Failed after 2 years

Worked great when it worked. I didn't use it too much, maybe a couple times a month. After 2 years, no computer recognizes it anymore.

poorly designed

I used it very little and one day it just died. Now I will never buy Lexar and only proven usb 2.0 drives that are slow but can last.

Do not buy. It failed after using it about 20 times

Garbage

Do not waste your money as anything you save will be wasted by frigging with the stick when it stops working and it will stop working.

REALLY NO WARRANTY

Best Buy advertises this product as "Warranty: 5 Years". But when mine failed (as it now seems many do) and I contacted Best Buy they said they don't offer warranties at all. It's between me and Lexar. That's not what their web page says, but anyway when I contacted Lexar they said the warranty was actually 3 years, but mine was within that. HOWEVER, replacement is a complicated process which ultimately requires you to ship the defective piece of electronics to California. Subtract the cost of cross-border shipping with declarations for electronics (you pay the return shipping) says you'd net ten cents an hour for your time making a warranty claim.

Failed and Lost 10,000 family pictures... DO NOT BUY

Bought this when it went on sale, and I should've known better (I bought 2). Transmitted all my pictures from my computer onto this stick, and now BOTH of the sticks don't work!!

Be Aware!

Big mistake! I invested heavily in the Lexar the JDS75-128 jump drives (6) and since 4 have failed. Initially they performed well however over time problems occurred. Primarily they were not recognized by different devices. They had to be inserted multiple times before they were recognized and would respond. In the end they failed completely resulting in the loss data. I would not recommend the Lexar drive. I have not encountered this problem with other similar drives e.g., Kingston, Scan Disk, Verbatim etc.

2nd unit, both failed

Like the other reviewers have said, stay away. After the first failed and became unrecognizable on the first data transfer, I had it replaced in store. The replacement was used twice before it too became unrecognizable on all devices.

Problems Being Read on Multiple Devices

This is the worst jumpdrive I've ever used. Doesn't get recognized on a ton of devices. If it does, it only does so for about 1 minute before disconnecting. Absolute garbage. I bought 3 of these from BestBuy too. What a waste of money.

DO NOT BUY

DO NOT BUY if your INFORMATION, your MONEY and your time are valuable. I wish I could give them no star at all. These have same problem for many buyers. They won't work after a few usages even if you reformat. Lexar is on my blacklist even if it's free.

Garbage - Don't buy

It failed the first time I used it. Re-formatting also failed. Lexar support refused to replace without original receipt -- awful customer support.

Worst Flash Drive I ever had

Stopped working after one month and now wouldnt even detect. Looks like it get heated up while moving larger files. Waste of money and replacement not worth the effort.

  • from Kamloops, BC

Failed on large data transfer

Like the other reviewers I think this drive has a heat problem, if you're moving a large amount of data, which is of course the intent with a 128gb drive, it will fail. Mine failed while moving 45 gig of data.

Do not buy this

I had two of these, they both stopped working after I used them 3-4 times. It costs more to ship them for replacement than it does to buy a new one, so really the entire product is just a useless money grab.

Waste of Money...and time...and data

Worked for about 10 uses, crashed during data transfer and never worked again!!!!! Avoid!!!!! Lexar doesn't even care!!!!

Stopped working

I bought two of these on sale. Worked great until the first one just lost everything and I had to reformat it and lost all my files (luckily it was just a backup). After reformatting it still won't work. The other one started having errors whenever trying to copy files. What a waste of money! Wish I could give it no stars. Sounds like everyone else on here has had the same issues!

Frequently sudendly disconnect itself without warning - risking corrupting files.

Got this early in spring (2017) to put reading material for work and music. Got a bunch of nifty useful tools in portable format. It started disconnecting quite often, about 2 months ago (aug 2017). At first, I suspected my USB port on my home pc but soon realized it does the same on my laptop and the pc at work. Definitely not reliable. Too bad, I liked it a lot at first. I will check if I still can use its warranty but don't count much on it. DEFINITELY AVOID.

What part of your data do you want to lose?

I bought 3 of these drives on 3 separate occasions and returned all 3 for the same reason. Each time I backed up my files to it and it looked as if it was working great. i ejected the drive using the proper method. The next time that I re-inserted the flashdrive into my computer it said that I had to format it. I tried to format it but it failed. All of my files were lost. Took it back to Best Buy and finally got a hold of a manager about returning and exchanging and trying the 3 drives and asked him for a refund. He said that I should have asked for a refund after the first one but i told him I asked to speak to a manager about a refund at that time but he was no where to be found. The salespeople at that time suggested that I might have a bad one and that I should try another new one. so I did...2 more times and each time I asked to speak to the manager but still no manager to be found except on the last try. He reluctantly gave me the refund. I will never buy Lexar again and if I by any more flashdrives I will certainly not buy them from Best Buy in Ottawa.

The Rating should be a 0, not 1 star.

