoid the support process. I opened a support case through Jaybird which you can only do via their webpage and now the waiting game begins. Will probably be out a pair of headphones for at least a month now while the warranty process begins. These were great for the first 2 months the sound quality was very good, the app for android was great, they fit really well and stayed on and in my ear for the duration of my workouts and the noise isolation was very good. It's a shame this happened and I am hoping Jaybird honors their product and replaces it quickly as I may have just received a lemon.

VIdeos not in sync

There's a noticeable lip sync delay watching videos. This didn't happen with my X2's. Very disappointed.

x3 is worst Jaybird ...

Instead of Jaybird getting better... It's gone to crap. My old bluebuds (x1) still work! My x2 lasted 16months.. Before DEAD. Constant audio drops from the x3. Sound quality isn't better than x1. Also their silly APP doesn't make anything better....

Great sound and comfort, poor battery

I bought these a few months ago. At first, they lasted the 8 hours as promised, which was great. But now that it's been about 3 months, I'm lucky to get 5 hours out of them. I was very careful to not charge them early, or charge them in anything other than a pc usb port. I don't blame jaybird - I just don't think the battery technology is there yet (a small, lightweight battery that lasts very long). I don't want to deal with the hassle of exchanging them under warranty and being without headphones, so I'll just keep them until they die completely. Battery life aside, they have really great sound quality and the app is awesome. They sounded a bit tinny at first, but after a week or two were broken in.

Do not buy Jaybird

My dad's work gave him a new set of these "jaybird" earbuds and we just opened them to find that none of the buttons work and the earbuds them selves won't charge. the battery pack works but instead of the so called "8 hours" of battery life we only get 2 if that. The worst part is that we don't have a "proof of payment" to see if they are still covered. It's great that I got them but if it were my money being spent i would go back and not get them. I looked around to see if anyone else had this problem and several people did, so i don't recommend buying them.

Good headphones but has connection issues

So firstly, connected to my Android Phone with no problem. Turned them on & paired. Easy. The sound quality is good and with the app you can save different sound preferences for different genres of music. Good fit on the ears and the volume is sufficient. Note: You will NOT be able to pair this device with Apple products as of right now... despite what you read. I have tried two different iPhones and an iPad with no luck. Jaybird will tell you it's an Apple issue with their updated software (which may be true) but offer no work around and don't mention that on their website. So if your a pure iOS user, don't buy these headphones. I've also had trouble connecting to laptops using Windows 10. I managed to get one to work, but the other, no luck. There's lots of messing around, trying to find drivers and USB adapters etc. unpairing, re-pairing and so on. The bluetooth can be sketchy at times. If you have the phone if your pocket or stand in certain spots it can cut in and out. Not a huge problem but it's there. Battery life DOES NOT last 8 hours. I like the headphones sound and fit, but if there's other options that offer better customer support, for around the same price and have easier connectivity, then go with that option. Connectivity is the killer for me.

Defective battery after 4 months of use

I purchased the X3's after having done extensive research research online. The main pupose for my purchase is biking and indoor rowing with some casual Netflix viewing. Pros: Great sound Great app to customize the sound to the type of activity that you will engage, you can also save and use different profiles Comfortable in ear with different attachements which are provided Customer support Cons: The one I purchased gave up on me last week, although it is under warranty and will be receiving a new one through customer support this has made me nervous as to the overall quality and/or durability of the product considering the price that I paid.

Just burn your money instead

These things don't stay connected to your phone very well. They work fine indoors but outside...not so much. They have a habit of just turning off for NO reason which can leave your phone blasting music on a crowded bus. Worse thought is the fact the ear pieces have nothing to hold on to, so they will get stuck in your ear when taking these off, or fall and you will lose them. They are also NOT sweat proof, using these to run...they died because they got a bit of sweat on them. Sure they sound good...but..not worth it...save your money

  • from Nanaimo

Terrible design

If not for the fit of the earbuds these headphones would get 4/5 if not 5/5. Having said that I cannot stress how much I hated wearing these. The earbuds just would not stay in my ears. I tried the different sizes for the earbud tips both rubber and foam and it didn't matter, medium were the best but I was constantly pushing them back into my ears. I think if not for the batteries being on the earbuds themselves these would probably stay in better. I used these while at work which has me walking a lot and I can not see these being used when exercising. For the price I expected a much better fitting product, very disappointed. I ended up returning them and getting the Philips MetalixPro and love them, the earbuds stay put in my ears, battery lasts my full workday and I barely notice the neckband.

