More Information

Image quality you can be proud of
  • When you're shooting photos of your cousin's wedding you'll love the D610's 24.3-megapixel Nikon FX-format full-frame CMOS sensor. With an ISO range from ISO 100 to ISO 6400 (expandable to ISO 50 and ISO 25,600) you'll be able to capture high-quality pictures and movies in any lighting condition.
  • Inside the D610 you'll find the EXPEED 3 image processing engine, the same high-performance engine that under the hood of the high-end D4, D800, and D800E Nikon FX-format cameras. It gives you faithful, vivid colour reproduction and advanced noise reduction.
  • As your cousin glides down the aisle, looking radiant in her gown, you'll be thankful for the AF system with 39 focus points. It ensures every shot of the bride comes out looking crisp and clear.
  • The Scene Recognition System identifies brightness, contrast, subject position, and more to enhance the performance of 3D tracking and Auto Area AF.
Movies that move you
  • The D610 lets you capture Full HD 1080p videos with selectable frame rates of 30p, 25p, or 24p. When your cousin is taking her first dance with her new husband, the super-sharp resolution will clearly show the sparkles in her eyes as she looks into his face.
  • When capturing video you can choose from 2 movie formats (FX-based and DX-based) so you can take advantage of full compositional freedom.
Features you'll love
  • When it's time for the best man's speech, you can use the continuous quiet mode to take rapid-fire shots at 3fps without disturbing the best man because, let's face it, he's already nervous enough.
  • Pick up the Wireless Mobile Adapter WU-1b (sold separately) and give the D610 the ability to wirelessly send full-size images and videos to your smartphone or tablet. Good Camera

RAW quality is virtually indistinguishable from D750, and this is confirmed by DxO Labs' sensor testing. Amazing dynamic range that allows you to underexpose to preserve highlights, then bump up the shadows in post. There are two annoyances, however. One is that the autofocus system has poor accuracy in low light. Two is that vibration from the shutter mechanism interferes with the VR function on the 300mm F/4 PF, causing blurry images at certain shutter speeds. This is fixed by attaching the vertical grip. But still unacceptable, Nikon. Once you get past the annoyances, the D610 is an amazingly capable photographic tool. The most important thing is to remember to take the damn camera with you. A camera that stays at home is useless.

I've owned my D610 now for over a year and really haven't had any complaints with it as it's to this day producing some amazing landscapes with the Nikon 20mm f1.8 EG that I have on it. In low light situations it puts other camera's to shame for attempting to capture the Milky Way or Northern Lights to simple long exposure shots. For anyone looking to upgrade from a crop sensor to a full-frame camera should seriously look at this camera. If you're reading any review and someone has some negative comments it's either that they aren't too familiar with their equipment or take no pride in keeping their gear in tip top shape. I highly suggest this camera and for anyone wanting to see how it rates on DXOMARK here's the link.

This camera is simply awesome. It can be heavy, depending on what lens you have on it. But the low light performance, full frame, depth and incredible dynamic range make it a no brainer purchase if this is the level of photography you want. Video is great, landscape and portrait both come out excellent.

Awesome Camera

This camera is one of the best in the DSLR market... it simply is awesome. The low light sensor, the great color and light range, the wide full frame, the great burst speed... just awesome! The battery life is great (over 500 shots)... the 24MP are sometimes too much, but nice to have for digital crop/zoom.
