Great for a bedroom! :)

Recently purchased this TV as an upgrade from a 32", and looks great by comparison. It's a good size with decent picture quality. I found you do need to fiddle with picture settings, as the colour is quite saturated, and the screen is quite bright, but looks nice nonetheless!

Satisfactory picture but slow navigating

Overall pleased with this TV. I am counting on Sharp's reputation for reliability. I have an old Aquos and a more modern 32 inch Sharp that still work very well, so I bought this 40 incher. Nice picture, but painfully slow for menu navigation and channel changing, although these are very minor quibbles. Would recommend. One other thing: As others have mentioned the picture settings MUST be adjusted to get a decent picture.

Very good tv

I've had this tv for two weeks now. I'm very pleased with it. Good picture for the price.

If I could rate this tv a 0 I would

This tv was very disappointing, I bought it based on the reviews and it was a total waste of my money and time. 10 minutes after turning it on it would go to a black screen with the sound still on. I called customer service and the lady I spoke with seemed very uninformed and very unprofessional as I had to keep repeating myself in order for her to understand what I was saying and I found that to be very frustrating. I was then told that the tv was defective and to return it. I got a Toshiba instead and I love it!!

Great picture. Recommend auxiliary sound system for best results.

Great Bargain & Great Quality!

I purchased this TV two weeks ago, I can't believe how great the sharpness and details of the images, and very natural color scheme. Great bargain for the price, no bells and whistles, it's a simple as it gets. Bluray movies look stunning in 1080p, far superior than my previous Insignia 40inch which looked very dull in comparison. If you don't care about getting a 4K tv, then I highly recommend this Sharp TV! It's definitely up there with the higher end brands! AAA+++

good for the price with spperant flaw

Nought this yesterday for a TV for my basement playroom / gym. It looks great watching netflix cartoon with my son. Color is sharp just needed a little fix. All program we tried only show 1080i for some reason. poped in my old upscale samsung dvd player and played Hurcules from Disney. It shows 1080p color is vibrant and smootj. sound is ok needed to pumped it up a lot. During my morning workout, watched Star Treak Beyond. Sreen shows gjost on charaters and top third of the screen seems slower or a screen tear for a brief moment. fast action have alot of ghost or screen tear. I doubt I can watch hockey on this TV. I will be exchanging it today.

Great buy if you are looking to save money

Great overall device. The plastic leg stands look a bit cheap, but everything else is ok. And everyone is right about the color settings, they are so off balance when first turned on that it can't be looked at. Just go to setting - picture and change to movie mode first, after that you can enjoy this tv set.

Decent Television

I ordered this TV when it was on sale for a very good price, and would say that it was worth it for the value. It's not the best TV on the market by any means, even within the 1080p realm, but if you can get it for less than the average cost of a comparable size TV then go for it. I am using this as a display for a media PC, using an Intel NUC running OpenElec. The TV has a very easy to find setting to disable overscan, so leveraging it as an output display for a computer is not an issue. I found that the default picture settings had very high contrast and inaccurate colours, but as with any television on the market right now you can easily adjust the colour profile (either using a preset or by manually customizing the configuration).

Exactly what I expected

The TV was easy to set up, I don't need 4K and the price was unbeatable. We are very happy with our purchase. The picture quality was great. If only the star rating on this form worked as well. I give the TV 5 stars

Great TV at great price

This TV has great image quality and is just the right size for a smallish living room. It was easy to set up and connect to our existing systems. I'm the type of person who doesn't see the value in a 4K TV so if you are a real TV geek then keep that in mind. Overall I would absolutely recommend this TV to friends and family.

Great TV and Picture

I bought this TV on a Cyber Monday sale. Great value for the money for a non-smart TV. Great picture, easy set-up and simple to use. Three HDMI ports to plug in Apple TV or a DVD player, digital cable box or whatever. The TV is very light and thin, it takes up very little space.

Great TV!

Excellent picture quality, sound quality, and fit and finish. Well worth the price paid.

Pleasantly Surprised

I didn't have very high expectations for this TV, but I thought we would give it a try since it was on sale for Black Friday (almost half price). At the price we got it for - we are very happy with it. It would have been nice if it had component inputs (Nintendo Wii), but 3 HDMI ports is nice. After tweaking the picture settings, it looks pretty good. There are no gray uniformity issues. The colors are vibrant. Backlight is even. Speakers are just OK. At regular price, I would probably go for a Samsung or LG for only a bit more.

Excellent LED 40" Tv

I highly recommend this product. Thin bezels. Good sound and Excellent picture quality. The Menu system is basic with some advanced features. You wont regret getting this tv

Speed is low.

Viewed good feedback on Reviews of SHARP 32" in before. So brought this 40" tv on Cyber Monday Nov 21. Speed is low. Picture is fine but not for all basic channels from 2-29; for example, CTV Nat'l (channel 17) is blur. Sound volume is unstable sometimes during a program, need to adjust from level 10 to louder and louder till 20 at least; and need to adjust volume on different channels.

It's decent, once you adjust it

I bought with zero reviews but took the chance. Once you calibrate the picture settings it isn't a horrible tv. Just want to watch some shows it's okay, but gaming I haven't tried yet. Right out of the box the picture isn't set up well as it's too bright and pretty scary but darken it up and calibrate it and it's okay. For a sale price I'm content.
