very potent router with crappy UI

I've been the owner of one of these for about 3 months now and I have to give it a mixed feelings review. Performance wise, this thing is a beast, it's fast FAST, which is what you'd expect from a high end router. Also, 8 LAN ports is a very useful perk only this router has (so far). Wireless range is quite good and pretty reliable. The bad side has to do with the Linksys "crapware" that drives this thing. When navigating the router settings on a wired connection, it takes forever to load and will crash my internet browser (I tried 3 different browsers). The save settings function is also quite random, trying to use the parental control works sometimes. Hopefully, there will be third party firmwares soon enough... If you are one to thinker with your settings on a regular basis, keep away from this router, but if all you are looking for is to forget the thing once it's install, it's a very potent device.

Very fast network speed, but....

I've owned this router for a few months now, and it works wonders as far as networking goes, blazing fast transfers, even with 15+ devices on my home network. 8 Wired ports is also a great feature when you own many devices like NAS or other "non-mobile" devices. Problem is with the router software. The webpages to configure the router take forever to load, watching little circles going in circle... Pages can sometime take 20+ seconds to load. Also, sometimes, for no reason, a device on my network will loose connection and the only way to get it to reconnect is to reboot the router. Watching youtube on an iPad shouldn't be an issue that crashes a router, even if it's an intensive use from a teenager !! So, overall, a good product with great features and LOTS of room for improvement.

Great performance but...

This router is great overall, 8 ports is a must, wifi is blazing fast. BUT, because there is a but, the web interface is slow beyond what anyone would believe. I stand in front of a rolling circle for long minutes, and it's driving me insane

Linksys AC5400 (EA9500) Router

The installation was straight forward and went without problem. But after two weeks the router would no longer accept a connection. The 2.6 MHz link did not even show in the list of possible networks. The error "Cannot connect to the network" is not in the trouble shooting guide. I am currently using the old nodes on my network and waiting for a chance to contact support for this item.

LINKSYS the best router

Works perfectly and actually saved me money omitting range extender and not a single drop on connection. Other router drops specially when using the microwave oven. This one rock steady.

Very Impressive Router

Setup: I set the router up through the iOS App, which only took minutes. Easiest router setup I've ever encountered. Speed Test (old router vs new): I tested the Internet speed of my old router before setting up the new one. With the same devices connected, this router gave me a considerable boost in speed, with a more consistent connection - I guess that's the MU-MIMO technology at work, and full disclosure I set the device to priority from the App on new router): - Old Router: 22.37Mbps Download / 2.58Mbps Upload - New Router: 34.66Mbps Download / 5.44 Upload WiFi: Increased range over my last router. WiFi was spotty at best in one room with the old router, but I get full bars with this router. I guess the 8 antennas actually do something, besides making it kind of look like a dead spider... You can broadcast up to 4 WiFi signals - two for you & two for guests (2.4ghz / 5.3ghz). Conclusion: It's expensive for a reason. This router is amazing for those with many devices connected at once, and if you're wanting to stream 4K Netflix, you will want a router like this. The App is the first router app I've encountered that is actually useful, it has a simple UI, made set up easy, provides a snapshot of devices, allows you to prioritize connected devices which saves time manually port forwarding, and it allows you to send WiFi settings to guests through text message or email.

Powerful Router

I never thought I'd go back to a Linksys router, the last time I had one was over 10 years ago. Well, it was time to upgrade and I've read plenty of reviews out there and this model seems to be getting some great reviews. I made up my mind and saw this model on sale and thought to myself why the heck not. It is slightly heavy but not something you'll have trouble lifting. Setup time was roughly 10 mins and voila I was up and running. The operating power from this router was exactly perfect for my large home. Have it running a week now with no issues. I have to say Linksys has won me back after all these years.

What a difference

This router is worth every penny. It spreads out all of my devices across three bands, this helps maintain a high connectivity among all my devices. Also has an app I can look at to see what devices are connected to the network. the 2.4GHtz band has 1000mbs band, the next best router maxes out at 600. This allows older devices to get the maximum bandwidth. New devices have a WIFI AC chip which connects to the 5ghtz bands. Everything runs seamlessly! A little pricey, but worth it especially if you have a lot of devices in the household.

What a beast

I upgraded from the netgear 6300 to this one and what a big difference. It give me faster download speed than advertised by my internet provider. The setup was the most easiest ever with no problems. I would buy it again and again with no doubt. I was comparing it to the Asus AC5300 and the Netgeat X8, this is by far the best of all.
