The Sonos PLAY:3 is a wireless hi-fi system that's small enough to put anywhere with power that's big enough to impress. It features 3 integrated speakers and 3 dedicated digital amps that deliver rich, vibrant sound. You can wirelessly enjoy your iTunes library, online streaming services, podcasts, audiobooks, and more.

More Information

Amazing sound -- your ears will thank you

  • The Sonos PLAY:3 features 3 Class-D amplifiers and 3 custom-build drivers, which allow it to pump out full, wide-ranging, crystal-clear stereo sound at any volume
  • The built-in bass radiator ensures your audio includes deep, rumbling bass
  • The all-digital sound architecture reproduces sound precisely, so you hear what the artist intended
  • The Trueplay tuning feature analyzes the acoustic properties of the room and then fine tunes the drivers so you can enjoy the optimum sound experience for both music and home theatre entertainment

Play it your way

  • PLAY:3 automatically optimizes the sound: let the speaker stand tall and it'll play in mono, or lay it on its side and the speaker will switch to stereo
  • Equipped with rubber feet on both sides so it'll stay put in any orientation and won't risk scratching any surfaces
  • Pair two PLAY:3s and turn them into separate left- and right-channel speakers for bigger stereo sound -- perfect for home theatre audio
  • Boost the bass by connecting the PLAY:3 (single or stereo pair) wirelessly to a SUB, which creates the additional bonus of allowing the PLAY:3 speakers to focus on producing better mid-range and high frequencies

More than just playlists

  • With wireless connectivity through WiFi you'll be able to stream your iTunes library, favourite music services, and thousands of radio stations around the world
  • Since PLAY:3 uses Wi-Fi, not Bluetooth, you'll enjoy an audio stream with no dropouts, delays, or interruptions, and the music keeps playing even if your phone receives a call
  • Use the Sonos Controller app for your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, or Android device to search for songs and radio stations, control volume, and pick music to play

Expand the possibilities

  • Setup is simple and easy, taking less than 10 minutes
  • Add more Sonos players to your home and enjoy incredible wireless range, so you can blast your favourite tunes in every room or enjoy different songs in different rooms simultaneously
  • Connect the PLAY:3 to your wireless router to link all your Sonos players wirelessly with one touch
  • PLAY:3 is compatible with all Sonos products

Real Sound Quality!

Very happy with my purchase, I bought it for my kitchen. Sonos Play 3 will fill your space with real quality sound. I believe it sounds better than Bose, therefore money well spent.

Sonos 3 not what I thought

I bought the speaker system on suggestion from the sales representative. For the first 2 months it worked great. I could listen to any radio station, I signed up to Apple Play and it worked very well. The volume is not great but the sound quality is pretty good. Then the fun started. It would not connect. I updated the App and then it workwd from 1 device but not the next one. Then it would be stuck on the last station. In the end it worked only in this mode. We couldn't get any other music source to play. We couldn't get the music on our device to play. I still am not sure if it can. Best Buy was kind enough to get me a replacement but I will not buy this product again. Software is not failsafe and devices driven by Apps will not last forever

Great speaker

This isn't a Bluetooth speaker so be aware that you can't stream YouTube/Netflix audio through this unit. That being said, this thing sounds amazing, makes me want to buy more speakers from this company.

So easy to set up. Love it.

I bought a Sonos 1 and 3. Easy to set up on a iPhone. Sound and volume are great. Two complaints--not compatible with Audible and does not support podcast apps (ie Castro) so I have to use the iTunes app.

This speaker is fantastic. i have a Kliptsch reference series 5.1 surround sound system but heard a lot of good things about this speaker. Feeling bored one day I went to best buy to try it out, I bought it thinking to test it at home and return it. Once at home I set it up, which was super fast and easy, and the sound...excellent, I couldn't bring myself to bring it back. The vocals, the instruments, the deep base, just awesome. I use it for listening to music and the speaker is excellent. Light and easy to carry around the house, fills even big rooms with good base and 3D like sound. Excellent work Sonos, I am a fan now.

We got our first Play 3 at Xmas. I was impressed at how easy it was to set this up on the in-house wifi network. We have it in our Great Room and the sound is Phenomenal! It took me about five minutes to figure out how to access our music library but after that the software organized the library and gave us an excellent organization by artist, album, genre, title, etc. We have moved to speaker to another couple of rooms and it works fine without have to reinitialize. We have the app on our PCs, tablet and Android phones. It is one of the easiest to use control apps I have ever used. It has opened up the world of radio with TuneIn - a service that was highly inconvenient to use before. We plan on buying several Play 1s for the rec room, patio, craft room and den. Love the Sonos environment!

I have had Sonos for a 2 years now and it is always reliable. The music quality is awesome and setting it up is so simple. It goes with most smartphones and the app is free! wireless control is the most probably the best thing about it. You can control everything through your phone, computer and tablet. It's perfect for holidays, parties, and any excuse to play music. 10/10!!!!

Play: 3

Sounds great. Often face issues when moving it from one room to another, it doesn't recognize the move and we have to set it up from scratch again. Find it hard to believe that you are unable to stream movie or game sound to the speaker. Expect more for the (over)price.

Great product

Wonderful big sound from a small speaker. Relatively easy to set up. I had to look up how to sync my music library to the Sonos system. Fifteen minutes and I was up and running. Now my daughter wants a Play 1 for her room.

Sonos... So Good!

Purchased this along with the play 5 and a bridge, the play 3 delivers very nice quality sound, and the bass is far superior then I had initially expected. I will most definitely be adding another one or two play 3's to my collection, just remember works best with the bridge... good job sonos!

After researching the various options for wireless, steaming speakers, I settled on the Sonos. I am VERY happy with this decision. I really wanted seamless playback right out of iTunes and when I first got home and set it up, I was a little disappointed to learn that the Sonos "looks" for music in my iTunes music folder (rather than as appearing as an output device in iTunes). However, the Sonos iOS and MacOSX software is really good. I have since purchased a second (Play: 3) unit and love the ability (through the software) to pair the devices and have: a) the same music playing in two different rooms, 2) different music in different rooms, and 3) pairing the two speakers for use as a single (left-channel-right-channel) stereo system. The sound quality is excellent (though I am not a purist, it sounds great to my ears). I love the way the units look as well. When I experienced a little problem with my iPhone controller, I posed the question on Sonos Twitter feed and they quickly posted the remedy. I also really love that it delivers various expeirences. For example, I can stream my whole music library, it natively supports various music services (Songza is often running in our house), and also natively supports internet radio (though TuneIn, which means you can basically hear any radio station on Earth). So now we have it running almost all the time either for radio or music. I will be getting the Playbar at some point, so that I can integrate my TV output into the system (and happily I will then be able to move one of my Play:3 units out of the living room to bring music to another area of the house. I can't speak highly enough of this product...

Does what it's supposed to do

Stable and well established in the wireless audio market. Sonos is a no fuss wireless audio solution that pretty much just works out of the box. Testing it out in the kitchen and the quality is perfect for that space. I suspect a Play 5 would be better if you want more than just background music. Got the bridge as well only because I don't have Ethernet available in every room. On the expensive side as far as home wireless audio options go. But trying to do the multi room audio thing "right" yourself would likely cost way more. Do your homework though. There are some limitations like no HD Audio support and 65K track limit (with workarounds) which might be a nuisance for some. I certainly can't tell the difference between HD and non HD tracks especially with a small speaker.
