Buyers Observations

Great 10 year warranty on compressor (at least with paperwork with mine) Greedy service people price a compressor repair as a new fridge! Very fragile exterior (freezer door handle designed to break away if yanked hard) Still waiting for clips to repair ( not listed in Samsung repair schematics). Soft molded panels that are paper thin and expensive to source from authorized repair parts dealer. (I would not recommend placing 2 2 litre pop bottles on door since parts will snap from weight. Overall good fridge , layout for tall items is awkward.

Disappointing on all levels

I purchased this fridge about a year and half ago and recently it has been making incredibly loud noises. We looked in the manual and at first saw the warranty for the USA which is 5 years, but then realized that in Canada it is only 1 year. We called customer support and were on hold for half an hour, hung up on, then called back. Finally, we were transferred again, waited another 10 minutes and then the person we spoke with, from the management teams, was incredibly rude and unhelpful. The person would not respond when we would ask questions, so there would be long silent gaps in the phone and she offered no attempt at troubleshooting the fridge. After a long pause, when we thought they were looking up warranty, they said, "do you have anymore questions?", obviously just trying to end the phone call rather than help us with what we needed. They told us that there was nothing they could do, when we asked if there was anybody superior to her they said that this was the management team. If that is how incapable the management is then there is absolutely no hope for respectful customer support from Samsung. I am appalled by the lack of care and consideration given to customers. She told us we would have to call an "authorized Samsung service provider", who is a third party, in order to have our fridge looked at. We live in Toronto and in the city of Toronto there is only 1, which is ludicrous, in the entire GTA there are only 3. So I imagine having them come to our house to service our fridge is going to be incredibly expensive. When we bought this fridge we were replacing a 25 year old fridge. I am incredibly concerned about the environment and the idea of having to replace a fridge every couple years is quite disturbing for me; an appliance that should last 10-20 years at least. In the past 19 months we have purchased a washing machine, which was recalled, a fridge which is failing, a dishwasher that we have had to fix on several occasions, and a dryer that we are just waiting to have issues with at this point; all of which were Samsung. Not only would I not recommend this to someone but I would strongly urge people not to purchase this or any other Samsung appliance for that matter. Update: I finally had a Samsung authorized service provider come look at my fridge and he knew exactly what was wrong with it right away because he had seen it before. They ordered the part from Samsung, and my fridge in this time completely stopped working, it has been 3 weeks and there is still no part. I called Samsung and they were incredibly unhelpful and provided me with no resolution. I have nothing positive to say of Samsung. My fridge currently is still not working and has not for over a week.

Quiet. Big enough for our family of 5. We love the look and function. The tray for the water dispenser is annoying but it is currently sitting in a drawer.

Great space, very nice fridge. Ice & water dispenser great. Only little thing I dont like is that I have to wiggle out the veggie bins if they need to be removed because french doors dont open enough for them to be easily pulled out.