sound quality not great

The sound isnt very good for the price of the headphones kinda disapointing

love them, really comfortable

I use these earbuds at work everyday battery last 5 to 6 hrs depending on how loud u play music love that the stay in my ear, even as I'm laying brick or cutting there are very comfortable once u find the right site up sound quality is great I have owned there for about 4 month and I'm pretty hard on my stuff and they are still working great and as long as I don't lose them I figure they should last year's.

Connectivity is crap

Bought a set.... exchanged due to connectivity going in and out. Second set....same issue. Sounds great except for cutting in and out all the time with phone a foot away

3 Months old. Will not power up

Loved them when they worked. Died a couple of days ago. Green light on charge but will not power up. Tried all the reset approaches; e.g. 8 clicks and 5 sec hold the power button. No luck. Look at their website, issue is pervasive.

  • from London, ON

Decent product but overall, disappointed

The headphones are solid, well made, and well packaged. There are 3 foam inserts and 3 silicone inserts but I couldn't get a comfortable fit. The headphones were somewhat painful to wear and wouldn't always seal. Ended up returning them.

  • from Montreal, QC

Lest than 3 months later, the battery is almost dead, have to return them

The battery is far from what the feature advertises (ie: 8hours). During the first few weeks the battery would last at best, 6-7h max. But quickly it started to show signs of diminishing charging capacity. Now, close to 3 months after I bought them, the battery is done(almost). I can charge them all night, and the red light will still be on in the morning. When I take them it says "fully charge" but obviously it is not because 30 minutes later I hear "battery 20%" and then 10-15min later, I hear "please charge, power off" and the battery is dead. Also, if I charge them, the decharge even when turned off. Conclusion, even though the fit and sound is really great, the poor battery quality makes them worthless.

X3 Silicon pieces fall off

Excellent sound, easy to use BUT the silicon ear tip pieces keep falling off. Looking at the design they simply slide on and off. I think this is a poor design but a great way to get you to keep buying replacement pieces.

  • from Coquitlam

Good so far but losing accessories

Great quality. It has been difficult to get the correct earbuds to fit and stay on with the wings. The smaller sized ear bud come off easily and I've lost (and found) them several times. Sometimes when I take it off the earbig gets stuck in my ear. Lost wings twice already. Need to make these items stay on better.... And a reason for the large assortment of then in the package.

Best headphones

Jaybird x 3 is of of the best of the best . Amazing sound with customized sounds available on the app free of charage. The quality over all is 10 out of 10 . I returned my bose after listening to jaybird x 3 . Long lasting battery . Well worth the money

Poor Customer Support from Best Buy

Earbuds are every bit as good as advertised. Charge last about 8 hours. Unfortunately the charging clip is very small. Shame on me I lost it. Bestbuy's helpful customer support all but told me "sorry about my luck", "we do not sell any accessories and we cannot / will not assist in contacting to manufacturer. Went to Jaybird's Official site and the product is there for sale, but out of stock in either colour. Product was great for 8 hours. Not sure who I am more ticked at, the manufacturer for being out of stock or Best Buy for not supporting what they sell.

  • from Hamilton, ON

I must say, the sound quality is really really awesome. This is my first wireless earbud. I have a Bose Over-Ear Wireless Headphone. This one has better sound quality then Bose OE Wireless Headphone even though I am a huge fan of Bose. I am happy with the purchase. Good thing I got the 2-years Protection Plan with this. I am happy!

  • from Vaughan, ON

Stop questioning AND PURCHASE

These headphones are one of the best investments I have made to date. I have always struggled with keeping ear-buds in my ear while working out, these buds stay VERY firm in place. If you doing exercises that involve the front of your body, you swing the cable to your back - and visa versa if your exercises involve your back. These ear buds are a clear front runner in comparison to others. Stop researching because these are the BEST!

