Terrible quality

Bought this camera almost a year ago and nothing but issues. First it stopped reading sd cards and had to buy a new one and now the front camera only records a white screen. I bought two, one for my car and one for my wife's car. Both have this issue. Also, a friend of mine bought one a little earlier than me and is now having the exact same issue. Don't waste your money on this camera. Buy something else.

it was good for a little over 1yr, now it no longer works

It was great for about 4months, then it wouldn't read my sd card, so i bought a more expensive card, and it worked, but once in a while it would tell me it couldnt read the card, restart and start recording again. A few weeks back, the front camera ( main body ) would record in a green hue, reset the camera, still the same. Rear camera still works fine. Yup, its dead, i have tried everything. Should have gone Blackvue, i know several people that have that and it has been good for well over 4yrs

Be careful

15 months after I purchased mine, I am getting Check SD card. I've tried all the recommended solutions and they do not solve the problem. Appears to be a problem with this unit and it seems to happen after the warranty period has passed.

Not worth the money

Bad video quality, no night vision, the 3M sticky pads come unstuck easily when the window gets damp, the software is buggy and not easy to output video unless you find the right codec (which took me several weeks). It was really a bad choice on my part but now I am stuck with it as BestBuy won't let me return it.

Works well but exporting video is impossible

We tried to export video to send to icbc but we couldnt even get the video file out of the sd card. We ended up just recording the video onto our phones and sending in the video. Crap option on a decent camera. 2 stars because I am a LG fan.

Works great until you export video

The thing works great on it's own, but it's useless if you can not export video. The option to export video to a .MP4 file is available, but when exported only audio is exported. This is useless when sending accident information to the police. Anyone else have this issue? Bestbuy cannot help me, LG cannot help me, I've been going around in circles for over a month and now cannot return the product. what a waste of time... I will never buy from Bestbuy or any LG product again... all crap. I advise the same. Buy somewhere else...

Awesome cam, bad fuses

I received this dashcam for christmas but had to return it for an exchange due to a power fault. I though either the camera was fried or the power cord was. They gave me a whole new cam, which lasted about 3 weeks. The power fault happened again and I couldnt turn it on anymore. I brought it back to Best Buy again but tried to only swap the power cord and that was the issue. I then opened the cigar adapter by unscrewing the tip. There is a small glass fuse inside that had blown. There isnt a trouble shooting guide so hope this helps others down the road. Just replace the fuse if it ever happens to you, and dont unplug the power from the dashcam while the cigar apapter is plugged in. I am almost positive that is what caused the fuse to blow both times.

No parking mode without hardwire kit. Hardwire kit unavailable.

Girlfriend bought me this for Christmas. Parking mode does not work without a hardwiring the unit to vehicle. Best Buy doesn't even sell the hardwire kit! I bought a 3rd party unit online which powered the camera when parked but did not activate the actual parking mode which records on impact (separate impact sensitivity setting from driving mode) and motion. I had to contact LG Innotek directly for them to tell me that the unit will only work with the official LG Hardwire kit which Best Buy does NOT sell! LG put me in contact with their Canadian distributor who said that Best Buy will carry the kit. It's almost mid February at this point and the kit is vaporware. If this wasn't a gift from my girlfriend I would have returned it weeks ago.

Better than expected!

I used another camera before this one, or should I say I tried to use it. Very difficult to program and virtually no instructions. This one was amazingly easy to set up and use. Its so easy it really doesn't need a manual. Great quality too!

Amazing Product

I wish rear camera would be wireless but its not and I wish front camera would have battery. It does what it says. You can install it yourself. It literally took me 20 minutes to install. You can hide the wires too. Good thing is wires are pretty long so you don't have to worry about if wire will reach all the to back or not. I would highly recommend this product.

Great value for a 2-channel dashcam

Got this as an Xmas gift and was very excited. Very easy to connect and get it working right away out of the box using the simple menu in the touchscreen. Great video image and very cool to see in action. The only thing is that if want to use the parking mode you need a hardwire installation kit which is sold separately. Otherwise very satisfied and I cannot believe the great price for an LG product. Would definitely recommend.

Great value great product

Just installed, great long cords for front and rear cameras. I would like to see a bit better mount that has two axis but managed with one, just had to be carful when mounting. I couldn't get the star rating to work. 4-stars just because it didn't come gps included.

Didn't record a thing…

There was only one review that I could find for this camera at the time of its purchase and it was very negative, but we bought it anyway. After install, the camera appeared to be operating normally. However, when we tried to view the video there was nothing on the memory card. After troubleshooting & updating software as per the manufacturer's instructions, the camera refused to recognize the memory card at all. This camera was packed up and returned.

Bought yesterday, returning today

Bought this as a Boxing Day deal. No install instructions (just a one pager with vague description of features). No warning that adhesive to windshield is permanent, so you only get one shot to place it. Long cables that required permanent connection; main camera doesn't have a battery that keeps a charge so draws from 12V. Sales rep told us rear camera was wireless, it's not; so there's a 20 foot cable running to the back of the car. Set camera to battery saving mode and it killed my trucks battery overnight anyways. Sitting here waiting for CAA to give me a boost. Horrible product with no clear description of functionality on the box or website.

I purchased this dash cam about a month - 2 months ago on sale at Best Buy and it does exactly what it says it does! I am very impressed as I was not expecting it to do what it says it does so well! Usually when I buy something on such a great sale, there's usually a good reason why...... but in regards to this item, it is great! I am very happy and I would definitely highly recommend this product! The only thing I could think of if I was forced to give one negative would be the screen size but that's not necessarily a bad thing either as it doesn't take up a lot of needless space on the windshield, it only takes up what it absolutely needs. The screen size works great for me as I can see whatever I need too without taking up my windshield. It is a touch screen and it works great! I was absolutely impressed with the 'working' temperature part as we had a very, VERY cold week this past week (Alberta, Canada) at minus -25 degrees but with windchill it felt closer to minus 40-45 degrees! It was freezing cold and I was not expecting the dash cam would even turn on in this frigid temperature but surprise, it did! And it worked just like it normally does, I am very impressed as I was very worried that it may not work well with our frigid cold winters but I am so happy to see that it will not even be an issue. Very easy and straight forward on how to use it. Simple set up and installation (if you could even call it that LOL I just ran the rear camera cord along the roof of my van and I still had a lot of cord left over). If anything, I would purchase a few more cord hangers but the 3 that it came with it did a good enough job in my minivan so in a regular car, the 3 would be sufficient. It has worked every single time so far and it seems very dependable. I am going to also buy the GPS Receiver as well so I can track my speed, etc. Overall, great product worth the price (even more!). I would definitely buy it again!

Very pleased

We recently purchased this as a gift and then got one for ourselves. We had it installed for us. When we first tried it, it was a rainy day. The picture quality was good. It took us awhile to figure out how to get the program to view on our computer. (we are seniors) We did get it and the picture quality is even better when viewing on the computer. I would definitely recommend this.
