Don't buy

I witnessed a minor fender bender while in my car, and I thought, I could give the Papago GS-118 video to the drivers. Then I thought I should check to see if the camera caught the accident first. I push the buttons on the unit, nothing works except to turn the display off. Since the accident was minor, I left. I get home, and remove the memory card. It's full, and hasn't made a new recording for the last 45 days! I went through the options, there is a "format warning" option, which I couldn't figure out what it was for, but now it seems that it's a timed reminder "feature" that I need to manually format the memory card before it gets full. Now that I've formatted the memory card in my computer, and put it back in the unit, the buttons on the unit work again. So if you don't format the card in the unit before it gets full, you have to take it out and format it on another device. My unit, like others have stated, does not start up reliably. About 1 time in 10 it won't start up. When I turn the car on, and the Papago GS-118 does not start up, I have to manually unplug the power cord for 5-30 minutes, then plug it back in, then the unit may start up again. It's not good enough to simply turn the car off, the power cord must be disconnected. I believe the resolution of the video is fine, but the video is over compressed, and there is no option to set the compression level. This means that you can read the license plate of a car that is 10 feet in front of you, but anything further away and it gets too blurry. The display is always on, and while you can press a button to turn it off, it doesn't remember the setting through power cycles. I find the status LED annoying and covered it with tape. I would not buy the Papago GS-118 again.

Went completely dead after 3 weeks. Prior to that it would often freeze and not turn on at engine start. Some recordings were also not playable and license plates and street names were difficult to read.

Bought for Motorcycle Use

Vibration from my motorcycle mount causes jittery video, which I expected before the purchase. At highway speed and higher rpm the images are fairly stable. License plates are difficult to read, and could be just the 720 definition.. I don't think any other dash cam could do any better. It doesn't have a "flip" mode like the GS110.

Stops Recording

Stops recording during night. Decent video quality. Good customer service as they provided RMA and promised to send new one back once they receive the old one. I have to pay shipping to California which is not fair as product is just past allowable return date from Best Buy.

Good value for its price

Excellent video during daytime and better than average quality for night time video. No complain if you think of the price at [price]. It uses a 3M sticker to get fixed on your windshield. I personally prefer a suction cup that allows me to move it around easily.

For price is pretty good.

Easy to install and figure out. However very sensitive with bumpy road and haven't figured out what else. Noticed that the video will freeze and jump while recording. Then realized that in those places the road wasn't smooth. So yeah 50/50 chance that you'll capture what you want/need.

Cheap but performance marginal

Good price but performance is marginal. Even watch the recorded video on my PC monitor, I cannot clearly view the license plates if the car in front is farther than 2-3 meters. The transformer even though small will be exposed under the windshield because it is in mid-way of the cable. The user manual is rather confusing, better to play with the camera.

Good price & excellent performance

This unit is tiny, good quality picture in day time and night time, easy to install and set-up. Unlike the >>>>>suck cup, the attached 3M sticker can firmly keep the cam on the window glass even in very hot condition (60 degree, we are going through the hot summer). Recommend you to find videos (how to install a dashcam in your car) in youtube for the similar products and learn how to hide the wire when install it in your car before you actually do it. Have recommend this cam to my friends.

Cheap And Gets The Job Done

Nice little unit.

Small, discreet, easy to set up and use. I have owned more expensive cameras and this does everything they can do at half the price. No internal battery so no need to worry about leaving it in a hot car. Just set it up and forget its there. I would recommend this dashcam.

Awesome tiny dashcam!

I was looking for a small dashcam to fit on my Fiat’s windshield and I came across the PAPAGO GoSafe 118. I am so glad that I did. I basically wanted a small dashcam that was not too noticeable but was still well-made and could record good footage. I definitely found what I was looking for! This dashcam is durable and very well designed. I am able to fit it securely right behind my rearview mirror without hardly even seeing it. The cable is long enough so that I can run it around my headliner like they suggest on their website and I don’t even have any loose wires dangling. The video is excellent. It is only 720 HD but you can still make everything out from the footage and clearly see license plates and other important stuff like street names. A definte 5 star product!