  • from Vancouver, BC

annoying to wear

the audio is good but any time you touch the buttons it fells from your ear. stuck with your cloth and pull from your ears. I think the cable is too short. It hurts after few hours and won't last 8 hours listening to podcasts. button line, wrong design for something that can't be returned.

  • from Cold Lake, AB

I love these!

These in ear headphones are extremely comfortable, low profile and the sound quality is amazing. I also have a pair of Bose Pulse sport earbuds and the Jaybird's fit move comfortably and has a sound quality equal to the Bose.

  • from Toronto, ON

Incredible sound & fit

PROS: Incredible sound & exceptional fit. Awesome mobile app. CONS: Terrible charging cable/clip design!

  • from Sidney, BC

Sound good, but lots of connectivity issues and support was no help.

The sound quality is great and maybe if you only connect to one device, and you have no problems connecting with that device, then they will be ok. I move between several devices and I'm constantly having problems connecting. My laptop recognizes the Jaybirds but the Jaybirds sometimes refuse to recognize the laptop sitting right in front of it. On my desktop, there are many times when audio cuts out. I've contacted support and they basically ran me through obvious simple fixes and the blew me off, saying it was an issue with the device, even though I have issues on multiple devices. Too much money for something this unreliable.

  • from Toronto, ON

I have X2s which I like. I didn't need these, but wanted to try them out. They sound better than the X2s and I was happy with those. The iPhone app is great for adjusting the sound. If you are using these with an iPhone, Siri actually sounds like Siri with these, on the older version the Siri sounds were not quite right almost mono as opposed to stereo. These seem to fit better as well. The X2s were good. These are great. Glad I got them.

Best earbuds

This is the best pair of earbuds i have ever used

Great bluetooth earbuds. Best ones ive used so far!

  • from Calgary, AB

I'm losing connections after 6 weeks use

The X3s were great initially but at about the 6-7th week of use, I'm constantly dropping connection. With my iPhone6 - if I turn my head away it cuts out. I have to keep the control outside my ear as opposed to behind to keep a better connection. Even if its in my pocket at the gym it cuts out. If its on the ground, it totally loses connectivity. I would say I have connectivity about 50% of the time, and this is always within a few feet on my device. I've noticed in the last few days it does the same with my MacBook if I go around a corner in the room. Worst part is Bestbuy hasn't received new ones in stock for a while so I can't get a replacement. May have to send to the US for warranty.

  • from Calgary

Great Bluetooth headphones

Have been using these JayBird X3's since November 2016, used for running, walking my dog and general everyday use, they work really good, sound quality is incredible nice clear highs, mids and lows to my ears but everyone's hearing is different, but to have a app to customize the sound of the headphones for your taste and music is one of the best features of these headphones. Battery life averaging over 8 hours depends how loud and amount of bass in music. Lots of choice of ear bud adapters like sizes and plastic/rubber or foam. Only time is have experienced a hiccup in the bluetooth signal is when the controller is tight against my head and wearing a toque and my phone in my lower pant pocket, but if I dangle the controller off my head behind my ears I haven't had any problems with Bluetooth signal no matter where my phone is on me. Highly recommend them especially if they go onsale.

  • from Vancouver, BC

5 star

Good quality sound. Long battery life. Stable and fast connection. I don't like the way the charging works but I just have the charging adopter attached all the time so it is not bad.

  • from Toronto, ON

A very satisfying purchase and above my expectations

So far I am very satisfied with the purchase (definitely wait for sales), these are well-designed for sports. A bit trial and error to get the right fit, but once it's done, it is quite comfortable and secure. I wear it well over an hour running and my ears would not feel fatigue nor would them fall out. Really light weight and the cord shortening accessories really helps with getting them out of the way. Battery lasts around six hours on highest volume after a full charge. And bluetooth connection is very smooth. Sound isolation is really well-done, and I would say that to use them while running on the road, the volume should set lower to hear a bit of the traffic. Overall great sounding headphones and able to find a nice sound profile using the app (the default a bit too overkill in high range).

  • from Edmonton, AB

Good in the gym

Once i figured out the right size of tips and wings to use these were solid. I've only used them in the gym for a week and a bit but so far they are great. So nice to not have wires to worry about. The app is solid and lets you set the EQ to your listening preference, more bass less bass etc. I highly recommend these as a workout headphone

  • from Montreal
