Very bad product

This product and very hard to set up and you have to log in every time. the thing always turns off. I will be returning this product back to the store.

Very easy .. well thought out installation.

I bought my WiFi Router from my Internet provider, to get support .. but it is actually a fairly dated low end unit .. so I was concerned .. but it could not have been more forward. I found the instructions were VERY easy and well done. Here is a couple hints, particularly, if you do not have the WPS easy connect button on your router. You NEED a WiFi device to connect right to the WiFi Extender. This was very important as I just happen to have my laptop with me and clued in. If you use your desktop, well it talks great to the Internet, but has no way to talk to the extender at this point. So plug the extender in and connect to IT'S wifi. My laptop would not connect to the extender, seem to time out trying; but a reboot and it connected pronto. It took me a good hour to get it done, but I was going "slow and careful". If I did it again, I could do it likely in 15 minutes. Would recommend it.

Works when wants too

Bought it few days ago to give it a try. EX: works before going to sleep, waking up on LTE or on the wifi but under the 'no internet connection'. This was enough and im going to return it and get the TP-LINK RE450. A lilttle bit more expensive but more powerful. PS: i have 50 mbps downalod speed. with this extender, when it works, i only have 20-25 max. Not worth it.

Good product if somewhat slighly overpriced

The Netgear AC750 is a solid trustworthy WiFi range extender that performs well and, as whole entirely reliable. The instruction manual however is not very clear and requires seveeral reviews before the user can understand the authors intention. I suspect some explanations were lost in the translation.

This thing is worthless. Firstly the instructions are given incorrectly in the booklet & then access to the installation website doesn't work correctly. Took 2 hrs just to set it up (trial & error) & then in the location where I wanted range extension, it shows only the same signal strength as the router. But the internet wasn't working at all using the the extender's wifi. Returned it today. Wouldn't consider this brand again as they should first get their instruction manual sorted.

Works great

Instructions intimidating, since I have a Cogeco dual modem the WPA button didn't work but when I realized it was just a modem install so when I went to the Option 2 installation, it took me to the Netgear website and it did everything for me. So the install was a breeze. I didn't need much distance so can't comment on the coverage. I was advised that 5G doesn't travel as far as 2G (shorter wave length) and find I get a better signal with 2G. I am very satisfied with the product.

Limited Ability

I purchased this version as it is meant to have a stronger wi-if signal than it's lesser version - it struggles to obtain a fifty foot distance in wi-if signal - which is very disappointing!

NetGear Ex6100 Extender

I bought this several weeks ago. Plugged it in. No problem. Works great.

Works like a charm

Mind you, I've done a lot of research in wifi extenders and read just about all the reviews on a few selective products I had in mind. Purchased mine at the Bestbuy located at Scarborough Town Centre, brought it home, read the manual then plug and play. I live in a home where there's big separations of walls and rooms. The walls are filled with fire and sound insulations from room to room. There were 5 dead room spots in the home, cannot be reached no matter how close we stuck the router. After installing the plugging this wifi device, I'm amazed at how quickly and efficiently, it worked. No gimmick. This is one of the cheaper wifi extenders on the market and to be frank it does the job. All rooms have wifi now. The plus about this device, it's dual band (which my router supports) and it offers one Ethernet port as well. I hope this review helps people who are on the fence. Cheers, Louis from Toronto

Bought this product yesterday. I have a very strong signal where I didn't before. I recommend this product. Take the time to read the instructions and set it up for your style of router.

Poor signal!

I only had a 20 foot range with Bell's Modem, so I tried this. The signal from this product was worse than the Bell Modem. Returning it today.....

Not compatible with my router

After struggling for over two hours I will be returning this product. Shows as connected but no signal. Also causes my expensive main router to be re-installed. Not compatible with my router as stated on packaging. Waist of time and money. Should be 0/5 stars.

Good wifi range and easy set-up

Very easy to set up and good wifi range (not great). Good Value when on sale. Does exactly what I need it to do.

  • from Timmins, ON

Installed the extender April 2015, easy set-up no issues. The wifi range is not what I thought it would be, but we are getting a signal where we needed it. So, no real complaints. If you can pick this unit up on sale, it's a best buy :)

I bought this product and in two weeks in stopped working. So i went back to Best Buy and got a new one same model though. I set it up and two weeks later is has stopped working again. DO NOT BUY THIS. I repeat DO NOT BUY THIS

  • from ajax, ON

i like it

Good product. Easy to set up. Works just fine. Overall satisfied.

  • from Mississauga, ON

Only worked for 2 weeks

After purchasing the AC6100 I was pleased as it was a fast and easy set up using WPS. But after 2 weeks i stopped working and would no longer stream the internet. (This was purchased specifically for my apple tv located in the furthest bedroom from the modem). After resetting the extender several times and using the smartgenie it still would not stream although it appeared connected. I will be returning this product to the store.

Works well in FastLane mode

For some reason this device just wasn't working well in my network when it was extending both 2.4 and 5 GHz. It would work well for the first 5 minutes and then it would start to slow down the entire network (we have about 30 devices in the house), as soon as I unplug the network would bounce back to normal. I tried everything and couldn't figure it out however I am partially thinking heat is to blame, it runs quite hot and network devices usually slow down if they are hot. Then I discovered the FastLane setting in the Advanced Settings menu, here you can tell it to use 5 GHz between the router and extender, and then 2.4 ghz between the extender and the clients (or vice versa), this works very well! I'm getting 390 mbps AC to the extender and 300 mbps N from the extender and no instability. It provides full coverage for the top floor of the house, great range on this thing.

Simple Install

Just bought this on the Boxing Day deal which i needed so bad because I have my Cable modem/router all the way in the corner of the mancave and I was receiving a really.......really slow connection to receieve on my S5 in the bedroom on the top floor and for the wife's media player. Jus follow the instructions and you computer will seach for the wifi(Netgear) click on that and just follow the rest

Not as satisfied

I bought this range extender during the boxing week sale and base on the two previous review it was positive therefore I thought I would try it out because I live in an basement house where the walls are heavily insulated with soundproof insulation therefore even though I bought a high end D link router but signal was still weak. Once I plug in the extender that I bought and follow the exact instructions to set it up like previous post it sets up two more separate network signal from your existing one but one under 2.4ghz and 5ghz. The signal shows 4 full bars but I don't see much of a difference from my existing signal therefore I went back to my existing signal and it seems much faster than the new one that I had set - up. I'll be returning this product because my expectation is not what I like it to be. Hopefully my review will help you in deciding to make your purchase or not.

Good for money

Signal becomes stronger in remote areas, upload speed remains same, but download speed drops about 3 times.

Excellent product

I had purchased a D-link range extender (less expensive) for a house in the city and the country. Easy to install but password was different than my router and it failed to connect on a regular basis. Spent a bit more for the Netgear AC 750 and it has worked like a dream in both houses. Strong signal all of the time (unless the microwave is running!) and same password as my router (with the word netgear following my router password). I have a box in a secluded spot where I need wifi to get Netflix and the Netgear extender has worked each time. Highly recommended.

AC 750 Range Extender

I bought this extender to improve wifi strength in a specific isolated room in my home. I struggled a bit with installation but some of that was because I didn't read the instructions carefully enough, however it's not exactly plug 'n play like Netgear's powerline. It definitely solved the problem in that room but rather than extend the existing two wifi networks, it create two new "wifi-EXT" networks so anyone in that room has to consciously join a new network to get the better signal. Not quite as simple as the Apple Express that would simply extend the original network.