Firstly, I got this USB on a flash sale at Best Buy. I also told two of my colleagues about this deal which meant that all three of us bought this USB - the Lexar 128G usb. My colleague was the first to encounter the prooblem whereby once he started transferring files over (whether it is 100MB or 1GB in file size), the USB failed mid-transfer. After which the usb is unrecognized. I tried to plug the USB into my laptop without any success. Subsequent attempts on other computers failed to yield a better result. I figured it was a one-off, since I haven't encountered the problem yet. One week later, I decided to transfer a large file to the USB for safe-keeping. Keep in mind this USB has literally been in my possession for a little more than one week. It stopped transferring midway, and none of the computers can recognize the USB anymore. This was frustrating, since I didn't anticipate the USB to fail, and I opted to "move" my folders to the USB (I've since learned my lesson). I contacted Lexar about this problem, to which they had NO solutions for. All they could recommend was third party software to salvage any files I might need, or pay at my own expense to retrieve the important information. I told them that my colleague had the same problem, and that this is very disappointing for a large company. Well, they came back to say that we were SUPPOSED to format the USB as soon as we receive it. WHERE DOES IT SAY TO DO THIS?????? Nowhere. They made this up to cover their own ass. In the end, since it was witihn warranty, I returned it and got a REFURBISHED usb (God knows that this probably had the same problem). Needless to say, I DO NOT recommend this product, OR any other lexar product. This company is just outrageous, and shouldn't be trusted. Not only is it both our USBs, but three weeks later, my third colleagues USB also failed. Lexar has no care for their customers. I sincerely hope that if you do purchase their products, expect failure, and make sure you don't put important files into them, or try to transfer large files (for fear of it corrupting your USB).

Failed after 3 months

I bought one of these, it failed after 3 months, I contacted Lexar as it was under warranty. I had to pay to ship it to them with a copy of my bill from when I bought it. They did sent a replacement however, a month later I got a bill from Fed-Ex for the duty and handling charge a month later! Wow! I was not expecting that! Not only did I loose 10,000 songs I had on there, but now it cost me more to have them send me a replacement under warranty... I can definitely say I will not buy anymore Lexar products!

Be Aware!

Be aware these jump drives fail. First time I called Lexar & was given recovery software. I recovered 309 files however they were labeled like file 1, file 2 etc., Great! I had to go rename all the files. The second drive crashed yesterday; bugger!

Fast but didn't last

I'm glad I got mine on sale Fast, lots of storage space, so I bought a second. The first one lasted about 10 months and then failed. Computers won't recognize it any more. I'm using the second now but am paranoid about backing it up in case it fails early as well. I've had lots of flash drives, this is the first I've ever had die on me.

Garbage

Owned this product for 2 months and have had nothing but issues. Writing files to it is a hit and miss. Lexar's return policy is users need to ship them the product to the US (at a cost to the user) and they'll send you a replacement. This product was definitely not worth it. 1st and last Lexar product i'll ever own.

Lexar jump drive

I have had this for over a year but did not start using it right away. I did have to reformat it therefore make sure that you save your files in two different places. I have to say that the speed is very good which is nice.

Nice too bad they are defective

Well my second one, just died... Got this on special. Wow great deal, USB 3.0 fast and lots of room. First one dead in a week. Replacement dead in 4 weeks. OK its plastic (so what) , I like the solid feel of the slider with a good solid lock open/close. A few minor points, formated with fat32, which is just stupid on this huge drive. It has a place for a lanyard, but doesn't come with anything that can be used to attach it. Overall if it was not defective I would give it 4 stars. Maybe best buy will give me a third and it will work? But so far 2 for 2 defective. Only buy if the device is not storing critical data, and you don't mind going back to BB every few weeks.

JumpDriving me over the edge.

Used twice. Second time... BAM! Unreadable. I had stored a few different video files on it, and working with those seemed to be more than it could handle. I think I had used about... 2 or 3 Gb of space. Don't let the "sweet price" fool you. Unless you want to risk losing all your stuff. Avoid. Avoid. Avoid.

bad product

Tried to use these and the amount of lost data, drive failures and shoddy customer service. I will never use a Lexar product again. Spent weeks with tech support and jumped through their warranty hoops only to have a dirty rebuilt replacement sent to me, that lasted less than 2 weeks. Poor quality and a garbage of a drive.

Corrupt files / slow

When using this usb, files transferred extremely slow. Trying to open the files they were extremely slow. Eventually they weren't accessible. The first day when using it it seems a bit slow but still usable, second day its problems were a lot worse. Everything eventually became corrupted and unusable. I exchanged it for another one, and same problem. It is a little bit better then the first but at the same time I barely transferred any files on it since I can't trust this usb to store important files.

Cheap make but works..once formatted...

The drive´s material is cheap, feels cheap and fragile. When I tried to use it...failure as the drive is formatted for Windows and not for MAC. Once I formatted it, seems to work.
